Robert Spencer: Why Michele Bachmann Is Right About Keith Ellison

In FrontPage this morning I discuss the roiling controversy over Congresswoman Michele Bachmann's call for investigation of Muslim Brotherhood influence in the government -- specifically with regard to Congressman Keith Ellison:

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has accused Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) of having a “long record of being associated” with the Hamas-linked Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Evoking the days of McCarthyism, a common charge being leveled at Bachmann these days, Ellison responded: “I am not now, nor have I ever been, associated with the Muslim Brotherhood.” He accused Bachmann of religious bigotry:

“I think she has a very narrowly prescribed definition of who belongs and who doesn’t. And there’s a whole bloc of people she don’t like. I think she thinks that we’re evil because we don’t understand God the way she does….It’s also about marginalizing and alienating a certain group of Americans who she does not view are American enough.”

Not content with that, he accused her of petty attention-seeking:

“But you have to ask yourself, you know, why did she make this so public? Why did she seem to be seeking public attention for these allegations she was making? If she really had actionable intelligence, why wouldn’t she go to the agencies that investigate these things? I think the answer is clear that she wanted attention. That was her goal all along.”

The only problem with Ellison’s wounded-martyr stance toward Bachmann’s accusations is that what she said is true: Ellison really does have a “long record of being associated” with Hamas-linked CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood.

As long ago as 2006, Ellison’s closeness to Nihad Awad, co-founder of Hamas-linked CAIR, was a matter of public record. Awad, who notoriously said in 1994 that he was “in support of the Hamas movement,” spoke at fundraisers for Ellison, raising considerable sums for his first Congressional race. According to investigative journalist Patrick Poole, Ellison has appeared frequently at CAIR events since then, despite the fact that CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements. Its California chapter distributed posters telling Muslims not to talk to the FBI.

Poole explains that “according to Justice Department, Awad is a longtime Hamas operative. Multiple statements made by federal prosecutors identify Awad as one of the attendees at a 1993 meeting of US Muslim Brotherhood Palestine Committee leaders in Philadelphia that was wiretapped by the FBI under a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant. The topic of discussion during that 1993 meeting was how to help Hamas by working in the U.S. to help sabotage the Oslo Peace Accords.” But none of that fazed Ellison.

CAIR is also linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. Awad and CAIR’s cofounder, Omar Ahmad, were officials of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) before founding CAIR. A captured internal Muslim Brotherhood document lists the IAP as one of the Brotherhood’s allied groups in the U.S.
And as for the Muslim Brotherhood itself, in 2008 Ellison accepted $13,350 from the Muslim American Society (MAS) to go on a pilgrimage to Mecca. What is the Muslim American Society? The Muslim Brotherhood. “In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews. One of the nation’s major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members.” So reported the Chicago Tribune in 2004, in an article that is now carried on the Muslim Brotherhood’s English-language website, Ikhwanweb. The Muslim American Society, according to Steven Emerson, director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, “is the de facto arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S. The agenda of the MAS is to … impose Islamic law in the U.S., to undermine U.S. counterterrorism policy.”

He is in thicker than molasses...I keep waiting for him to make a public statement of concern about Rasool Obama and Hillary getting cozy with the Bro's, but nothing yet...
If nothing else, Kieth is connected to the Bro's and all terrorist groups by Allah, the Quran, Islam, and the ummah...He is not exempt from the obligation to participate in jihad, and neither is Huma...

How is it that West, with America at the front, abandons Christians to the tender mercies of Sharia Islam? Even if Islamists are not in power, it does everything to put them in power, and thus actively aids in the destruction of Christianity. Its the equivalent of "Fast and Furious", with the prime aim of destroying Christianity in the West.

And how is it that the once evil empire of the USSR, is now the only one protecting beleaguered Christians in Islamic countries?

“So it will be,” Mr. Putin said. “There is no doubt at all.”

Let's keep in mind who votes for Democrats, and also which party affiliation Muslims choose when seeking higher office in the U.S.

Last week here a liberal poster excoriated Michelle Bachmann as equal to Islamists for her Christian views (obedient to spouse, unscientific, kook).

While the Republican Party has its share of tools, the biggest supporters of our freedoms come exclusively from their ranks (Bachmann, Gohmert, Issa). It's quite unhelpful to rip pols like Bachmann for her personal spirituality when it does not interfere with our larger freedoms.

Keith Ellison, Democrat, is one of the most vile representatives in the U.S. Congress. His district is a collection of liberals, minorities, and his own personal ummah--all pandered to by the most un-American poser ever. Ellison thinks the United States in the problem.

Strange days ( or is that daze) indeed, we have Obama claiming he's a Christain when noting show he is, and now, Ellison denying he's a devout muslim in support of CAIR and the MB when he himself made it clear that he was recruited by the MB MSA on Campus.

Look, he was a Failed-Christian too lazy to understand his faith, and now he's a failed-muslim too stupid to see the noose that awaits him for being Black and not a pure Arab muslim as Muhammad asserted as the Master-race.

How ood to be free from slavery and then volunteer to go back to the work-farms for islam and muslims one day .

The only surprise so far is that our Western MSM have not yet labeled the Russian Orthodox church as religious Right, or even Far Right.

America favours Islam to such an extent that they drove Serbs out of their ancestral land of Kosovo, handing it over to Albanian Muslims. This was done in Europe and not somewhere in Africa. Now the usual churches are being destroyed, and any sign of Christian Kosovo obliterated. America's act in Kosovo was not only immoral, but ignored history, as well as international law.

So long as Russia refuses to recognise Kosovo in the UNSC, Kosovo is in limbo, and any power that thinks, when the time is right, to return Kosovo to the status quo-ante, will have international legitimacy, and those who oppose it will be outlaws.

Pray that America can manage to survive until someone like Rep Allen West gets elected.

Then see what happens when A/ the American jizya/ tribute to all manner of Mohammedan entities gets cut off, just. like. that (and some gets judiciously redirected to countries such as East Timor and South Sudan, for the shoring up of their defences against Jihad)

and B/ the American embassy in Israel moves to the Old City of Jerusalem, along with a public statement that undivided Jerusalem is recognised as the permanent cultural, historic and political capital of the Jewish state ofI srael

and C/ with Uncle Sam having pronounced a relentless 'talaq talaq talaq' to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, etc., sincere apologies and discreet proposals are made to Mother India, re. investment, joint projects, and suitable assistance with self-defence against Jihad

and D/ apologies are offered to the Serbs, and a phonecall is made to Holy Mother Russia, stating that in view of America's breaking off the relationships with and tribute/ jizya paid to ungrateful and hostile Muslim entities, how's about Russia does the same? These overtures to be accompanied by the publication of a good Russian translation of John Quincy Adams' brilliant essays on the Greek War of Independence and the Russo-Turkish Wars, from 1829, with the original English en face, and scholarly notes and introduction provided, and the whole bearing a Dedication to the following: / the children of Beslan 2/ the victims of 9/11 and 3/ all Russian and American soldiers killed or wounded in combat in Afghanistan, said publication to be simultaneously launched in Washington, Moscow, Beslan and New York City.

The people of this country must realize its never ok to elect muslims to office, be it congressman Keith Ellison, or muslim POTUS, Barry Hussein. Voting islamic needs to be equated to voting nazi. If this country does not wake up soon, we will succumb to the malignancy that is islam, just as Europe is doing.

Europe has allowed the influx of millions of muslims; they are replicating like rats, and will be the voting majority in many European nations in a few generations. It can happen here.

Why the hell this staunch Muslim still wants to flaunt his Christian name Keith Ellison? Let his change it to some Usama Bin laden or some thing Islamic this like that.It is disgusting.
