Saudi committee calls for "harsh punitive measures" against author of "blasphemous" Twitter post

This article again shows the weakness of Islamic theology, with an impotent god like Allah who cannot defend his own honour. The religious muslim is there by instructed to do his evil bidding and punish those who stray from the wretched way Allah.

King Abdullah himself issued the arrest order.

Well, well, well; with a name that means 'slave of Allah' (Abdullah) what do you expect. Yes, a king that's a slave.

The harshness of the proposed punishments and the over-the-top reactions by the Saudis in charge are intended to give warning to all other muslims,

When I first saw this story in "Emirates 24/7" I submitted a comment something similar to:

"Kashgair's comments were benign! Until Muslims have freedom of speech, they'll continue in their version of the Dark Ages."

Perhaps unsurprisingly, my comment wasn't posted - although I now see that there is posted the following comment from "Nick":

"This is just a boy. Trying to do praise in his own way. No reason for punishment."

I wonder if that's an editor's attempt to "sanitize" my comment.

Next, yesterday, was my attempt to comment on the same story when it appeared in Arab News. I submitted something similar to:

"As Lemuel Washburn said more than a century ago:

'Dogma is the hand of the dead on the throat of the living'."

Again some Muslim editor apparently censored my comment.

And then this morning, when a different version of the story appeared in Arab News, I tried (and this one I kept a copy):

"I am opposed to any form of tyranny over the mind of man."

That follows, because as Charles Bradlaugh (1833– 1891) said:

"Without free speech no search for truth is possible... no discovery of truth is useful... Better a thousandfold abuse of free speech than denial of free speech. The abuse dies in a day, but the denial slays the life of the people, and entombs the hope of the race."

"Of course, all of this is "old news" to the censors of the Comments at Arab News, who have repeatedly demonstrated to me that they're afraid of permitting free speech."

So now, I'll just wait to see if I was able to penetrate their censorship with that one!

What am I not seeing here ?? Why can the ECHR block the extradition of Quatada to Jordan, yet Interpol can swoop on a ruddy blogger trying to keep his head on his shoulders ??

The most disturbing thing about this story to me is that INTERPOL has now become a sharia enforcement agency. All lovers of free speech should find that, and this entire story worrisome in the extreme.

If King Abdullah becomes an apostate how much of his personal wealth can he take with him to some Sharia-Free zone?

I think that this shows (with the sheikh crying like a baby the other day) who they really worship. The big perv Mo. And I think if you read the tweets, he was really saying he does NOT worship him, but rather treats him as an equal. They are actually practicing shirk, but in their own minds they do not see that. They have put a man on a pedestol to emulate, which means to copy or follow the example... they follow a man's example instead of their moon god. Dressing like him, with the beard and everything else.... it really baffles the mind that people in this modern world would think that a dead MAN could be offended... really.

WHAT?! Interpol asked to detain this man because the Saudis claimed he "broke Shariah law"?

That is absolutely outrageous, and any right-thinking person would forever ban themselves from travel to Malaysia for any reason. After all, most of us would be guilty of blasphemy, and theoretically (at least, it seems, according to this article) be subject to arrest and extradition to Saudi to become separated from our heads!

Outrageous!

Won't this boy's 'human rights' be in jeopardy if the Malaysians send him back to Saudi Arabia? The Brits have to keep all of their terrorist muslims because they might be abused and tortured in their native islamic hellholes so why doesn't somebody at the U.N. protest the fact that most of the distinguished members of the O.I.C. are human rights violators? They certainly make an inordinate number of demands on the civilized world; why doesn't anyone make a few demands of them? The governments of the O.I.C. behead their citizens for speech crimes and the West is about to let them impose their blasphemy laws on us. What insanity!

All you Islamic Jihadist need to take a chill pill and take up a hobby beside making suicide bombs.

Although maybe no one is interested, yet further to my earlier comment (Feb. 11 @ 10:30 AM), editors at Arab News finally (after two days deliberations!) did accept my comment:

Anyway, what may interest others is to read and respond to some of the horrible comments posted there (at http://arabnews.com/saudiarabia/article573459.ece?comments=all#comments ), with Muslims urging that Kashgair be murdered.

Interpol was treating the accusation of apostasy as if it were a real (civil) crime and cooperated with an ally as if this was a legitimate criminal investigation. Is Interpol in the business of enforcing Sharia law as a legitimate and equal legal system? Sharia law should be seen as the enforcement of a cult on society and not given political recognition at all. If Muslims attempt to enforce Sharia law over and above the civil law, let them be tried for their crimes of sedition, as well as the theft, extortion, lying to authorities, abuse, rape, and murder that Sharia law condones.
