Salafis are devout Muslims who who emphasises the Salaf (“predecessors” or “ancestors”), the earliest Muslims, as model examples of Islamic practice (the “best example” 33:21 Prophet Muhammad)

The Salafis wouldn't stand a chance if Uncle Joe was still running the show.

The BBC news website is running this story under the headline "Russian Muslim leaders attacked" (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18900049), giving the false impression that non-Muslims are to blame. You have to read the whole story to reach the conclusion that they were attacked by even more devout Muslims, or "Islamists" as the BBC refer to them (just once). What is it with the Western media's protection of Muslims?

The paragraph at the end of the passage Mr Spencer reproduced, which originally read (as given above)

*now* reads:

Who knows what it might read tomorrow...

'Minnikhanov visited the wounded mufti in the hospital, where Faizov told him he jumped out of the car right as soon as he heard a bang. “Good thing I was not buckled up,” he was quoted by state media as saying.

"A Muslim leader from a neighboring region blamed local authorities for failing to thwart the assassination of Faizov. Muhammedgali Khuzin, mufti of the Perm region, told the Interfax news agency that he submitted a report in April to regional authorities about the dangers of radical Islamist groups.

Perhaps; but the mere fact that Muslims are shot by other Muslims does not make the killed Muslims automatically "reformers", nor reliable allies for us. It would be more reasonable and prudent for us to assume otherwise.
