Taliban poison 120 schoolgirls and three teachers for the crime of educating females

The Taliban believe that educating girls is un-Islamic, but that poisoning them pleases Allah. And remember: if you dare call attention to this horror, you're a greasy Islamophobe.

"Afghan girls poisoned in second anti-school attack," from Reuters, May 23 (thanks to all who sent this in):

TALIQAN, Afghanistan (Reuters) - More than 120 schoolgirls and three teachers have been poisoned in the second attack in as many months blamed on conservative radicals in the country's north, Afghan police and education officials said on Wednesday.

Reuters, like all of the mainstream media, believes that you're a "conservative" if you enforce Islamic law by poisoning schoolgirls, and also that you're a "conservative" if you oppose Islamic law and the poisoning of schoolgirls.

The attack occurred in Takhar province where police said that radicals opposed to education of women and girls had used an unidentified toxic powder to contaminate the air in classrooms. Scores of students were left unconscious.

Afghanistan's intelligence agency, the National Directorate of Security (NDS), says the Taliban appear intent on closing schools ahead of a 2014 withdrawal by foreign combat troops.

"A part of their Al Farooq spring offensive operation is ... to close schools. By poisoning girls they want to create fear. They try to make families not send their children to school," NDS spokesman Lutfullah Mashal said.

Afghanistan's Ministry of Education said last week that 550 schools in 11 provinces where the Taliban have strong support had been closed down by insurgents.

Last month, 150 schoolgirls were poisoned in Takhar province after they drank contaminated water....

While I am 100% in favor of us getting out of that cesspool ASAP, it does pose the moral dilemma of: What about the girls and women?? Do we just throw them under the bus (or rather, to the Islamic wolves??)

Here's a modest proposal - why not "buy" Afghan girls for adoption in the civilized world?? At $1000 each, saving a million girls would only cost $1 billion. Heck of a deal if you ask me, and then they will no longer be there as breeding stock for future jihadis..

"Do we just throw them under the bus (or rather, to the Islamic wolves?"

Islam_Macht,

I think the proper reply is "yes". We throw them under the bus, rather than bring a million unscreened girls from a Muslim culture into the country.

We are finding out that by adopting a mission of providing refuge to people from areas with endemic violence and criminal behavior, we are importing violence and criminal behavior.

These girls are the result of incessant inbreeding, where the intelligent, insightful individuals have been systematically weeded out and killed. The result is a population uniquely low in intelligence, deficient in basic capabilities, high in congenital defects, and suited best to continue as breeding stock for low-tech, tribal societies.

The last thing we need to do is to continue to dilute the non-Muslim population of the Western countries with more such people.

As tragic as their life is, there is simply nothing we can do, except to maintain the West as an absolute barrier against the expansion of Islam, and to provide a refuge for carefully-vetted apostates from Islam, who actually do have the intelligence and inclination to function in a civilized society and who support the freedoms and liberties involved in such a society.

The point of limiting it to girls, esp. young girls, is that they would de-islamicize once removed from Afghanistan. Adoption by Muslim families in the West would not be allowed (yes - strict profiling would be used when placing them for adoption). De-female-ising Afghanistan would certainly be in our interest...

This is an excellent proposal, well worth the money. The afghans get rid of their unwanted girls which is probably 90% of them and these girls will no longer face the abuse and degradation of living in a primitive Islamic society. But this on the condition that the girls will no longer be indoctrinated in islam, otherwise you will be importing more islam to the west.

" De-female-ising Afghanistan would certainly be in our interest"

Sorry to disagree with you, but we have NO interest whatsoever in Afghanistan, other than to keep Afghani Muslims out of the US.

The detailed planning for 9-11 was carried out in Hamburg Germany, by Muslims from primarily Saudi Arabia. The FBI actually had the plans for 9-11 on a computer disk, which they were forbidden to examine by insane rules of evidence initiated by the Clinton administration, and continued by the Bush administration up to 9-11. Getting rid of those rules of evidence was the ONE sane thing the Bush administration did.

I fail to see why these facts justify bringing in a population of Muslim girls who are likely to have low intelligence ,congenital defects, and a commitment to Islam. And, how are we going to vet potential parents and keep Muslims from adopting them? We can't even prevent additional Muslims from immigrating into the US?

The younger the girl, the less the "commitment to Islam." And I suspect older girls would be happy to kiss it goodbye as well. The point is that the Islam in them would wither and die (not so in men/boys) and they would grow into normal human beings and assets to their adoptive countries.

As for who adopts - did you miss my "strict profiling" caveat?

And for the "low intelligence" comment - you might be telling us more about your attitude than about Afghan girls..

I agree, to me this is as much a human rights issue. Let’s get these e young girls out of a country that doesn’t give them any rights and treats them like dogs.

We have western countries that are giving asylum to boatloads of muslims who are claiming their human right are being infringed. But we know that’s just an excuse to settle abroad where they can sponge off the generous western benefit system.

I know the rabid dog muslin groups like CAIR will howl if these girls are weaned away from islam , but too bad, that should be the condition of bringing them here.

Men that follow an ideology that promotes the poisoning of little girls.

We will return to fight and kill these men one day – or enough of them ‘till the rest have our absolute attention and obedience.

There is no other way.

Whining about how difficult it is, or how much it will cost, just puts off the inevitable.

yes you have an excellent proposal here. I have 4 kids and we wnet to adopt another kid and when they found out we had 4 kids they told us to take a hile. literraly to take a hike and there tens of thousand of couple with no kids who are waiting to adopt. adoption also cost a lot of money. alot. so you are right we should pay 1000 each and give them to those who want them for 2000 each and get that extra billion and put it in the trust fund for theiir higher education and yes abbsoulutly no muslim family would be allowed to adopt.

Ah, Reuters bastaridizes the English language again. The term "conservative radicals" doesn't even make any sense. The term "radical" is best reserved for those on the far left and its complement for those on the far right is "reactionary."

Even assuming one wants to use the term "radical" for those also on the the far right (personally I avoid doing this because I think it's sloppy use of the language), calling someone a "conservative radical" is either incorrect because conservatives are main streamers on the right, not extremists, or because, assuming one wants to use the term "conservative" as a synonym for those on the far right (an extra egregious bastardization of language), "conservative radicals" then becomes redundant, assuming once again that the term "radical" can be used to describe far rightists as well as far leftists.

No matter how one looks at this, Reuters is wrong one way or another. Of course, what's really going on is the continued campaign by leftists to discredit the word "conservative," but at least Reuters could do a better job of pushing their agenda here. One term you'll never see from Reuters, however, is the term "radical liberals." Nope, you'll never see this one, not because of sound logic by Reuters but because of Reuters' agenda.

I completely agree w/ this. As all the honor killing examples ought to have shown by now, Muslims can't and won't leave their Islam in their countries of origin and embrace Western values. The last thing we need is a population of Muslim girls who are likely to have low intelligence, congenital defects, and a commitment to Islam. As it is, the US government doesn't see Islam as an enemy to begin w/, so why would they think that them remaining Muslims would be problematic?

Besides, the idea that we have to solve the problem of Muslims for them is by now really old. Leave the country, and the next time a 9/11 happens, just nuke them in return - whether it's the Afghans, Pakis, Egyptians, Iranians or whoever.

But as far as they are concerned, let allah sort them out!

Strange as it may seem - there are a number of Western girls flocked to Islam. Afghanistan will have gone back to square one - can Mr. Bush and Mr. Obama explain it to us the worthiness of our sacrifices made over the past 11 years?
Let us try to get our ladies back to civilization before thinking about adopting Afgani girls. If I can figure this one correctly, adopting an Islamic girl is considered marrying her off young, so it will be hard to imagine they will ever let their young girls to be given to infidels - it is a kind of family honor thing for them.

So, either we should eliminate Talibans and their pathetic anti-female practice or we wash our hands come home and let them rot in their self made cesspool. Do NOT let anyone into the US from Afghansatn and pakistan.

Sorry to sound harsh, but really there is no way western countries should waste their limiited resources on any muzlums, female or otherwise. We have so many deserving and needy people among ourselves, this is where our resources should be spent. The izlumic world has made their bed, most of their female population side with their ideological bretheren, this has been seen time and time again, even in western countries with western upbringing, their females have conspired and sided with honour killings and every other rotten thing izlum has to offer.

I just can't bring myself to care anymore about them, we should take care of our own battered and abused women and children, not one more PENNY for muzlums, male or female; they want their precious allah they can have him!

Those barbarian brutes in the Taliban certainly are obsessed with female education. I guess they're terrified that a little education will encourage girls to reject their miserable plights as sex slaves, child brides, brood mares and chattel. The muslim male beasts always freak out when their lord and master position is threatened. They might prefer young boys to young girls but they all want sons, so women are a necessary evil.

There is no hope for these tribal savages; they are the rotten products of centuries of inbreeding and centuries of islam so it will take centuries to reverse the damage, if it can be reversed. There is nothing noble about the Afghan people although many self-hating, Western fools consider them noble savages, the purest and most laudable citizens of the world. And no, we don't need any more of these primitive throw-backs in the West.

Ah, particularly rancid news like this always brings out the best of the JW crowd. [/sarcasm]

Notice how it's the conservatives who are responsible. It's those damn Republicans

And there are people who claim the Taliban do not have WMDs. If they can kill their own women and children like this, why do people still believe they would never attack major cities in the West? The Muslim Brotherhood's global jihad has declared the U.S. conquered for Islam and would have no qualms about poisoning a major city and holding the country hostage with the threat of attacking another city (ironic since they have only two major cities, Mecca and Medina).

I agree with you on this one, Ronald.

My sense of chivalry has worn very thin in regards to the women of the Islamic world. I'm old enough to remember the "Marg-bar-Amrika" chador-wearers of 1979 and will never forget the hijabbed fat lady with ugly glasses dancing on the West Bank street on 9/11.

If the women and girls of Afghanistan really want to be treated equally, let them mob some Taliban goon and pull his beard out by the roots strand by strand.

Ah, yes—the "real" problem here is not vile Muslims poisoning women and girls in order to keep them properly isolated and ignorant in the name of Islam, but decent Infidels wrestling with the question of whether or not we can save the victims from their own savage creed.

You are repulsive.

Our soldiers were there a long time.
No orders were given to build a safety zone for women on the border with another country, a bunker, a mini West Berlin. American slaves had the Underground road (I believe), Eastern Europeans had the Berlin Wall to jump through (many died, but went for it). What did our stay in Afghanistan do specifically for Afghani women? Nothing. They talked to the men. Some of these women will gladly have a country give them a piece of desert to live in,it doesn't have to be the US... they'll dig wells with their bare hands. Some of these women are so traumatized that they do not want to "breed", and they find men despicable and abhorrent. Some of these women feel abandoned and betrayed, as their safety and well being was neither a prerogative or a priority in our Afghan "mission". Inbred, burned with acid and locked indoors, they know now that there's life elsewhere, but no one created an open road for them to migrate, no country offered asylym in exchange for work in the fields. If that had happened, if our convoys would have secured just one road of escape, thousands of them women would have walked out. Just look at the Time magazine page from last year, Aisha, her nose cut. Her eyes are full of knowledge and bitterness. She was taken to the US and had surgery, but it was done in secret, she was smuggled ,... by regular people who cared.
Politicians do not really want to stress on that.... if they had empowered women and given them a voice, our mission in Afghanistan would have been a success.
Now all the news of abuse and death of women appear as isolated events. Well, every death in an Aushwitz crematorium was also an isolated event, was it? But there was a pattern of extermination and dehumanization, wasn't it?
Politicians are itching, they want these women to stay quiet and die quiet, it's too much trouble, for nothing.
I mean, they're just women, arent' they?

I can sum up the solution to Afghanistan with one word, "Victory".
That is what is needed to help Afghan women Afghan men and anyone else in that unfortunate oountry that needs help.
Wars cannot be won by half way measures. It did not work in South Vietnam, it did not work in the Middle East and it will not work in Afghanistan.
Do not try to tell me that 21st century armies cannot defeat a
bunch of fanatics who think they still live in the 10th century.
In WW2 we defeated the much stronger armies of Hitler and the Imperial Japanese, so why are these rag heads such a big problem?
The answer is lack of political will. The fact is if we cannot defeat them in conventional warfare ( a fact I still find hard to accept), we can end the conflict by bombing the country and making them start all over again as we did with Germany and Japan.
Leaving women in that country to become slaves to the taliban is simply not an option, in my view.

The British couldn't civilize Afghanistan, nor could the Soviets nor the Americans and their allies.

Now, if we weren't fighting this war with one arm tied behind our back—and if we hadn't cluelessly allowed a Shari'ah constitution—it would certainly help. But I believe Islam is too intrinsic a part of that benighted outpost of the Muslim world for us to have ever made much progress there.

In fact, most of the Muslim countries partially civilized by Western influence are now returning to Islam with a literal vengeance. We see this in the countries of the "Arab Spring", in the Levant, in sub-Saharan Africa, in Indonesia and Malaysia and Turkey.

Afghanistan is not Germany or Japan—essentially civilized countries who had recently embraced Fascism just before WWII. You would have to go back *centuries* to Afghanistan's Buddhist and Hindu past—which has been despised and obliterated—to find anything not infused with the brutality of Islam. The Taliban's destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas shows what Islam thinks of such "Jahillya".

More:

Leaving women in that country to become slaves to the taliban is simply not an option, in my view.
.................................

Even with our presence, women are being "Honor Killed" and having their schools blown up. The Taliban is poised—partly, insanely, with our clueless "blessing", to pour back into the region as soon as we pull out.

It has taken trillions of dollars and the lives of thousands of good soldiers just to prevent the Taliban from stoning women in the streets.

I also worry about what is going to happen to women, children, minorities and what passes for moderates in Afghanistan when we go.

The problem is that all too many Afghans believe that the Taliban represent pure Islam—and what can we possibly say that would prove them wrong?
