This reminds me of a similar event in the early days of the soviet occupation of Afghanistan. A Soviet base had been established near an Afghan town, and the town's leaders invited several of the Soviet officers to a dinner. Once the Soviets had taken their seats at the table, the host gave a signal, and a servant stepped up behind each guest and slit his throat. The hosts and their families then took to the hills to hide out among their clan.

So ISAF does not anticipate copycat killings? There were 3 green on blue incidents in 4 days. ISAF troops continue "business as usual" in this environment? Why did the commander not order a "stand down," confinement to base, or some such thing so troops don't feel like they have to go to a fast-breaking meal at a cop's house?? I'm sure that turning down the invite is some kind of grave insult to Afghans.

Also, did anyone else notice that the ISAF spokesman seemed delighted to report that the other shooter was a civilian, in civilian clothes, instead of a uniform?

This morning's local paper carried a story under the AP byline: "An Afghan police officer killed at least 10 of his fellow officers on Saturday, a day after six U.S. service members were gunned down by their Afghan partners...."
They can't trust each other any more than we can.

When my oldest son expressed an interest in joining the U. S. marines I sat him down for a little talk. He knows my stand on islame and muslimes and so was not surprised by the content. I made damn sure he understood the danger of being in a muslime country exposed to muslimes. I told him to NEVER trust a f***ing muslime. NEVER turn his back on a muslime. To NEVER be exposed to muslimes without packing heat (that's American for gun). I gave him a little run down of islamic teachings to drive my point home. I hope he changes his mind, but if not, maybe he'll smoke a few camel jockeys for us.
I will have this talk again if he doesn't change his mind before finishing high school. I will be more prepared too. He's strong, smart, and quite capable with guns (we're regular shooters) and bare hands (11 years of tae-kwan-do, krav-maga, submission grappling etc.(would that be islamic grappling?)). I would hate to be on the receiving end of his wrath.
