74% of Pakistanis hate the U.S.

Send them a few more billion. That'll fix it.

"74% Pakistanis consider United States an enemy country," from PressTV, June 27 (thanks to Maxwell):

Three-in-four Pakistanis consider the United States an enemy country, a new survey conducted by the Washington-based Pew Global Attitudes Project indicates.

The Pew survey, which was published on its website on Wednesday, said that last year 69 percent used to hate the US but in 2012 the figure jumped to 74 percent.

The survey also showed an exceptionally low regard for US President Barack Obama among Pakistanis. They believe Obama is as bad a leader as former US President George W. Bush had been during his final year in office....

Well, at least we agree on that.

Well, they join the Democratic Party,

Shanklin's "The Democrat Party Hates the USA"

For me, I LOVE this country and thank the Lord Jesus that I was born here.

I know I'm supposed to be concerned that the average Pakistani hates America, but somehow I can't get too worked up over it...

74% ? What a coincidence. That same percentage of Pakistanis think that they're never going to get a green card.

Well, there are probably more village-idiots per square mile in 'the land of the putrid' than anywhere else on the planet, so it's sort of understandable given that context.

At least you can't BUY their friendship (that's the only thing that I like about Pakistan). We should end ALL aid to muslim dominated countries and close all embassies. Any US citizens that goe to visit or work are on their own!

Interesting, India is the most pro-Israeli country in the world, and the neighbour Pakistan hates America and Israel with passion...Fill an area with Muslims, you will soon find hate and anger spawning fast and notions of democracy and tolerance withering away! I guess the survey is surprisingly "positive" to Pakistanis as it left 26 percent, I guess at least 22 percent said "no comments"

--update--
From Asia Times: A recent survey concerning India and the United States has set off a debate here. Contrary to opinions in many other countries, especially Muslim-majority ones, the survey by the Washington-based Pew Global Attitudes Project states that America's image is the best in India.

"Fully 71% in India express a positive opinion of the United States, compared with 54% three years ago," the survey says. Favorable opinion of the US in India was higher than any of the countries surveyed, including Canada (where it declined from 72% three years ago to 59%) and the United Kingdom, where it dipped considerably from 75% to 55%. Indians also had the most favorable opinion of the American people - 71% compared to 70% in Britain, 66% in Canada, 65% in Germany, 64% in France, 61% in Russia and 43% in China. The survey was conducted among 17,000 people in the US and 15 other countries from April 20 to May 31.

A healthy majority of Indians view Americans as "inventive" (86%), "hard-working" (81%) and "honest". Fewer than half associate the negative traits "greedy" (43%), "violent" (39%), "immoral" (33%) and "rude" (27%) with Americans.

Indians, however, echoed similar sentiments that at least one more country should check US military might. In India, 81% want a rival to US, compared to 74% in China and Russia. There was also dwindling support in India for the US-led "war on terror" (52%) , as well as the invasion of Iraq.

Though the survey was released in the second half of June, discussions continue to range about why Indians view America in such high regard, and better that what the rest of the world thinks. Some of the logic is rooted in the socio-economic interactions between the two countries.

A recent survey also revealed that 100 percent of the people in my household think Pakistan sucks, from top to bottom and everywhere in between...

Update again - The other side of the coin!

"The survey also showed an exceptionally low regard for US President Barack Obama among Pakistanis. They believe Obama is as bad a leader as former US President George W. Bush had been during his final year in office...."

Well now I am in agreement with Pakistanies on this.

These same Pakistanis are dying to come over here...

From http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/06/us-officials-find-up-60-pakistani-stowaways-in-cargo-ship/

[US officials seized cargo today from a ship with goods from India and Egypt. As many as 60 Pakistani stowaways were found on board.]

Comforting thought, isn't it - that we now have this steady inflow of Somalis and Pakistanis into this country....

Long term effects of our efforts to take "the light of democracy and womens rights" to Islamic coutries post 9/11, will continue to separate the Muslim world from the West. Its quite sad really, that Muslim countries do not appreciate the huge efforts we are making to bring them to modernity.

I hope Obama loses the election so that our justified efforts to bring democracy and womens rights to the Islamic world continue.

obama just won re election. the suprem court udheld obama care. it is so disheartning here that everyone blames obama. I am no fan of obama. i came to us in 1976 when cater was the president and everyone of them ever since are in bed with pakistanis and the saudis. the biggest culprit was GWB because of his ties to oil industry. look, unless we change the staus quo, nothing is going to change my friend. 74% paksitanis hate us! that means around 120 million people who use our federal tax $$$$ and at the same time hate us.
M

I was sure it was 75%. So it's not as bad as I thought...

"I guess the survey is surprisingly "positive" to Pakistanis as it left 26 percent, I guess at least 22 percent said "no comments"

Yeah. I'd say things are definitely looking up (!)

I believe Pakistanis expect someone called Hussein to attain a lot more Muslim standards in general (!) Something that can only be made apparent outwardly by growing a beard, wearing baggy trousers and sandals, and the like. He might not be so squeaky clean with regards to abstaining from eating pork, either...

Obama is a munafiq, to put it like that, not up to their standards, no matter how hard he tries to appease them. Maybe he'd stand a chance to butter up Pakistanis for real if he'd start to throw off the suit, for instance (!)

The main link to the PEW article is here:
http://www.pewglobal.org/2012/06/27/pakistani-public-opinion-ever-more-critical-of-u-s/

If 74% of Pakistanis* think the U.S. is an enemy, then that should be taken into consideration in the U.S.'s immigration policy.

*The percentage is likely higher among Pakistani Muslims.

http://www.pewglobal.org/2012/06/27/chapter-1-views-of-the-u-s-and-american-foreign-policy-5/
80% of Pakistanis view the U.S. "unfavorably".

Also recent poll on Egyptians:
http://www.pewglobal.org/2012/06/28/morsis-election-highlights-egyptian-views-of-islams-role-in-new-democracy/

A poll on immigration (from 2007), indicating that overall the majority of people want further restrictions and controls on immigration. (This is in contrast to the politicians in the west, who want to either maintain or high levels of immigration or increase it).
http://www.pewglobal.org/2007/10/04/world-publics-welcome-global-trade-but-not-immigration/

It is somewhat misleading how PEW reports the section on Pakistani views (favorable, unfavorable, don't know/no response) various terrorist groups, which it lists and treats as separate items:
http://www.pewglobal.org/2012/06/27/chapter-2-attitudes-toward-extremism/

In fact, Muslims can and do have favorable views of some Islamic terrorist groups but not others. What we need to know is whether they support at least one Islamic terrorist group on a long list of such groups. The average support for each group among Pakistanis appears to be roughly about 18%. However, the support for at least one group on the list is likely to be much higher. PEW doesn't report this information.

"74% of Pakistanis hate the U.S." --article headline

The Pakistanis in Pakistan or the ones residing in the US?

No doubt the Gallup poll would probably find that 75% of Pakistanis love America!!

With Dalia Mogahed in charge of polling!!

I bet it's 9 out of 10 in Toronto.

Well, at least we agree on that.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Conservatives don't want to hear it. George W. Bush gave us Barack Hussein Obama, not to mention John Roberts.

Re America and India.

Can anyone tell me whether the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence have been carefully translated into Hindi and (just for fun) Sanskrit, in the interests of fostering greater understanding, among Indians, of what America is supposed to be about?

Furthermore: if it hasn't already been done, a nice diglot pamphlet containing John Quincy Adams' classic essays on the Russo-Turkish war and on Greece (which essays comprise a lot of very lucid analysis of Islam and the Jihad and Mohammedan treacherousness), in English and in a Hindi translation, might be a good idea. Along with an account of the fledgling USA's bruising experiences with Muslim pirates off the North African coast, and the creation of the US navy and Marine force in response to same. I wonder how many Anglophone Indians have heard of C S Forester's excellent little book, 'The Barbary Pirates'? I commend it to any of our Indian posters and lurkers who may be looking over my shoulder. And if it hasn't been translated into Hindi, I urge that such a translation be done; because it offers a clear, accurate and dramatic account of newly-born America's very first military encounters with Muslims.

If America's politicians and diplomats were to achieve the same level of clarity vis a vis Islam and the jihad, as was achieved by Jefferson and by John Quincy Adams at the very beginning of America's life as a nation, non-Muslim Indians who are mustering up the courage to resist Islam would find themselves with a powerful friend.

when you live in medieval ignorance as your heads of state lie to everyone they deal with and funnel billions in aid to their own coffers, you gotta hate someone. who better than a free, powerful nation, with every freedom all pent up twisted ashamed moslem men crave.

here's a survey. 100% of the western men writing this post consider pakistan a corrupt, desolate, cruel, backwards sort of place. ancient tribalisms, superstitions, islam and hatred, filth, corruption, international disgrace etc. all make the place unworthy of any aid, any voice at any world council, any hearing at any organisation based on rationality, freedom, peace or democracy. its a relic of the last caliphate, a technology, amenities and safety nightmare,a health hazard, a laughing stock. a cess pit.

of course they hate. theyre wrong. theyre miserable and theyre jealous. god help their women.

74% of Pakistanis hate the U.S.
.............................

Most Pakistanis don't even even regard American "foreign aid" positively.

More Pakistanis consider peaceful India a threat than they do the Taliban.

Even Pakistanis who dislike "extremists" don't actually want to do anything to actively oppose them.

Add to that Pakistan's appalling blasphemy laws, "Hudood" laws, abuse of women, oppression and violence towards their non-Muslim minority, and I'd say being hated by these pious thugs is *a damn badge of honor*.

The primitive muslim savages in Pakistan cultivate hatred, resentment, and gratuitous violence because they are the defective spawn of a repulsive religion and culture. They are what islam at its worst creates--- degenerate, inferior, inbred beasts. I only wish they would all remain in their beautiful, idyllic 'land of the pure' instead of polluting the civilized world with their unwanted presence.

Now I have to mention the Dairy Queen up the street that was bought by a local Paki who then fired all the black women who worked there and "brought on" a bunch of fellow Pakis. Did they overstay their visas? Are these critical jobs that could be filled only by overseas help? By what criteria do foreigners come here and literally take jobs from the locals?

Bill Gates probably does it every day too. Ah yes, the Noble Immigrant myth endures.

“The survey also showed an exceptionally low regard for US President Barack Obama among Pakistanis. They believe Obama is as bad a leader as former US President George W. Bush had been during his final year in office....

Well, at least we agree on that.”

Well, no, we do NOT “agree on that”

If you think that G.W. with all his faults is even in the same universe as Barak Hussein Obama, you are an idiot.

Well intentioned incompetence is not the same as malfeasance, perfidy, treachery and yes, active subversive treason. You know this – or should know it.

Why surprised, would we not hate another country when they would do drone attacks in our country and kill innocent people. How many years have we been doing attacks in their country. We are only creating more enemies.
We need to stay out of these Islam nations.

Kudos to Topm Billely and Kdisgarba for hitting the nail on the head!

Seriously, what follows is difficult for me to say, for there are a number of foreign countries for which I have fond or semi-fond feelings (Israel, Taiwan, Thailand, the UK, Canada are among them). But the whole column on Pathologicalstan and it comments section underline why US foreign policy has to get a little more hard-headed and learn to say "too bad" to so many of the world's sob stories. While I continue to support the diaconal ministries and missions of churches, I don't see a line in the Constitution that supports the subsidizing of foreign governments and I do know something of Washington's warning against entangling alliances.

The USA sunk lots of aid into South Asia since 1947. Yet Pakistan, which certainly received the larger per capita share, hates us; and India, while more positive towards us, still thinks we need a rival. Hence, some kind of fundamental mistrust towards the USA exists.

The late, unlamented Soviet Union was far better at the empire game. Its aid was far more stingy and had far more strings attached, but it was consistently winning the Cold War until the Communist system's own internal contradictions made it vulnerable to a US Presidency that decided to hit back (Reagan's). Frankly, I think that the chief advantage the Soviets had (apart from the power of Marxist mythology and eschatology over the so-called intelligentsia down to about 1980+) was that they were not subject to the criticisms of a free media and public opinion, and hence could stand by any ally, no matter how unsavory and bloody-minded. American Constitutional liberties (if they survive the Obama era) will always put a brake on an American government's grandiose plans to remake the world.

At this stage of the game, we know that history's going to happen no matter what (and it will NOT head in the direction that either soft or hard Marxists predict); and trying to hold it back is only going to bankrupt us all the more.

This is all Bush's fault. They love Barry.

Tha 3 major petential muslim terrorist cells in canada were either pakistanis or pakistani-canadians wanting to slaughter 10'000+ civilains via truck-bombs.

The smug/wlite/wealthy/white/liberals keep saying that ALL Cultures are equal and that ALL faiths have terrorists.
But that's just to save their butts as if the islamic suprermacy goons will spare them from a beheading as a friend during the creeping Shariah.
The quran ORDERS muslims to kill EVERY unbeliver if they don't convert or pay a head-tax,but what's odd is that Olivia Chop from the NDP had won her MP seat in Toronto by promising the Chinese a $50'000'000.00 pot of gold for the redress in Canada fro mthe Head-tax on the Chinese 100 years ago. The NDP has been in bed with CAIR and and ISNA and the Arar's along with crusading for the Terrorist Omar Khadr, so it's a bit rich for MP Chow to now embrace a Head-tax on non-muslims in canada and on Earth when the islamists will just slit her throat and remove her head as the yell Allah u Akbar .

Poor NDP and Olivia Chow, those communist/socialists think that islam=peace and that muhammad was a good guy .
Mo was a homophobic/misogynistic/pedophile.

And the remaining 26% are lying

Maria wrote:

..........................

I'm sorry, Maria. While a very few drone strikes have gone awry, the vast majority *have not*. It is a time-honored tactic for Jihadists to claim that every strike against them has killed no one but women and children and small, fuzzy bunny rabbits. What rot.

And, in any case, Jihadists have killed *far more* Pakistani civilans than drones ever have—and, moreover, have done so quite intentionally.

Were Pakistan a really a "partner in the war on terror", they would no more hate us for a few unintentional errors than would the French during WWII when we were working to free them from the Nazis.

But Pakistan is *at best* completely schizophrenic about Jihadists—they threaten both the government and ordinary Pakistanis, but so many in the "Land of the Pure" are very much in sympathy with them, because they present *true Islam*.

More:

We need to stay out of these Islam nations.
..........................

Well, we're largely in agreement here. I'm glad we went in to get bin Laden—but at this point we should cut both our losses and our "foreign aid" and leave this benighted region to its own devices.

Don't expect the residents of this Jihad-ridden stretch of Dar-al-Islam to hate us filthy Infidels any less as result, though...

Shouldn't Pakistanis be more concerned about the Taliban beheading their soldiers?

"Pakistani Taliban beheads seven soldiers: 'Our fight will continue until the establishment of sharia law in Pakistan'"

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2012/06/pakistani-taliban-beheads-seven-soldiers-our-fight-will-continue-until-the-establishment-of-sharia-l.html

Instead, they are more interested in thwarting efforts to fight the pious beheaders...

All Muslims are our enemy.

How many of us have to die before we come to that conclusion?

Answer: Too many.
