Texas: Muslim club owner arrested on drug charges, accused of funneling money to Hizballah

"Mike" and "Steve" are suspected of laundering their drug money through their Austin, Texas clubs and sending it over to the jihad in Lebanon. "Investigators link nightclub owner, associates to drug deals, militant Islamic group, homicide case," by Gary Dinges and Patrick George for the American-Statesman, March 28 (thanks to Twostellas):

Drug deals. Weapons purchases. Ties to a prison gang and a militant Islamic group and even a potential link to an unsolved homicide.

That was the list of allegations federal officials laid out against an Austin nightclub owner and nine of his associates in a dramatic hearing Tuesday.

Arrested last week on money laundering and drug charges, Yassine Enterprises owner Hussein Ali "Mike" Yassine, his brother, Mohammed Ali "Steve" Yassine, and eight others appeared in federal court and heard more details about the cases against them.

Mike Yassine, who owns eight Austin nightclubs, and the other suspects in the case face a variety of charges. Some are accused of cocaine distribution, purchases of guns to be used during drug deals and money laundering dating back to 2007.

Officials linked one suspect to the Texas Syndicate prison gang. They also said thousands of dollars were transferred to a Yassine relative in Lebanon who is reportedly connected to the militant group Hezbollah, considered a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.

Prosecutors for the first time also revealed that Mike Yassine is a "person of interest" in a case being investigated by the Austin Police Department's homicide cold case unit. Austin police declined to provide additional details Tuesday, including the name of the alleged victim.

Mike Yassine might have also threatened witnesses, officials said, and is being investigated as part of a sexual assault case....

Also charged in the case are Marisse Marthe "Madi" Ruales, Karim Faiq, Alejandro "Cueta" Melendrez, Edgar Orsini, Nizar "Nino" Hakiki, Amar Thabet Araf and Sami Derder, all Central Texas residents who authorities say have various levels of involvement with the purported crimes.

During raids on the suspects' homes and businesses last week, investigators said they seized more than 400 boxes of evidence.

They also report finding $200,000 in cash in a safe at the Yassine Enterprises offices on West Fourth Street, as well as cashier's checks totaling $45,000 made out to a member of the Yassine family in Lebanon. That man is associated with Hezbollah, IRS agent James Neff testified.

The searches also turned up a bogus University of Texas diploma with Mike Yassine's name, prosecutors said.

The American-Statesman has learned that businesses linked to Mike Yassine currently owe almost $600,000 in state sales and mixed-beverage taxes. His bank accounts have been frozen by the state comptroller's office, his attorney said in court.

Yassine Enterprises, owns eight Austin bars: Pure, Spill, Kiss & Fly, Treasure Island, Hyde, Fuel, Malaia and Roial. They've remained closed since last week's arrests and, officials said, will likely remain that way for the foreseeable future after the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission obtained a court order that blocks all eight nightclubs from selling or serving alcohol....

Investigators testified that Mike Yassine told the informant, who posed as a drug dealer — and whose accounts have driven much of the case — that he wanted to launder $200,000 to $1 million in narcotics money through his clubs. The informant's name was not released....

Legalization and regulation of all drugs is the easiest way to cut these people off at the knees. Where there is demand there will always be supply. Only difference is whether it goes into the hands of the black market.

" ... weapons purchases ..."

Fast and Furious?

Mike and Steve!!! Apple pie all the way.

Syrian forces on Wednesday stormed a rebel bastion despite President Bashar al-Assad’s reported acceptance of Kofi Annan’s peace plan and an opposition plea that tanks be withdrawn, monitors said.

They said the same about alcohol prohabition but repealing that didn't rid America of the mafia. The drug cartels won't be stopped by legalization either, they're not going to throw down their guns and go to work in the fields.

This is sort of off the subject but it is about hanging out with a bad crowd. In the news to day Adm. James Starvidos of NATO insisted the traing of the Afghan Army is going well dispite attacks in which Afghan soldiers have turned their weapons on their US and NATO PARTNERS. Some partners!! With partners like that I wouldn't rest easy.
Also more of our friends in the East.
Obama met with a Pakistani partner to thaw out the chill between two friends. News said 'Pakistan is a critical but difficult US PARTNER who's nuclear weapons and historical links to terrorism' etc.
Looks like we are hanging out with the wrong crowd, You have got to wonder!!!

No, but prohibition was the major cause of the Mafia problem to begin with. While ending prohibition did not end the Mafia altogether, it did cut off a major source of funding and force the Mafia to look to other sources of funding. Had prohibition never been tried at all it's doubtful the Mafia would have gotten the foothold it did.

No. The cartels will not go to work in the fields. It's likely human trafficking, kidnapping, and other side-projects will increase. That being said it would be a major blow, and with so much of the opium and cannabis coming from Afghanistan and other Islamic states, it wouldn't be a bad idea to cut off as many sources of funding as possible. This is especially true with the increasing presence of the Islamic menace in South America.

In a free market, it's very likely that consumers would prefer domestic quality cannabis, for example, as opposed to import which is often grown in less controlled environments and is thus of lesser quality. Getting drugs out of the black market and into the pharmacy would also keep them out of the hands of kids, who right now can procure drugs far easily than they can procure alcohol (there was a poll a year or so back asking teens which was easier to get). Eliminating the taboo would also help eliminate a lot of the "cool" factor.

mohammedans are dealing drugs and funneling $$ to terrorist networks? Shocking!

"Yassine Enterprises, owns eight Austin bars: Pure, Spill, Kiss & Fly, Treasure Island, Hyde, Fuel, Malaia and Roial. Yay! they got arrested and may they rot in jail ...and *Kudos* to those that caught these mohammedan low-life's and shut down their bars. This is great news! One scumbag at a time--or two, in this case.

Texas: Muslim club owner arrested on drug charges, accused of funneling money to Hizballah

"Mike" and "Steve" are suspected of laundering their drug money through their Austin, Texas clubs and sending it over to the jihad in Lebanon. "Investigators link nightclub owner, associates to drug deals, militant Islamic group, homicide case"
.............................................

I guess it's Halal for Muslims to run nightclubs, just so long as they're using them to fund violent Jihad...

What's the charge choice? Material support for terrorists or RICO? Whichever is chosen, you can count on an appeal or mistrial for not charging the other. They've studied us for quite while. Deeper than we have.
Can we accept the idea that this is just the tip of the iceberg?
Probably not. The likelihood that one would be called out as Islamophobic has the same effect of charging "Hate-Speak".
But, don't worry America. You'll loving tithes on top of your taxes. Just soften the borders.

OT, but wow!...at least 11 suicide bombers stopped just 1 hour short of bombing buses....

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/mass-bus-bomb-suicide-attack-774362

Enough of these muslim criminals in our midst.
Anyone supporting our terrorist enemies should be subject to the following:

1. Immediate deportation with no right of return--banishment from this country for life.
No right of appeal.

2. In the event of illegal return to this country, on apprehension an automatic 25 year sentence to a federal max facility, with neither right of appeal nor chance for parole.

3. Thorough investigation of all relatives, friends and business associates; to include mosque(s)attended and imam(s) presiding. Penalty for complicity to be as in (1.) and (2.) above.

Will this entirely resolve the situation? No.
But, it would at least be a START and perhaps send a sufficient message to elicit second thoughts from these erstwhile muslim criminals. And it would introduce the 'D' Word--deportation--into the dialogue as a viable solution.

Ultimately, these cretins will jam our courts and prison systems and bleed them dry. If we allow this to happen we are complicit in our own demise. The time has come for them to go...

Congratulations to the agencies responsible for the take down and collar. Good job!

Okay, let's try this again. First, this is not a comment from "D". Second, I post this here as I have in the past given Mr. Spencer's particular sensitivity tpwards Mr. Ackerman. In light of the article above, perhaps you may find this relevant, not in bashing ALL MUSLIMS but rather defending our need to defend ourselves. http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2012/03/fbi-bend-suspend-law/

I should have continued posting my disclaimer as I have in the past: My comments are not meant to disparage or threaten Muslims as a group or incite violence against law-abiding citizens of the US who are entitled to the full protection of law.

We have Lebanese Arab Muslim organised crime 'families' here in Australia doing exactly the same thing. Their sons - with actual names such as 'Hassan' and 'Mohammed' - tend to adopt innocuous-sounding Aussie nicknames such as 'Mick' and 'Steve'.

They feud with (occasionally murdering) each other and they manufacture and push drugs and they're into 'car-rebirthing' and suchlike, and some of them **own nightclubs** just like 'Steve' and 'Mick' in Austin, Texas. Some of them have joined our outlaw bikie gangs - I'm speaking Australian, we say 'bikie' in Australia, not 'biker' - and worked their way to the top; which does not bode well.

One such Mohammedan crime 'family' are the notorious 'Ibrahims'.

And given what we've just discovered about 'Mike' and 'Steve' in Austin, Texas - the tax evasion, the fraud, the violence, the money-laundering, and the passing of money to Jihad gangs - I would bet good money that the Ibrahims and the rest of them in Australia are probably sending large chunks of their ill-gotten gains back home to fund Jihad, too.

I suspect that the boys in blue in the Middle East Organised Crime Squad (yup, that's what we got, here in Australia, to deal with the Ibrahims and their ilk) would just *love* to be able to round up the whole lot of them, strip them of their Aussie citizenship and Aussie passports, and ship them right back to Lebanon where they came from.

A classic article on 'the rise of middle eastern crime in Australia.

(The author doesn't *quite* get the full extent and nature of the beast he's describing - he doesn't see ISLAM as the centre of the problem, he should have called his article 'the rise of Muslim crime in Australia' - but nevertheless it is an important article, for the author was in on the groundfloor when the first big influx of Muslims - mostly from Lebanon - hit Australia, and he saw the same rise in violent criminality that all nations see if their Mohammedan colony exceeds a certain critical mass).

http://www.australian-news.com.au/Tim_Priest.htm

He makes, also, one very, very important point.

Other ethnic communities in Australia - our long-established anglo-celtic community which form the majority, and the Italo-Australians, and the newer Asian Vietnamese and Chinese immigrants - all have their notorious crime 'families'. There was some mafia style shenanigans with the Italians, and the East Asians have gangs, too, mostly involved with drugs and brothels. We had criminal bikie gangs pushing drugs, etc, long before the Mohammedans arrived.

But the Muslims are different in their ultra violence, the extent of their predation, and the fact that in general they do not cooperate with the police to catch their 'bad eggs' - as other ethno-cultural groups do and have done - but, rather, close ranks around them and defend them.

Escerpts from Priest's article:

"In the early 1980s, as a young detective I was attached to the Drug Squad at the old CIB.

"I remember executing a search warrant at Croydon, where we found nearly a pound of heroin. I know that now sounds very familiar; however, what set this heroin apart was that it was Beaker [sic: for Bekaa, in Lebanon – dda.] Valley Heroin, markedly different from any heroin I had seen. Number Four heroin from the golden triangle of South-East Asia is nearly always off-white, almost pure diamorphine. This heroin was almost brown.

"But more remarkable were the occupants of the house.

"They were very recent arrivals from Lebanon,

"and from the moment we entered the premises, we wrestled and fought with the male occupants, were abused and spat at by the women and children, and our search took five times longer because of the impediments placed before us by the occupants, including **the women hiding heroin in baby nappies and on themselves and refusing to be searched by policewomen because of religious beliefs** {my emphasis - dda}.

"**We had never encountered these problems before** {nota bene: and he would have conducted drug raids on persons of assorted non-Muslim backgrounds - dda}.

More:

"In 1994 I was stationed at Redfern. {This is right in the heart of Sydney - dda}

"A well-known Lebanese [betcha, Lebanese Muslim - dda] family who lived not far from the old Redfern Police Academy were terrorising the locals with random assaults, drug dealing, robberies and violent anti-social behaviour...".

Sounds just like the banlieues, and assorted no-go zones in the UK, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway...and 'Arab' areas in Israel - dda.

More:

"IT WAS ABOUT 1995 to 1996 that the emergence of Middle Eastern [most likely Muslim? – dda] crime groups was first observed in New South Wales.

"Before then they had been largely known for individual acts of anti-social behaviour and loose family structures involved in heroin importation and supply as well as motor vehicle theft and conversion...".

Yeah, sounds familiar, doesn't it. Whereever the Ummah goes, all manner of outright criminal behaviour seems to proliferate in a manner far exceeding that of other cultural/ ideological groups. -dda.

More:

"But even more frustrating for operational police were the activities of this ethnic crime group, **activities that set it apart from almost all others bar the [East Asian - dda] Cabramatta 5T.

"The Lebanese [sic: Lebanese Muslim - dda] groups were ruthless, extremely violent, and they intimidated not only innocent witnesses, but even the police that attempted to arrest them.

"As these crime groups encountered less resistance in terms of police operations and enforcement, their power grew not only within their own communities, but also all around Sydney — except in Cabramatta, where their fear of the South-East Asian crime groups limited their forays. But the rest of Sydney became easy pickings."...

"AN EXAMPLE of the confrontations police nearly always experienced in Muslim-dominated areas when confronting even the most minor of crimes is an incident that occurred in 2001 in Auburn {Sydney's most heavily-Islamised suburb - dda}.

"Two uniformed officers stopped a motor vehicle containing three well-known male offenders of Middle Eastern [sic: Muslim –dda.] origin, on credible information via the police radio that indicated that the occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a series of break-and-enters. What occurred during the next few hours can only be described as frightening.

"When searching the vehicle and finding stolen property from the break-and-enter, the police were physically threatened by the three occupants of the car, including references to tracking down where the officers lived, killing them and “fucking your girlfriends”.

"The two officers were intimidated to the point of retreating to their police car and calling for urgent assistance.

When police back-up arrived, the three occupants called their associates via their mobile phones, which incidentally is the Middle Eastern [sic: more properly, Muslim – dda] radio network used to communicate amongst gangs.

"Within minutes as many as twenty associates arrived as well as another forty or so from the street where they had been stopped.

" As further police cars arrived, the Middle Eastern [sic: Muslim – dda.] males became even more aggressive, throwing punches at police, pushing police over onto the ground, threatening them with violence and damaging police vehicles."...

"I had observed the beginnings of Asian organised crime whilst at the Drug Squad and later at the National Crime Authority where I worked on two task forces, one of which was on Chinese organised crime.

" When I look back on the influence of Chinese organised crime in Australia, I see a gradual but sustained trend, not one of high peaks in terms of activity or incidents, but one of a well-planned criminal enterprise that attracts little attention. It’s there but you can’t always see it.

"It probably took twenty years for the Chinese to become a dominant force in crime in this city.

"**But Middle Eastern [sic: Muslim – dda.] crime has taken less than ten years** {my emphasis - dda}.

"So pervasive is their influence on organised crime that rival ethnic groups, with the exception of the Asian gangs, have been squeezed out or made extinct.

"The only other crime group to have survived intact are the bikies, although the bikies these days have legitimised many of their operations and now make as much money from legal means as they do illegally. In many ways they have adopted US Mafia methods of legitimate businesses shrouding their illegal operations"...

"The extent to which Middle Eastern [Muslim –dda.] crime gangs have moved into the drug market is breathtaking. They are now the main suppliers of cocaine in this city and are now developing markets in south-eastern Queensland and Victoria. They are major suppliers of heroin in and around the inner city, south-western Sydney and western Sydney.

What sets the Middle Eastern [Muslim – dda] gangs apart from all other gangs is their propensity to use violence at any time and for any reason...".

"I thought I would never see the level and type of violence that I saw with the South-East Asian gangs in Cabramatta, particularly the 5T, the Four Aces and Madonna’s Mob, which were a breakaway from the old 5T.

"But the violence, although horrific, was almost always local, that is within the Cabramatta area and almost always against fellow Asians.

"As a result of that locally based violent crime it was relatively easy to identify the culprits and break them up once we were given the resources after the police revolt of 1999 - 2000.

"The Middle Eastern [sic: Muslim – dda.] cycle of violence is not local. It can occur on the central coast, around Cronulla, Bondi, Darling Harbour, Five Dock, Redfern, Paddington, anywhere in Sydney.

"Unlike their Vietnamese counterparts, they roam the city and are not confined to either Cabramatta or Chinatown. And even more alarming is that the violence is directed mainly against young Australian [that is, young NON-MUSLIM Australian - dda] men and women...".

"Cabramatta is made up almost entirely of residents born outside this country, mostly South-East Asians, and their children.

"But when I went forward and exposed the shame of Cabramatta, the residents were not Asians in my eyes, but Australians no matter where they came from. It was my duty to speak up for them and to protect them. Race was never an issue. I have received many awards in my police career but the ones I hold dearest are those I received from the Cabramatta community.

"One old man who had spent seven years in refugee camps in South-East Asia before coming to Australia said the day he landed in Australia was like dying and coming to heaven.

"Cabramatta was a community of ordinary people like that old man, who recognised the problems of drugs and organised crime in their community and spoke up and agitated for change.

"It was a slightly built Vietnamese man named Thung Ngo who led the charge on behalf of a community that had had enough of crime and forced a parliamentary inquiry into Cabramatta which ultimately saved their community from destruction.

"Not once during that inquiry did I hear any member of the Cabramatta community — apart from the Anglo-Saxon local member — complain that they were being racially discriminated against because of the inquiry or its aftermath.

"They wanted change, they wanted a safe law-abiding community. It was my duty to do everything I could to honour my pledge to protect and to serve.

"**But I have not heard anything like that from the Middle Eastern [sic: Muslim – dda.] community.** {my emphasis - dda}.

" Initially the gang rapes [Lebanese Muslim gang rapes of young non-Muslim Australian girls - dda] were the fault of Australian culture, according to one [Muslim – dda] religious leader in the south-west [i.e. Sheik Hilaly, who compared unveiled women to ‘uncovered meat’ exposed for cats to eat –dda.]. I note that he has now softened his stance and is calling for change among Middle Eastern [sic: Muslim – dda] youth.

"But they are just words; there seem to be no Thung Ngos among them."

I clicked on the link and read the whole article about 'Mick' and 'Steve'.

Here is boilerplate defensiveness and denial from the father of these charming young men.

"Outside the courtroom on Tuesday, their father, Ali Yassine, said his sons are not guilty of the charges against them. "My boys ... everybody's innocent," he said. "They're very good boys."

"Legalization and regulation of all drugs is the easiest way to cut these people off at the knees."

Thats a solution but just remember who we are dealing with. The cult started by muhammed, himself a thief, robber, rapist, mass murderer. All muslims take their cue from this man, thats their perfect man, thats their perfect criminal. So when muslims engage in criminal enterprises against infidal this is an act of worship and halal behavior. Don't worry muslims will always find ways to do things illegally.

Efforts to do away with the death penalty in Tunisia, which have grown since the revolution, are being held back by the tenets of Islamic Law, says the head of Amnesty International in Tunisia.

“The abolition of the death penalty is causing a controversy within the Constituent Assembly as some members affiliated with Ennahda are claiming that it contradicts Shariaa [Islamic Law],” said Sondes Garbouj, president of the organization’s Tunisian branch, after attending a session of the Subcommittee of Rights and Liberties that is in charge of deciding the issue.

I'm not confusing you with "D", Max—but I'm still not sure of your point. From your last few posts, it appears you are positing that Jihad Watch is overreacting, and that Islam does not really present a serious threat.

You've posted some really strong anti-Jihad stuff here in the past. Please let me know if I'm reading you wrong.
