How many more of these do we have to see before I stop seeing anti-Islam commenters make more or less vague allusions to how Muslim females are somehow less dangerous because they are "oppressed"?

I was in Aylesbury town centre on Saturday, and the local Muslims were there at the Market Square with their literature stall and leafleting. All about the Religion of Peace, don't you know.

Didn't engage with them, there were too many Muslims who were "just hanging around", and I was on my own. Their people at one stage were asking stallholders about a person who had been seen taking photographs. Clearly they were trying to find him. But there is no legal restriction on taking photographs in a public place (unless there is a frenzy of "think of the children" going on).

So, did 'sin' and 'worshiping of worldly things' include murdering people, planning to kill as many innocents as possible, attacking people simply because they did not believe what she believed?

'Reverting' to Islam, as she mistakenly calls it, has led her to murder and mayhem. Is that a spiritual life? A purer life?

Anyone who thinks so is stark, staring mad!

*Some* western women, suckered by 'marriage jihad', wake up just in time and get out - hence Sally Mahmoudy's Not Without My Daughter, Phyllis Chesler's 'My Afghan Captivity', and a book called 'Escape! From an Arab Marriage' [sic: it should have been more precisely titled 'Escape! from a Muslim Marriage' ] and a book discussing '33 Secrets Arab Men [translation: Muslim Men] Don't Tell American [sic: Non-Muslim] Women', by one 'Cassandra' (nom de plume). Rosemary Sookhdeo describes a number of such cases in her useful book 'Stepping Into the Shadows: Why Western Women Convert to Islam"; women who were deliberately seduced by Muslim men, went all the way to conversion as well as marriage, and then - mysteriously - suddenly came to their senses and found the will and the means to flee. Others probably 'wake up' but too late...trapped in a Muslim country, their passport taken away, unable to escape; they disappear.

It should be borne in mind that there are perfectly nice, ordinary, decent and quite smart girls - some of them, Rosemary Sookhdeo notes, are daughters of Christian clergy and from churchgoing families - who are carefully targeted and bowled over by sly, charming, plausible Mohammedans posing as handsome princes; they convert, and marry, and then find themselves in bed with an ugly toad.

And our own 'Istanbul Chick' shows that it's possible to be a crashingly naive convert to Islam who converts knowing little about the cult, and *without* the incentive of a falsely-smiling Mohammedan male, but then - as she reads the Quran, as she gets to know the Mob from the inside - comes to her senses and apostates right back out.

But there are other western women who - like some Western males, especially 'prison converts' - are drawn to Islam and stay there because its perversity answers to something already 'off' in their spiritual and psychological make-up. It is possible for a woman, like a man, to do the equivalent of saying 'evil, be thou my good'.

It looks rather as though Lewthwaite is one of those.

How many stories from Western women have I heard, saying Islam fixed up their sinful lives.
Mothers, watch your daughters; don't let them go out and drink and party too much: they might end up converting to Islam (and hating YOU...)

The idea that Western women deem it necessary to convert to Islam tells me quite a lot about such individuals. They are prone to an existential lack of self esteem, for whatever reason. If they were able to assume control of their sense of worth, they would benefit instantly from gender equality in our society. There's something fundamentally wrong with their brain, that's for sure: they want to submit to Islam out of sheer fear for the potential uncertainties an independent way of life carries with it, and thus shut themselves off from the pontential rewards it can reap.
