Thousands of Muslims call for Hagia Sophia to be turned into a mosque again

And we can very easily guess what kinds of chaos the Patriarch is concerned about.

Muslims turning the Church into a Mosque is the insult, and THAT symbolises their ill-treatment to Christians. That persists to this day. How about turning Judaism holiest site into a Mosque too? Muslims have no shame.

Erasing truth and Christian history are Muslim specialties...

Now we just need the Muslims in Spain to start protesting the Mosque in Cordoba.

Here are examples of the inherent “peace, justice, and tolerance,” indeed, as Obama informed us, “fairness” of Islam vis-à-vis the holiest of holies among Christian places of worship:

997-complete destruction of the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral (northern Spain)

1009-complete destruction of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (Jerusalem)

1453-conversion of Hagia Sophia into a mosque (Constantinople-Sultan Mehmet II’s “first official act” upon seizing the Orthodox Greek imperial capital)

Islam is not and has never been a “religion of peace, justice, and tolerance” vis-à-vis non-Muslims. The facts speak for themselves, if one is willing to open one’s eyes and broaden one's intellect.

The Louvre is next. They've already got their Mosque set up in the Cour Visconti.

'But there is a difference. The mezquita in Cordoba (aligned not with Mecca but with Damascus) was built on top of a pre-existing Visigothic church. The spot was chosen deliberately, just as the "farthest mosque" from which Muhammad ascended into Heaven was chosen by the Umayyad Caliph so carefully to make a religio-political claim to the holiest site of Judaism, and one of the main sites of Christianity as well.

'As for the mosque in Toledo, it was built in 1000, and became a church in about 1200. In other words, it was a mosque for all of 200 years, and has been a church for 800 years.

'Hagia Sophia was the chief Christian structure in what was the first city of Christianity, the largest, richest, most important city, for a thousand years: Constantinople.

*My* prayer is this.

That at some moment in the future, perhaps the distant future, the Hagia Sophia, most beautiful church in all Christendom, the Church of the Holy Wisdom, the Divine Wisdom, *will* be a church once more; the minarets gone from around it; its icons and mosaics restored in all their glory, its bells re-made and re-hung and pealing out joyfully across the city, Constantinople once more.

And the paschal liturgy will be celebrated in all its splendour; but not only in Greek.

And not only in Armenian.

But in Kurdish and Turkish translation.

And many among the hundreds of white-robed catechumens descending into the waters of baptism and rising out of them to new life in Christ will be the Kurdish and Turkish descendants of those Muslim jihad mobsters who seized and pillaged and ruined the city in 1453.

Now *that* is *my* prayer, *my* dream.

For there is *nothing* too hard for the LORD.
