Islamic hate graffiti at WTC memorial

“Allah Wakbar” looks like a native Arabic speaker who is not too familiar with English attempting to render “Allahu akbar.”

“NYPD Probes ‘Allah’ Graffiti at WTC Memorial,” by Michael King for WNBC New York, June 28 (thanks to Mackie):

NEW YORK — The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating after the words “Allah Wakbar” were found written on a granite seat at the Sept. 11 memorial on Tuesday, law enforcement sources tell NBC 4 New York.

A private custodian cleaning the area found the graffiti, written in pink and black marker, on a seat in the plaza area between the north and south pools around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators believe someone wrote the words that day. No incidents were reported on Tuesday, and the area is not in the view of any security cameras.

After cops were called, the words were removed by a power washer, sources said. The rest of the memorial was inspected, but no other graffiti was found….

If “Allah akbar” translates as “Allah is greatest”, then surely “Allah wakbar” means “Allah is wackiest”. So it must be the work of an islamophobic bigot; CAIR will be demanding an investigation, Obama will be apologizing, and Moslems in Egypt and Pakistan will riot, killing a dozen or so.

Speaking to a crowd of attendees to recent “A Summer Night for Human Rights”, Robert Spencer referred masterfully to “Allah” as “Mohammed’s sock-puppet’ and I think it fits superbly here latest attempt of trumped up Islamophobia “Islamic hate graffiti”? I think all the would-be Islamic “rage-boys” need to lighten up a bit.

    …………………………………

There are a *lot of Muslims who can’t spell worth a sh*t.

It is also possible”I suppose”that this is a put on. There’s an “Allah Wakbar” who appears to be making fun of Jihadists, although mostly in an entirely puerile manner. Here’s his Twitter feed:

    http://twitter.com/allawakbar

I have no idea where he is based, though, or if he has been to NYC.

More than likely it’s exactly what it looks like”poorly-spelled Muslim supremecism, and sneering at the victims of Islam. Ugh.

Watch out, Robert. Ole Ibe is “wringing his hands” and just waiting to blame you and Pam; saying it was an Islamaphobe posing as a radical Muslim vandalizing the WTC Memorial in an attempt to paint Muslims as bad. When victimization of Muslims is hugely rare, and most often perpetrated by Muslims.

But I know you guys don’t care – you know the truth and its just another falsehood spread by bullying Jihadists.

He seems to be a proponent of foul mouthed Smurfist supremacism. Could turn out nasty (!)

Either that, or he is Reza Aslan under another moniker. He’d be juvenile enough for such a thing.

    :-)

    This is newsworthy?

I agree it probably is deliberate “hate graffiti” and not just poor spelling. But as “hate graffiti” goes, this is pretty mild. It isn’t threatening anyone. It isn’t obscene. It would only be considered blasphemous in a sharia state.

I understand why the WTC likes clean walls and would wash off all graffiti, regardless of content, and even if it was coloured pink.

But why did this one make it to the newspapers?

Finally a Islamic jihad crime is considered a hate crime by the West and reported by the media as such. Maybe there is yet hope that useful idiots will snap out of it.

Lets not overlook that CAIR will post a “backlash” Alert for mosques to beef-up security for those attacks that never seem to come.

Some muslims are pushing for a civil war with islam because each time the population grows bigger , the types of attacks and hatred grows exponentially and more bolder to overtly spew death threats right in front of the Police that now side with the anti-Constitution islamic Brown Shirts.

    Know CAIR – NO peace

Diana Summers: This one, in my opinion, “made it to the newspapers” because our often excessively, tolerant society seems to care more about the possibility of offending supremacist, Islamists than preserving the memory of 3000 innocent souls that were brutally murdered on 9/11 by the real “haters”.

    ……………………………..

Diana, I always respect your comments, but I have to sharply disagree with you here.

“Allahu Akbar””if this is what the writer intended”*Is* threatening.

Those who died on the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon died with the savage cries of “Allahu Akbar” ringing in their ears.

And “Allahu Akbar” would not be considered “blasphemous” in a Shari’ah state. In fact, you can find pious Muslims in any number of Shari’ah states rabidly screaming “Allahu Akbar” while burning down churches and stoning women to death.

“Allahu Akbar” in this context is Muslim supremacism’sneering at the victims of Islam and promising more of the same.

  11. says

But the point is that it was not Allahu Akbar – a statement of Islamic supremacism.

It was Allahu Wakbar – a mild statement designed to annoy Muslims.

I suppose it could have been written by an aggressive Muslim who couldn’t spell. But it’s more likely to have been the artwork of someone who wanted to poke fun at Allah.

  12. says

Absolutely right! If we didn’t jump so high when Muslim say jump, this need not be noticed. There is a 90/10 chance it was wrote by a Muslim who hasn’t been “victimized” lately.

Hi Immelman. You said “I prefer Allah Wakbar”

Yeah, it’s not bad but I’m waiting to see if anyone has the courage (stupidity?) to open a confection stand called ‘Allah Snack Bar’.
