9/11 mass murderers' Gitmo hearing postponed for Ramadan

There is so much self-contradiction in this postponement, it's staggering. In the first place, it is typical of our official dhimmitude and solicitude for those who have vowed to destroy us that the same Islamic religion that led these Muslims to become mass murderers in the first place is upheld as demanding respect. Yet to recognize the defendants as pious Muslims who wish to observe Ramadan is to contradict an iron dogma of the government and the mainstream media, as well as of Islamic spokesmen in the U.S.: that the 9/11 plotters and hijackers, and Osama bin Laden himself, were not really true Muslims at all.

Why not? Because they so transgressed the peaceful teachings of Islam that other Muslims -- the vast majority -- not only detested what they did on 9/11, but did not even consider them to be Muslims. I have heard this many, many times from Muslims in the U.S. Once, before the State Department went completely mad, I was speaking at a State function and got into a conversation with a State official who referred to the 9/11 hijackers in passing as "Muslims" -- whereupon he looked at me, clearly embarrassed, and stammered, "Well, I shouldn't call them Muslims..."

All right. If they aren't Muslims, why are they getting Ramadan off? Which is it?

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) -- A U.S. military judge is postponing the hearing for five men charged in the Sept. 11 attacks to avoid a conflict with the end of the Muslim holy period of Ramadan.
A lawyer for one defendant says the judge approved the request by all five men on Monday. Prosecutors opposed the delay. The judge denied a defense request not to hold future hearings on Fridays, a day many Muslims do not work. Ramadan this year runs from July 20-Aug. 19....

If Osama Bin Laden wasn't a muslim but some crazy dude that hijacked the religion of peace and love, then why did the U.S. disposed of its body in accordance to islam?

Excellent point, Meryl. And at least part of the rational for treating bin Laden's remains with such "respect" was that otherwise it might "radicalize" "moderate" Muslims.

How could that be the case if they wouldn't have considered bin Laden Muslim to begin with?

But wait....Fibber McHooper and CAIR have said for years now that these 9/11 mass-murdering savages WERE NOT msulim and had NOTHING do do with islam.

So now , Fibber McHooper remains silent to infer his approval that THEY ARE msulims and 9/11 WAS tied to the islamic-supremacy crusades for Global Domination by allah for 7'000'000'000 people?????
Which one is it Hooper, are they muslims NOW and not on 9/11, or were they Muslim on 9/11 but NOW they are not because they Hijack islam and the planes???

It's starting to look like a Moderate-Muslim is someone that hasn't done Jihad yet, but, once they kill infidel the taqqiyah kicks in and there is the overt denial thatthe killer isn't a true muslim.

Wow. Court holidays include Christmas, in deference to the majority of Americans being Christian so as to not disrupt the workforce, but that is different from a whole month being taken off for a small minority of the population. Where does it end? Should the courts be closed for satan worshipper festivals too?

The judge might have considered his decision in advance of a possible defense appeal claiming that the defendants were unable to fully participate in their trial due to Ramadan fasting.

The trial will have to determine if they are guilty and part of that will be determining their motivation, right? Anger at the US? This trial is going to be a minefield if the govt. is set on keeping Islam out of it.

Ramadan fasting consists of missing lunch then gorging themselves in the evening and morning. Are the 911 insects going to gorge themselves twice a day? Who is going to serve them all this great fasting food? Will their be evening banquets and pancake breakfasts? Is there anything more the authorities can do to make the stay at Gitmo more enjoyable?

First, we expand Christmas to include the entire 12 days of Christmas. Then add Advent, Lent, Holy Week, and Pentecost; and individual holidays like Annunciation and Assumption and whatever saints' days are popular in Puerto Rico. Next the Jewish holidays -- Yom Kippur and Hanukkah. Then every national holiday -- MLK day, Lincoln day, Earth day, May day, Memorial day, 4th of July, etc. etc. Finally find some Hindu and Buddhist holidays to fill in the gaps, and bingo! -- we've filled in the entire calendar, and can keep postponing things forever. Let them rot in Gitmo. After 40 years or so, we won't need the hearings.

In spite of all the facts there still some people acting as apologists for Islam who still claim theat "Islam is a peaceful religion that was hijacked by criminals." Lets get with with reality, The truth of the matter is that the Muslims who are engaged in militant jihadism have as shown in the above article that they they are in fact real Muslims and have also works very hard to prove by their own actions that Islam is a religion of violence.

Possibly so, Jamadagnii. But if US military courts are likely to consider this a legitimate appeal, then this *is part of the problem*.

This sort of dhimmitude—especially for those who attacked us—is just madness.
