New Jersey imam, member of Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas, "taken aback" that his mosque was under surveillance

And of course the Record has no clue, and portrays Qatanani as an innocent victim, Yet investigative journalist Daniel Greenfield reports that “despite the fact that Mohammed Qatanani was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, the organization that is behind both al-Qaeda and Hamas, despite his own guilty plea to being a member of Hamas, and despite the fact that even in the United States, he had defended a charity that provided funds to children of suicide bombers (this is done as an incentive to reassure terrorists that if they die their families will be taken care of), Qatanani was not deported.”

"N.J. imam says state’s involvement in surveillance was a surprise," by Hannan Adely for The Record, July 10 (thanks to all who sent this in):

HACKENSACK, N.J. — New Jersey law enforcement leaders have denied knowing about widespread surveillance of Muslims by New York City detectives, but state police agencies were involved in at least one joint effort: the monitoring of a Paterson mosque.

State authorities worked with the New York City Police Department to monitor the Islamic Center of Passaic County, led by Imam Mohammad Qatanani, police documents show. The surveillance included the use of an informant at the mosque and intelligence gathering during a three-day rally for the imam in his fight against deportation.

Because of his strong relationship with law enforcement leaders, Qatanani said, he was taken aback by New Jersey’s involvement.

"It was very upsetting for us, especially when our mosque is maybe the most open mosque for all law enforcement and elected and appointed officials," Qatanani said in an interview.

New Jersey officials, including the governor, for months have denied that they knew the full extent of spying by the NYPD at Muslim businesses, mosques and schools in the state — even while NYPD spokesman Paul Browne insisted that New Jersey police had been informed.

Gov. Chris Christie’s office did not respond to a request for comment Monday.

New Jersey imam, member of Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas, "taken aback"
All the way back to Pakistan, hopefully, or wherever this Nematode came from.

"It was very upsetting for us,"
Yes it's always upsetting when people protest at having your foot on their throats!

How do you separate a "good" muslim from a "bad" muslim?

You can't, because the anti-western ideology masquerading as a reiligion (also known as islam) is a "bad" idea, both as an ideology, and as a religion ... religion of death, as it where.

Even after 911, Fort Hood TX, and many other similar events, worldwide, many in the U.S. are still struggling with the fact that islam is hostile to free people, period.

Should the people of any organization, which advocates the violent overthrough of our government, be allowed to flourish in thie country without suveillance?

"How do you separate a "good" muslim from a "bad" muslim?"
A good muslim is a bad person.
A good person is a bad muslim.

"N.J. imam says state’s involvement in surveillance was a surprise,"

Well, of *course* he was surprised ! After having got away with all this:

''Mohammed Qatanani was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, the organization that is behind both al-Qaeda and Hamas, despite his own guilty plea to being a member of Hamas, and despite the fact that even in the United States, he had defended a charity that provided funds to children of suicide bombers (this is done as an incentive to reassure terrorists that if they die their families will be taken care of), Qatanani was not deported.”

He must have thought he was teflon.

How can anybody reasonably complain about government monitoring of a place of worship that presumably has open doors to anyone who chooses to walk in and listen? It baffles me how anyone with nothing to hide can protest that.

I doubt VERY much your average Buddhist temple or Catholic church cares one whit about a homeland security employee sitting at the back listening to the sermon. Can you imagine anyone other than a Muslim cleric protesting such "scrutiny"?

"...especially when our mosque is maybe the most open mosque for all law enforcement and elected and appointed officials," Qatanani said in an interview.

Do I hear him unwittingly acknowledging that other mosques in this country are not so "open?" Hmmmmm?

"It was very upsetting for us..."

I understand about upset--9/11 and Fort Hood are still "very upsetting" for me, too. So, can I claim victim-status like the imam?

Aren't we playing into their hands when we indiscriminately use "Muslims" without at least qualifying the word, term or statement being used? Like "certain Muslims" or Muslims suspected of or denote (SIC) next to the statement. etc. etc.

I know I wouldn't like to read, "Wide Surveillance of Italians" in the morning paper.

I'm as opposed to this kind of reporting as much as I'm opposed to their political agenda.

Since all Mahoundians are obligated to jihad as a duty to Allah, there is no such thing, as certain Mahoundians or some Mahoundians...There is only Islam, and there are only Mahoundians...

Not all Italians are Mafiosi. But all Mafiosi are...Mafiosi.

Not all Germans were card-carrying Nazi party members. But all card-carrying Nazi party members were...Nazi party members; once you got to know the German community well enough, one learnt how to spot the Nazi sympathisers, in the 1930s.

Not all Arabs [nor all Persians, nor all South Asians, from the Subcontinent] are Muslims. But all *Muslims* are Muslims, paid-up members of the Mob, unless they have publicly apostasised (in which case they are in danger from any member of the Mob who decides to activate the sharia rule that says an apostate must be killed).

Once the police got to know the Italian communities, in Australia or in the USA, they learnt who was in the Mafiosi and who wasn't; and then they focused on *those*.

The analogy with your line about 'Italians' would not be 'surveillance of Muslims' but preliminary surveillance of ethnicities known to be *mostly* Muslim - Arab, South Asian, Somali, Iranian, Turkish, for example.

After a while one would get to know, and learn how to spot, the Arabic-speaking *Christians* in their various flavours (Assyrians and Chaldeans from Iraq, the 'Palestinian' Arab Christians, the Copts, the Maronites from Lebanon), the South Asian Hindus and Sikhs (and Christians), the few Somalis who have apostasised and joined Christian churches, the Iranians who are Zoroastrian or from the old dhimmi churches or who have apostasised from Islam and formed little Evangelical churches, the Turks who have apostasised and formed little churches or joined existing churches, and one would be able to distinguish them from the Muslims.

And then one would focus on the Muslims; because you simply cannot know who among them is already Jihad-minded [some make a big show of their allegiance to the Mob, parading around in beards and pyjamas or in burqa or niqab, but others conceal their hostile intentions behind a clean shave and a suit, or a hijab-less coiffure and a slinky dress] and who is currently inactive but may suddenly Go Jihad in the future. Of course, among the 'inactives' *are* those who are going to jump in the *other* direction: people with the same mindset as, say, our friend Fineliving or Mesdames Wafa Sultan and Nonie Darwish would have had when they first arrived in America; people still calling themselves Muslims but full of gnawing *doubts* and discontents about Islam, and proceeding, in fits and starts, toward the little door marked EXIT. Those people - the apostates-in-posse - are likely to be quite fearful of the sharia-pushers and the fire-breathing Imams, and only too happy for such to be identified and taken out of circulation by Infidel law enforcement).

if he has nothing to hide,, why is he upset?? he knows that we know islam is a military ideology and not a peaceful religion!

Thank you for responding to my comment. You've made clear, in many ways, on what I thought was a pretty good anology. Sorry, I must have lost my head.

Mr. Mohammed Qatanani is putting to good use taqiyya to gain the trust of we kaffirs.

gerard,

Not to pick nits, but what does a good person, who is a nazi, do?

I see no difference between islam, and nazism, or communism, or (take your pic bad 'ism).

Good people don't make bad ism followers, they get the flock out of the bad ism altogether.
