(Reuters) - A Maryland honor student pleaded guilty Friday to conspiring to help a Pennsylvania woman known as "Jihad Jane" plot to kill a Swedish cartoonist who had offended some Muslims.
Mohammed Hassan Khalid, 18, is believed to be the youngest person ever charged with terrorism in a U.S. civilian court. He faces a sentence as high as 15 years in prison.

Khalid, who moved with his family from Pakistan to suburban Baltimore in 2008, was a high school student who had been accepted on a full scholarship at prestigious Johns Hopkins University.

According to filings by U.S. prosecutors, Khalid began communicating online with fellow jihadists in the United States, Ireland and South Asia as early as age 15.

One of them was Colleen R. LaRose, the suburban Philadelphia woman who called herself "Jihad Jane." LaRose pleaded guilty last year to conspiring to kill Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks. The artist had offended some Muslims by drawing a cartoon with the head of the prophet Mohammed on a dog's body.

U.S. officials have said the "Jihad Jane" case is unusual because it involves a green-eyed, blonde American woman who boasted that her appearance and U.S. passport allowed her to conduct terror activities without drawing suspicion....

Why did the USA let this family into the country? We should be restricting immigration of Muslims at the very least. A complete ban would make even more sense. Then free airline tickets to... somewhere else. (Not Canada, I live there!)

Muslims are here to cause trouble. They admit this among themselves and, in fact, are commanded to be throns in the sides of civilized folk.

I look for positive stories about Muslims. When I find one I search deeper only to find deceptions. Local Muslims purportedly raised money for a certain orphanage in Haiti. I happen to know the people running that very orphanage. No money arrived from the local Muslims. But the Muslims got a nice bit of coverage on the local tv news.

Liars and pretty slick at PR tricks.

What is typically incongruous with this situation is how can anyone determine that the cartoon was drawn depicting the head of Mohammad, when replicas of him are illegal and supposedly none exists. So, because a person says it is, or looks like Mohammad, how do they prove it?

Also, from Muslim law, we cannot dare to draw a picture because we might make a mistake or anything wrong which would be insolence. Since Mohammad was supposedly perfect and we cannot achieve that perfection, it would seem to follow that no drawing, painting, etc. could be of him!

My wife is a special education teacher and she has a very hard time understanding my concerns and alarm about Islam and Jihad in the U.S. I work in a highly terrorist targeted work environment and have had access to information she has never had. The average Joe or Jane Shmo out there have NO IDEA what the hell we are dealing with and most are in the "If we are nice, they'll be nice back." FAT CHANCE! The odds are that I'll grow a second pair of cojones before that happens.

The key word here is "unusual". We should not make the irrational leap from her blonde hair and green eyes to the conclusion that we should not be ethnically profiling Muslims; for such a conclusion requires more than the mere handful of white Muslim terrorists we have seen thus far (+ the fact that certain central Asiatic and/or Slavic Muslims "look white"). Before we take that leap, the percentage of Muslim terrorists who look ethnic would have to come down from being well over 90% as it has been, to at least somewhere around 50%.

Look before you leap.

By the same token, back in the 1930's and '40's, not all American Communists were visibly Jews, Finns, or West Indians (to name three ethnic groups among whom they were over-represented). Further, "ethnic looking Muslims" today may or may not be dangerous. A lot of South Asians and Arabs could pass for Latin Americans; and a lot of Muslim immigrants are in the process of exiting their religion. I've heard that among Christians of Iranian origins in the USA, for example, the proportion of ethnic Assyrians and Armenians has fallen precipitously in relation to those of Islamic Persian or Azeri background. West African Muslims in the USA have also proven susceptible to Christian proselytizing as well. Our own poster Miriam Rove has identified himself as a non-believer of Iranian Muslim origin.

We've had problems with La Raza types and Puerto Rican Independencistas in the past (some of the latter tried to assassinate Pres. Truman, for example). Yet it is clear that most Latins in the continental USA, if not citizens, still aspire to that status.

I remain of the persuasion that we go after and severely punish those who actually commit the crimes; not just those who think differently.

It's not the same token at all. Communism was born and grew up in Europe, which is predominantly white. Only later was it exported to the Chinese, thence to SE Asia, and thence to various Third World countries. Communism thus became truly polymorphous -- though it would have been perfectly reasonable to be prejudiced against Russians during the Communist Era (though even there, the comparison breaks down, since far fewer Russians had become True Believers contrasted with how many hundreds of millions of Muslims we must assume -- connecting oceans and mountains of dots of data about their behaviors -- are truly brainwashed).

Islam's history, by contrast, is almost entirely Third World, and it remains a Third World demographic population immigrating into the white West, with again as yet only a very small number of white Western converts (thank Allah). The minute I start to see the numbers of the latter tip to a quantity rationally considerable as sufficient to moderate our intelligence concerns such that ethnicity becomes impractical, I would adjust those concerns accordingly. But it is irrational to do so prematurely.

Why must I so frequently iterate such elementary points?

We are all in the same boat. My family and friends do not want to hear anything about Islam. That is why I support JW and Pam Geller (as much as I can) and others like them so they can better communicate the silent, vicious and brutal (and extremely stupid)enemy we are facing. We can talk as much as we want here and there but in the end Islam must be defeated by force. There is no other way.

I understand where Kepha is coming from, LL, but I agree with you that ethnic profiling of Muslims in a world which would never compromise common sense (unfortunately we live in a world where common sense is compromised regularly) is the optimum way to go. It's not the perfect way since perfection here cannot exist and it wouldn't always be eminently fair, but these "limitations" pale in comparison to the dire implications if we don't do what you suggest. In short, I'm with you on this one.

We're permitting ourselves to be infiltrated and penetrated by this Islamic "Fifth Column" in the name of the asinine "political correctness" of our era.

I've posted elsewhere that we Americans are actually encouraging the Islamic "tail" of the likes of C.A.I.R and the A.C.L.U. to continue wagging the "dog" of America.

(.....the Islamists/Muslims reading this covertly will hoot in delight at my use of "dog" in this context; they're simply deliberately mis-understanding our use of the term, "tail wagging the dog". )

Muslims here in America are indeed thorns in our sides; in this sense we're sowing the seeds of major trouble to mature in the future....again, all in the name of "political correctness" run amok.

It's not premature to worry about Muslim penetration into our America.....they're right here, right now. They don't have to be "white" to be viciously dangerous.

Conversely, my own concern is that we need to consciously emphasize that numbers alone of these Muslims, of whatever ethnicity, is of small concern when we remember that so few Muslims caused such enormous horror on that 11 September of 2001.

It seems to me that these Muslims-Islamist are indeed following along with the tactics of the Communist "Fellow Travelers" of the 1930's and 1940's.

We postpone thinking about this in this manner at our great peril.

Our attention spans today are dangerously truncated.
