Turkey: Erdogan's party wants to limit press freedom

Apparently in rapidly Islamizing Turkey they don't have the voluntarily Sharia-compliant press we have here, and so have to resort to legal limits on the freedom of the press. "Turkey: Erdogan's party wants to limit press freedom," from ANSAmed, July 13 (thanks to Insubria):

(ANSAmed) - ANKARA, JULY 13 - The nationalist Islamic Justice and Development Party (AKP) of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyp Erdogan has presented to Parliament a measure to limit freedom of the press protected under article 28 of the constitution, local media in Ankara reported.
Article 28 presently states that ''the press is free and must not be censored''. There are however limitations in the name of national security, public order and the republic's fundamental principles, the Milliyet newspaper noted.

Under the new article proposed by the AKP to the commission drafting a constitutional reform, freedom of the press can be limited on a number of other accounts including 'public morality'. According to Milliyet, the proposal states that 'freedom of the press can be limited to protect national security, public order, public morality, other individual rights, privacy, to prevent crimes, safeguard impartiality and freedom of the judicial system, to prevent pro-war propaganda, discriminations and hate'.

According to international media associations, some 100 journalists are currently detained in Turkey....

Also there are some signs that Erdogan is pressuring other parties to join - read: be absorbed into - his Islamic Justice and Development Party.

I give it maybe 7 years before the whole of the islamic world is indistinguishable from nazi germany of the 30's (except for the squalor and dropping everythimg 5X a day for a forehead rub).

I find this to be inconceivable when one considers just how much of the world we Jews are supposed to control.

If we have our "Bagel Eating Hooked Noses" (thanks rev. Jessie) in everything why can't we stop the single biggest threat to our existence since Schicklgruber. I am of course refering to pres. Amadeinthehead of iran.

If we control Hollywood why aren't there ten movies a year that tar and feather muslims with abandon, portraying them only as blood thirsty savages?

If we control "the international banking cartels" why hasn't the muslim worlds money magically evaporated?

If we control NATO why haven’t Europe’s armies been given their marching orders to wipe iran off the map?

Speaking of NATO, why is that putz erdogan still in power and why is his rapidly deteriorating country allowed to be in the club?

If the Israeli’s are so blood thirsty, why is that when we had the opportunity to sack Damascus during the Yom Kippur we war pulled back? Why didn't we inflict on the Syrians the horrors that history shows muslims have committed whenever they won a battle?

Why are we content to live a postage stamp sized country the size of VT? Why haven't we wiped out Egypt, Jordan, and Syria just to create a buffer zone against the muslim world?

I have lurked here for years without posting, but I know that there are people here at JW (very few thankfully) that sleep with a copy of the "Protocols" under their pillow.

You guys know everthing about us from that book, so tell me why?

Anyone who lobs in here waving a copy of the 'Protocols' or Mein Kampf, gets promptly hammered from all sides, and in the past I have seen truly egregious, foul-mouthed, borderline-insane openly Jew-hating posters getting booted so fast by the jihadwatch bouncers that they were out on the street face-down in the gutter before they knew what had happened. (There was one particularly memorable episode in 2009, while we were using Intensedebate. Figuratively speaking, Marisol had to put on her rubber gloves and get buckets of hot water and disinfectant to remove the obscene graffiti the dementor had scrawled all over the walls of the men's lavatories and along the back wall in the alleyway where the rubbish bins wait to be picked up).

are you in Israel or in the Diaspora?

Since you've identified as Jewish - welcome! - can you please get onto Stand With Us or some of the other bodies that have a bit of a clue (that is, the folks who are beginning to work out that there is a massive Arab/Muslim Jihad against the Jews, which is a subset of the Global Jihad Against Everybody Not-Muslim) and tell them to get some rallies, demonstrations, marches and public functions - workshops, seminars, public lectures, awareness-raising dinners - under way?

I'm in Australia. I would *love* to hear that a big We Love Israel rally / demo/ march was going to be held at a university campus or in a town centre within feasible travelling distance of where I live. A rally that would declare, openly, and loudly, support for Israel's right to a/ exist and b/ defend itself against Jihad by all means necessary. And that would assert Israel's right to *all* of Jerusalem, and that would assert Israel's right to *all* of Judea and Samaria and to the Golan Heights - all of which *also* constitute Military High Ground, necessary to be held if Israel is to stand the barest chance of surviving long-term. A rally that would loudly lift the lid on Islamic Jew-hatred, Muslim hatred of and aggression toward Jews qua Jews: what it is, where it comes from (the core Islamic texts) and that it has existed ever since the founding of Islam, i.e., since long, *long* before 1948.

Events of this kind need to start happening **now**. In every major city of the western world, and on every major University campus. **Now**. Within the next month, or couple of months. **Before** the Mohammedans launch their next really big attack upon the Jews of Israel.

If I knew that a march and rally were being held in the centre of my hometown, in support of Israel, and Israel's right of self-defence against genocidal Jihad, I would be there so fast. And I'm a Gentile. I'm a Christian, and I'd be trying to drag along as many of my parish church as I could.

PS You might like to know that although, as a Christian, I wear a celtic cross pendant Sundays through Fridays, on Saturdays - the Sabbath - I take it off and don a Star of David pendant instead, as a small gesture of solidarity. Which means that at a major church gathering I recently attended, which took place over the weekend, there I was in the midst of clergy and laity, on the Saturday sessions... wearing a Star of David.

Thanks for the welcome. To answer your question, I am a 1st generation American Jew. While I have been to Israel once as child (avoid the hotdogs, watch out for camels), I have never lived there. But…I am related to half of the country. My parents were the only surviving members of their respective families than emigrated to the US. 84 members of my family died in the camps (or worse). Everyone else went to then Palestine.
