I have significant contacts Israel (lots of career military family) and I can tell you that while the IDF is cautiously optimistic that their defense tech is up to the task of intercepting Syrian ground to ground missiles, the general population is a little rattled.

Israeli families have been drilling in preparation for WMD attacks from their neighbors for many years now. Unfortunately, no one is under the misconception that they cannot be hurt by this.

We have lots of experience with being gassed and we don’t like it much. But after all these years we have good idea how to deal with it.

I don't know what the Alawite position on liquor is.

What I do know is that in Iraq it was Christians who tended to make and sell alcohol; if this is also the case in Syria, then this is not simply about alcohol, this is actually an attack on the Christians.

'People who are selling alcohol are devils and we must fight them'. If it is only or primarily the Christians in Syria who sell alcohol, he has just identified them as 'devils' to be 'fought'.

Assad's supporters are primarily the Alawites, who are not regarded as Muslims (hence 'the infidel Al-Assad') and...the Christians.

'clean Syria from all liquor'.

This sounds as though even dhimmitude (under which Infidels were permitted to have pork and alcohol so long as they consumed them somewhere quiet and private where Muslims couldn't possibly see them) is not going to be offered as an option.

Total religious 'cleansing' - of Alawites and Christians, and then, when the Sunnis have disposed of *them*, probably the Shiites also - is what a good few of these zealous power-hungry sharia-crazed Sunni Muslims clearly have in mind.

And sellers of alcohol in **western countries** have already been threatened by Muslims.

There's a classic article that appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald on 13 August 2006, by Australian journalist Paul Sheehan, that I keep having to re-post, because it covers these topics very well.

Here's his account of someone he interviewed personally, the owner of a small bottle-shop in a rapidly Islamifying area of Western Sydney. A man whom Sheehan identifies, a little further on in the article, as a *middle-eastern* **Christian** - possibly either Lebanese Maronite, or Iraqi (Assyrian Orthodox or Chaldean Catholic) Christian.

This man was being attacked **by Muslims**.

"The one-hour parking zone outside the bottle shop is always occupied because local Muslims leave their cars there all day. The owner has written to the local council to complain, and nothing has been done. He does not want to be identified because he fears retribution. His reaction is sensible."... "The harassed operator of the bottle shop... is an Arab Christian".

In Syria or Iraq, the Muslims would have fire-bombed his shop and either driven him out or killed him, or smashed his merchandise. In Australia they're not quite strong enough or bold enough to think they can get away with that...YET; so they resorted to lower levels of bullying and threats.

And the Muslims have tried it on with the mafia-style threats in New York City, too.

'Mr. Friedman and his partner, Spotted Pig chef April Bloomfield, did agree to nix plans for a dive bar in a townhouse next door, but as for the restaurant, "I said, 'This is the United States of America and we'll do whatever the f**k we want.'"

"He said **the mosque had suggested it couldn't control the behavior of "a few bad eggs"; i.e., "we could get a brick through our window."** [emphasis added - dda. IOW - 'nice little restaurant you got here, shame if something happened to it...]
