Indonesia: Muslims threaten violence, vow jihad against Myanmar

AP reported last month that "the unrest seemed to be a reaction to the June 3 lynching of 10 Muslims by a crowd of 300 Buddhists. The lynch mob was apparently provoked by leaflets discussing the rape and murder last month of a Buddhist girl, allegedly by three Muslim men." So apparently the whole thing began with Muslim violence against Infidels.

"Indonesian Islamic hardliners vow jihad for Rohingyas," from AFP, July 13:

Hundreds of Islamic hardliners protested outside the Myanmar embassy in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Friday to "stop the genocide" of Rohingya Muslims in the wake of deadly communal unrest.

Around 300 hardliners from organisations, including the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) and Jemaah Anshorut Tauhid (JAT), threatened to storm the Myanmar embassy in Jakarta as some 50 police officers guarded the building.

"If embassy officials refuse to talk with us, I demand all of you break into the building and turn it upside down," a leader on a loudspeaker told protesters, who shouted "Allahu Akbar" (God is Greatest).

"Every drop of blood that is shed from a Muslim must be paid back. Nothing is free in this world," the man shouted, as protesters carried banners that read "FPI is ready to wage jihad".

"Go to Myanmar and carry out jihad for your Muslim brothers," the man said.

The hardliners left without entering the embassy and proceeded to a UN building to protest.

Communal violence between ethnic Buddhist Rakhine and local Muslims, including the Rohingya, swept Myanmar's Rakhine state in June, leaving dozens dead and tens of thousands homeless.

Around 800,000 Rohingyas live in Myanmar and are considered to be some of the world's most persecuted minorities....

This is terrible. Peaceful Buddhists fighting back. Send for imam Rauf right away so he can tell those Buddhists about their gross misunderstanding of the religion of peace.

Non-muslims cannot defend themselves from muslims, that's haram!.

@ greenpen--As I've said in numerous other posts, Buddhists can be pretty ugly when irked enough. The claim that the Rohingyas raped some Buddhist girls is as good enough a claim to form a lynch mob, just as black-on-white rape once mustered the lynch mobs in the American South.

Buddhists were also the people who gave us half of the long-standing conflict in Sri Lanka, the Boxers in late 19th century China, and perennial blood fueds among the nomads of the Tibetan Plateau. If I had a farm, I'd bet it that once the guest workers in Taiwan try to create a "Little Aceh" somewhere by busting up a small temple or shrine, they'll be glad to be deported in handcuffs once a local Taiwanese Buddhist mob gets through with them.

Yes, the tenets of Buddhism are peaceful enough (it seems to be a common denominator when the ideal lifestyle is that of a celibate male monk), but those who accept them are every bit as much the children of Adam the First as you or I.

While I wouldn't welcome such a development, I suspect that you get a Muslim community leaning a little two hard on its Christian neighbors in the USA (likely to happen before too long, given the Muslim propensity to misjudge forebearance), you could have something pretty ugly happening here in the USA, too, with normally peaceful Evangelicals beating people in the streets and smashing property.

Now, as for the Indonesians who want to go punish the Burmese, I suspect they'll be in for a rough time. The Burmese are actually a pretty warlike and rough people. Just ask the Thais. Then again, the Thais are also a pretty rough and warlike people. Just ask the Cambodians...

So, in a situation which will be familiar to Europeans, the Muslims decided to exert their growing power in Burma by going on a gang-rape rampage. However, unlike the dhimmified Europeans, the Buddhists were very politically incorrect and fought back. Now the Muslims are claiming victim status while continuing their attacks on Buddhists.

I don't really have an opinion on Myanmar being a dictatorship. However, dictatorship or not, I support any regime in Yangon that wants to crack down on Muslims.

Not only are Rohingyas not native to that land, but the south eastern part of Bangladesh - Arakan province - is itself land that Buddhists have been driven away from. So Myanmar should just feel free to send those Rohingyas to Bangladesh. And if Indonesian Jihadis want, they can take the next flight to Dhaka or Chittagong and join the jihad there.

In fact, it would be nice if Myanmar went to war against Bangladesh and tried annexing Chittagong.

Pretty much my view as well.

The Burmese have been doing some pretty nasty stuff to their *non-Muslim* ethnic minority groups - some of whom are largely Christian - as well. I don't approve of that at all; I pray for the Christians and I think that western countries should criticise the Burmese regime concerning *those* human rights abuses of Christian (and other non-Msulim) non-Bama minorities.

But I have no sympathy for the Rohingya Muslims. I have noticed that Aung San Suu Kyi (whose late husband Michael Aris was a secular Jew and a world-class scholar of Buddhist literature) has refrained from taking up the cudgels on their behalf. Sensible woman. (The Muslims and dhimmis are, of course, castigating her severely for this).

The Rohingya are Muslims and they seem to be behaving pretty much like Muslims do anywhere in the world the moment they feel they are strong enough - locally, or regionally, or nationally - to get away with things.

Badly.

The Christianised communities within Burma just want to get on with their lives and be allowed to be peaceful, productiv, loyal citizens.

But the Rohingya are Muslims; Islam programs them to pursue, by hook or by crook, by force or by fraud, this-worldly dominion, not just in this place or that, but **everywhere**. Today, Burma; tomorrow, South East Asia; the day after, the World.

While I don't agree with lynch mobs I think I can see that many communities around the world are fed up to the back teeth with islamic supremacists who commit crimes and play the victims. It's time we all stood up and fought back before it's too late.

This may prove interesting.

The Burmese, er, um ... Myanmarian(?) government are a bunch of tough SOB's.

This may well work out more like the situation in western China than the situation in Paris or Norway.

The Burmese think nothing of mowing down Buddhist protesters with machine guns. I don't expect them to be a lot more shy with the Mohammedans.

We'll see.
