Pamela Geller: Obama's epic failure in Afghanistan

In "Obama's epic failure in Afghanistan" in WND today, Pamela Geller excoriates Obama's ludicrous and self-defeating policies in Afghanistan:

Fresh on the heels of the horrible news of last weekend’s slaughter of American troops comes this new and even more horrible news. Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai last week invited his great rival, Taliban leader Mullah Omar, to lay down his arms and … run for president of Afghanistan.
“Mullah Mohammad Omar can come inside Afghanistan anywhere he wants to,” said Karzai.

Where does he think Omar is? Sheltered in Pakistan the way bin Laden was?

“He can open political office for himself but he should leave the gun,” Karzai also said. “He along with his friends can come and create his political party, do politics, become a candidate himself for the elections. If people voted for him, good for him, he can take the leadership in his hand.”

This is yet more of the poisonous fruit from Obama’s anti-freedom foreign policy (something I have exposed all the way through his presidency, and detailed in my book, “The Post-American Presidency,” back in 2009). We have come to a terrible end in Afghanistan. Allowing Mullah Omar to run for president in Afghanistan would be like allowing Hitler (had he been alive) to run for fuehrer after the war.

Mullah Omar has been wanted by the U.S. State Department since October 2001. There’s a $10 million reward on his head. He sheltered Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida killers in the years prior to the Sept. 11 attacks. He had a hand in the 9/11 attacks, and is still directing the Taliban’s ongoing war against the U.S.-led NATO forces and the government of Afghanistan.

Also last weekend, Obama declared that Afghanistan is a “major non-NATO ally.” The non-NATO ally declaration allows for streamlined defense cooperation, more money, expedited purchasing ability of American equipment and easier export control regulations.

And he has just committed to more jizya for the Taliban....

There is just no end to Mr. Obama's treasonous behavior. He used the election promise of bringing home our troops, yet he continues to hold them down for global jihadists to pick them off. He has made himself king and does not intend to leave office and we need to demand that Congress impeach him. www.impeachpresidentobama.weebly.com

All the more reason to get out of Afghanistan, now that Bin Laden sleeps with the fishes.

Clearly, Karzai's move is necessitated by the Taliban being deeply entrenched in Afghanistan, and further, having a message that probably resonates with a large number of Afghan people. While it is probably feasible to hunt down the Taliban root and branch, the cost in troops, material, and wealth is probably prohibitive. Any effort there will also depend heavily on our relationship with Pakistan, which, as everyone knows, has been playing a double game in the war on terror all along.

I will give Obama credit for giving the go ahead on the mission that took out Osama Bin Laden. But the Democratic Party's mantra that Afghanistan is the "war we must win" commits the US to a deeper and increasingly costly no-win mission.

Oh please...Of course Obama failed (or is failing) in Afghanistan. Everybody back to Alexander the Great has failed in Afghanistan. Obama's silly, naive policies haven't helped any nor has the politically correct approach to modern war, but that armpit-of-the-world has always been ungovernable and unconquerable. My great-grandchildren will be wondering what to do about those murderous idiots.

Do you really expect any sovereign nation to do America's bidding? US has been roundly defeated in Afghanistan and like the Soviets and the British before them is retreating with tail between the legs. Our dear, dear friends in Pakistan can choke off any supplies by not just closing the routes but by blowing up our trucks and demanding exorbitant ransoms. If Karzai invites one of the leaders of the feuding gangs to give up weapons and join the democratic process, the call should be applauded as this can lead to less strife and easier withdrawal of US forces - something only defeated armies do. It might even bring him out in the open where a missile can dispatch his sorry posterior to smithereens. I think it is a very clever ploy.

If the United States legislators had any sense they would impeach Obama. But they don't so they wont.

Islam is in a win win situation against non-Muslims. And the non-Muslims are in a no win situation, not because they can't win but because they haven't a clue who the enemy is, where the enemy is, they don't know the ideology of the enemy. And they don't know the enemies commitment or motivation. How can the U.S. expect to win under such pitiful conditions?

Those conditions wont get better until our legislators stop asking the enemy questions regarding how to do this or that. I mean how ignorant is that? Can you imagine asking Hiters ZZ how to defeat Hitler? Both the Muslims and our own media have proven over the last 5 decades that they are very bias. So why would you ask for their oppinion? But that is exactly what the congress does if they have a question. Like I know, we can ask the Muslim Brotherhood what we should do.

What fools we have in Washington D.C.. How can we expect to win this thing when we don't know anything about our enemy?

Shame on our leadership... They are commiting treason and think nothing of it.
