Yes, adoption is a big deal with our Lord. Sinners are adopted into God's family upon salvation, and become joint heirs with Christ. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Ruth, the Moabitess, is part of the lineage of Jesus Christ, even though she was not a Jew by birth. She was adopted into and became part of God's chosen people.

Gerard is right. Usually the counterfeiter tries to come as close to the original as possible to fool the unsuspecting, but in mohammedism, satan doesn't even bother.

Prohibitions against adoption and having dogs as pets. What more needs to be said? It's just inhumane, loveless and evil.

But seriously, IP, respecting day-to-day care of orphan children, if adoption is not an option, who takes care of them? I really don't know. Does anybody?

Both polygamy and a ban on adoptions show the essential lovelessness of Islam. Ugh.

All this means is that now that the "Islamists" are in power that the force they use against such 'scofflaws' will take a rather different form. Rather than suicide attacks, they will use the "morality police" and the courts to enforce Islam.

Excellent question, Wellington.

It is not just that adoption is forbidden under Islam—very few Muslims run orphanages, either. Orphanages in Muslim countries are often run by Infidels. Also, such orphanages are regularly targets of Jihad attacks.

There are many other cases, all over the Muslim world. Often Muslims are more concerned that Muslim children might be exposed to some sort of "kufr" at Christian or secular orphanages than whether they are cared for.

So what happens to these orphans where there are no Infidels to help?

Islamic texts—which do some small nattering about being 'just' to orphans, i.e., not to steal their inheritances and such—but do not urge Muslims to actually love orphans. In fact, Islamic texts actually *condemn treating orphans as members of the family*.

Orphans are supposed to be taken in by relatives, no matter how distant. Given the bar on treating these poor children as close members of the family, this generally leads to de facto child slavery, where these children are exploited and abused. It is also very common for a family to claim to be distant relatives in order to gain an unpaid servant. Needless to say, sexual abuse of both girls and boys is tremendously high.

In hellholes like Afghanistan, such children are often just literally abandoned to the elements if no one takes them in.

Despite the "positive spin" here, it's pretty ugly stuff.

So many of the Islamic objections to adoption seem to hinge on gross sexual cupidity—like so much else in Islam. One objection is that adoptive brothers would not be able to marry their sisters—which apparently trumps their growing up in a loving home. Similarly, that no adoptive father would be allowed to marry his daughter—just regard the queasiness of *that* argument—ugh. Another that any adopted girl would have to go into purdah around her adopted family, since they are not blood relatives, etc, etc.

And, of course, all of this dates back to the "Prophet" Muhammed disowning his adopted son Zayd because he was stricken with lust for his daughter-in-law Zainab, and would have her at any cost.

God, I hate Islam.
