So how can you communicate with such a mind which is like a drug addict, delusional? In reality,I have to say this, the real enemy is us: the incredible, unfathomable ignorance of the threat of ISLAM, thanks to the liberal media and the disgusting brainwashing in public schools and the academia.

My friend, we've had a Gramscian "march through the institutions", and all I can say as I survey the end result in our republic is that the institutions are all the worse for it. It's why I introduce myself as the "professional swindler of the young" that my institution unwittingly come to expect me to be rather than the teacher that any real social/political compact and conscience of a Christian would demand that I be. At times I think I can do a little pushing back against the damage inflicted by the majority of my generation (Boomers), but the job's a big one.

But on to the topic: I believe that Romney actually sounded presidential; and I'm one who is very, very wary of a worshiper of some kind of evolved Adam (albeit even more wary of someone who worships grievance, as long as it's against the white middle class, and has probably played the charlatan on more than one occasion to advance his career).

But, considering Sam Arisan's comment, I daresay he describes too many people in the USA at this time. It's why I'm not really all that optimistic about this election, unless we get Republican majorities in Congress, including Senators who are willing to "Bork" a few Leftist nominees to the Federal bench.

Other things that I personally have found helpful when this present darkness seems overwhelming: G K Chesterton's 'The Everlasting Man', the chapters entitled 'The War of the Gods and the Demons' (Rome vs Carthage), and a later chapter 'The Five Deaths of the Faith', together with his poems 'The Ballad of the White Horse', 'The Ballad of St Barbara", and "Lepanto", and one which has become a hymn, which begins, "O God of earth and altar", and the second stanza of which is particularly apposite: "From all that terror teaches/ from lies of tongue and pen/ from all the easy speeches/ that comfort cruel men;/ from sale and profanation/ of honour and the sword/ from sleep, and from damnation/ deliver us, good Lord!"

There's also an awesome hymn that begins 'Once to every man and nation/ comes the moment to decide...".

BTW: I watched the Olympic Opening Ceremony in London.

I am told that during the opening sequence portions of two hymns were sung: 'Guide me, O thou great Jehovah" (which is, seemingly, a favourite with Welsh crowds at football games, of all things!) and the famous setting of William Blake's poem 'Jerusalem'. Then, later on, we had the *whole* of "Abide With Me"; beautifully sung by a female soloist, every word of it perfectly audible. The dance sequence that accompanied it was supposed to represent the battle of life and death.

I have no idea what reason the person or persons designing the ceremony gave to themselves, for choosing to include that, and the other two hymns.

But whether they intended it to come across that way or not, with the shadow of Jihad Terror looming like a massive dark cloud over the stadium - that small, bright space of play, full of light and music, surrounded by a triple ring of steel to try to protect everyone in it, just for that night, from Those Who Must Not Be Named - the inclusion in the ceremony of those three hymns, especially 'Abide With Me', felt like *someone* was crying out De Profundis,
