It would be interesting to see a clear photograph of the material Conway posted. The court records may eventually emerge, or we'll have to wait 'till he's released to hear his side of the story. However, as you say Mr Spencer, it does not bode well if one cannot even protest from the privacy of your living quarters. I see plenty of things I find offensive out in public view, but I'd never go squealing to the authorities like a big wus.

I just took a look at the "This is Lincolnshire" website and read the article and the comments on it. They were about 90% in support of Conway and critical of the judge and of the double standards of British courts. Here's one comment that gives some idea of what was on Conway's posters:

“Have any of you seen these pictures?? I have! So has my wife (who often walked past this house with my 2 young children). Surely pictures of people who have been tortured and beheaded is offensive!!??”

So apparently at least some of the pictures were of Moslem atrocities. I can see that such pictures might be upsetting to sensitive souls. But surely they're not offensive to Moslems; Moslems usually delight in photos of mutilated unbelievers, apostates, and disobedient wives.

There has been a dramatic increase in hate crime prosecutions since 2006 in the UK. Apparently some 13,276 people came before the UK courts for such crimes in 2010-11. The Crown Prosecution Service said many had involved assaults or verbal abuse. Note you can now get prosecuted and go to jail for "verbal abuse". Apparently at what point does freedom of expression become verbal abuse in the UK that can find you behind bars or does it matter who it is directed at, the prosecution rate is at 80 percent? The UK is clearly lost to an ever increasing political correctness in a once proud country that has lost its way, and fails to protect its culture. It is allowing sharia courts everywhere and it bends to the aggressive Islamist like Anjem Choudary at every turn.

In the end what Western Country will defend its culture,its laws, it foundations against the ever increasing threat that is the not so stealth jihad anymore in the EU Countries?

America needs to learn from what is happening to Eurabia day after day over the past 35 years.

I'm tempted to put a sign in my window that says I am "offended" by the arrogance of Islamic supremacism and the Qur'anic suras which say to abuse non-Muslim until they "feel subdued" and women are merely fields to be (sexually) plowed as the husband sees fit and that Jews and Christians are pigs and dogs.

I'm not a White, but had I been living in Britain, I'd support the BNP, despite their apparently not wanting the membership of people like me. Reason is simple - I'll support anybody who wants to show Mohammedans their place. POLICE are understood to have confiscated a collection of porcelain pigs from the front window of a woman's house in the same road as Leicester's main mosque following a complaint from local Muslims that the display was offensive.

Nancy Bennett, a 49-year-old foster mother from the Highfields area of Leicester, said the complaint about the pigs was made after she went to the police to report harassment. She has alleged that she has been targeted by local youths since the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, when she decorated her house with red, white and blue bunting. Leicester Federation of Muslim Organisations spokes-man Yaqub Khan said that more than 1,000 worshippers attending weekly Friday prayers at the nearby mosque passed the collection of pigs. He said that Mrs Bennett was aware of the potential for offence to be caused - that the pig is mentioned as being "unclean" in the Koran, and is regarded as an offensive animal by Muslims, who are forbidden from eating it.

Mrs Bennett said: "I arrived home to find police about to break into my house. They had got a warrant. They said they had had complaints about the pigs from neighbours. They considered it was a public order matter and took about 17 of them. I have been told not to replace them. As far as I know the BNP are as racist and anti-Semitic as they come. The problems were that this party was the only party that would address certain issues which would encourage people to join even though some of the policies were distasteful.

Consider the EDL, set up with good intentions and some people who were BNP members joined this new organisation, presumably because unlike the BNL the EDL stood for (what I would consider) the right things. However, look what happened when the newspapers got wind that some EDL members were once BNP members. There were no questions of why, just an immediate smear along the lines of "EDL full of BNP activists". I once considered joining the BNP because I was so frustrated with the lack of understanding amongst the main political parties but I was put off by some of their policies. I was glad when the EDL emerged for what I hope, are obvious reasons.

Back on topic though, I really wish we could know what this person had displayed in his window. I mean, even a picture of a decapitated body, placed for no other reason than the poster liked it should be no reason for imprisonment. So why would a picture of something that was done for no other reason than Islam mandated it (for whatever reason) be suddenly worthy of porridge (English slang for doing prison time!)? There has to be more to this story because if there isn't then we (the English) are now officially Royally screwed!

I´m not quite in the thick of things jihadi here but I am still keeping up with this site daily and hope in time to move on to West Africa.

I would like to point out that the impression most people in the West will likely have of Bolivia is wrong. It is not a socialist police state crushing peasants and whipping them into frenzies of support for the imams in Iran. Far from that, here I have more freedom than anywhere in the West at this time. I can do almost anything here without a raised eyebrow or a raised voice. We in the West live a fascist tyranny gone mad. Bolivia is free. Sharia law could be enforced on a very large scale if transgressionss could be characterised as behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace.

Street preaching when there are a number of Muslims around, walking a dog past a mosque, any sort of window display (it seems) which might arouse the ire of local 'youths,' making disrespectful comments about Islam or the 'prophet' that happen to be overheard by a nearby Muslim, without their being intended to hear - the could all come under some charge of provocation. The list of things which offend Muslims (i.e. infidels disobeying their obligation to act as dhimmis) is notoriously long. The 'breach of the peace angle' would come from the fact that islam encourages vigilantism in the enforcement of shariah. British plods wishing to maintain order rather than support the rights of freeborn Englishmen, could be counted on to be accommodating.
Having been accused of being institutionally racist, put through ideological minority awareness courses and sure that their superiors would be likely to leave them swinging in the wind if they put a foot wrong in this sensitive area, I'd imagine the boys in blue would be quite enthusiastic about this kind of enforcement of sharia.Cameron's eagerness for the local election of chief constables might well exacerbate the problem (particularly if postal voting is allowed!)

I thought the British people had more chutzpah than this. They should all be taping anti-islam material to their windows and forcing the government to deal with that. I'm sure there aren't enough police to arrest them or jails to hold them ( the muslims have filled those up).

You don't have to belong to the BNP to support their aims. They are the only political party that openly opposes Islamification of our country. Hi, PGJ, and yes, the West is seriously difficult to like anymore. I look at the streets of La Paz, for example, and there are no parking meters. That might seem trivial, but without parking meters one is left to park as one can, the one winning the spot being the one happy. For the other? He moves on. There is no income from parking meters for the government to use to oppress the people while bureaucrats line their pockets and build empires of public oppression. There are few traffic lights, a few policemen directing traffic at rush hour, and the streets themselves are in such poor shape only a maniac would speed. So people use common sense when crossing a street or when they confront people crossing, no big deal, no lives lost, no government watching and waiting to take money from all they can for nothing. This is personal, unregulated freedom of the kind we in the West can hardly imagine, and many could not accept. And I pick trivial examples to make this point.

Bolivia is a poor country by most measures, but it is rich in freedom, all of which is glaringly obvious in the nature of the people here who live quietly and peacably for the sake of private and family life. The West is drowning in publicity, in the State enforcing a utopian ideology on the masses from some gnostic belief that the self-appointed elite has a special knowledge about the perfect and universal right way of life, and damn the dissenters. Darren Conway should have known that negative pictures, words, thoughts, or publications against Islam is a serious offense of Sharia Law. They simply aren't prepared for it. They prefer to be refered to as "the religion of peace", and or "innocent victims".

Please address your oppinions towards Christians they can handle it much better, no doubt because they have always been disrespected and discrminated against. So they can deal with it emotionaly and mentally much better than Muslims.

The offensive material Darren Conway posted in his window must have been very offensive and personal. The U.K 2006 Racial and Religious Hatred Act, does not permit one to make personal ctiticism of a Muslim or Hindu, Sikh or Christian etc. However it does permit 'criticism, expessions of antipathy, dislike, ridicule, insult or abuse of a particular religion or the beliefs and practices of its adherents.'

The lady with the pigs in her window, was probably committing no offence, but the Police illegally pressured her. The Muslims complained and in the interest of community harmony the police took advantage of the ladies ignorance about the law.

The police have attempted to pressure me into removing anti-Islam signs from my car. I challenged them to arrest me and let a court decide my innocence or guilt. So far they have backed off. My Lawyer assures me I am committing no offence. But will further pressure from local Muslims 'encourage'the police to have another go at me. ???
