Ahmadinejad: "With the grace of God and help of the nations, in the new Middle East there will be no trace of the Americans and Zionists"

More threats of murder from Iran. Watch for the Islamic apologists in the West to claim yet again that he was "mistranslated" (no one seems to be able to get Farsi right but them) and that the real problem is..."Islamophobia."

"'Tumour' of Israel will soon be destroyed: Ahmadinejad," by Mohammad Davari for AFP, August 17 (thanks to CJ):

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told an annual anti-Israel protest in Tehran on Friday that the Jewish state was a "cancerous tumour" that will soon be excised, drawing a strong US rebuke.

US National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor told AFP that if Iran was as concerned about human rights as Ahmadinejad said in his speech in support of the Palestinians, then it should stop supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Ahmadinejad's diatribe against Israel in his Quds (Jerusalem) Day address was the latest in a long line to have drawn criticism from Western governments.

"The Zionist regime and the Zionists are a cancerous tumour," he said.

"The nations of the region will soon finish off the usurper Zionists in the Palestinian land.... A new Middle East will definitely be formed. With the grace of God and help of the nations, in the new Middle East there will be no trace of the Americans and Zionists," he said.

The diatribe took place amid heightened tensions between Israel and Iran over Tehran's controversial nuclear programme.

The Jewish state has in recent weeks intensified its threats to possibly bomb Iran's nuclear facilities to prevent it having the capability to produce atomic weapons.

Iran, which is suffering under severe Western sanctions, denies its nuclear programme is anything but peaceful. Its military has warned it will destroy Israel if it attacks.

"They (the Israelis) know very well they don't have the ability" to successfully attack Iran, foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency.

"If they make a mistake, our nation's reaction will lead to the end of the Zionist regime," he said.

State television showed crowds marching under blazing sunshine in Tehran and other Iranian cities to mark Quds Days, an annual commemoration launched by the founder of the Islamic republic, the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, just after the 1979 revolution that brought him to power.

Demonstrators held up Palestinian flags and pictures of Khomeini's successor as Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and banners reading "Death to Israel" and "Death to America."

The head of Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards, General Mohammad Ali Jafari, told the Fars news agency as he attended the Tehran rally that "the Iranian nation has always been at the forefront of the (regional anti-Israeli) resistance in showing its animosity with Israel."

He added that Iran intended to maintain that virulent stance.

Ahmadinejad, in his speech, claimed that "Zionists" triggered World Wars I and II, and had "taken control over world affairs since the moment they became dominant over the US government."...

Note AFP's equation of genocidal rhetoric with the stating of unpleasant truths:

Israel has been employing its own invective against Iran and its leaders, invoking the image of Hitler and the Nazis on the eve of World War II and accusing Tehran of being bent on Israeli genocide.

Madratrag will find that getting rid of the truth is as hard as shrowing s**t at the moon and hitting it. :-/

Typo. .throwing, not 'showing'.

Sorry, I've heard this all before. Over twenty years ago was supposed to be year zero for the middle east, and Saddam Hussein and his million strong, mighty Arab Muslim army of over a million men were going to wipe out the infidel invaders once and for all in the mother of all battles (with attendant rhetoric). I had to sit and watch the news and be told how the Iraqi army were even more formidable than the Nazi SS at their peak. And what happened? They ran away and gave up crying like old ladies and little girls as soon as the fighting started (with apologies to old ladies and little girls everywhere). Fast forward to ten-odd years ago, ditto the above.

I expect the same from those losers in Iran should it come to it.

Frankly, I think that Sadam Hussein's army broke and ran was because its officers and men had better things to do than die for their fearless leader.

The press did it again....
Please stop translating the Arabic or Persian word for Allah as "God".
Use instead the word "Allah".
The quote should read: by the grace of Allah....

CNN had a reporter there who told us all that these crazed comments were for internal consumption, so I guess we should disregard them...

for a change CNN is correct. I just got back from Iran. the iranians give one shit less about ahmadinejad and the rest of them the people you see in the protest are all bussed there from small town and mainly paid money.
M

The SS were fanatical converts to the "Master Race" and, excepting that nonsense, were otherwise very capable men.

Saddam's idiots were not fanatical and held no genuine allegiance to the dictator, and were only there for employment purposes and not very capable.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards are religious fanatics, fully buying into the insanity of Islam (Shi'ite version) and, excepting that nonsense, otherwise capable men.

Yes, johnmatt, you have heard this before. No, johnmatt, not from Iraq.

Of course, my comment should be tempered with miriam rove's comment about the general population. But the fact is, the Revolutionary Guards are no in synch with the general population, and they, and the government, will act in opposition to the people in any case when they get a chance to "fulfill their destiny".

The beast from the east always talks like that. The problem is, he means it...

Just out of curiosity, what is your proof for your claim that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard are "capable men?" I would contend that this "Guard" is made up of bullies, and not capable men, who couldn't, along with the rest of the Iranian military, whip Iraq in eight years even though the Americans and their allies whipped the Iraqis in a matter of weeks.

Time and time again Muslim militaries have folded before those trained in the Western tradition, as Victor Davis Hanson and other military historians have noted many times over. Put another way, I think "johnmatt" is correct and your are wrong. Your turn.

wellington" AB does have a very good point. the gaurds are not your run of the mill solders. in fact the regular iranian army are not trusted by the leaders.
M

Islam is the "cancerous tumour" on the face of the world.

"With the grace of God and help of the nations, in the new Middle East there will be no trace of the Americans and Zionists"

You see, Ahm-a-dipstick is saying "with the grace of god". The trouble is.... it depends which god you're asking for grace, and Muslims, unfortunately for them, are asking the wrong god.....
Same old story, same old psychotic crap!

I hope, for the sake of not only the Middle East, but for the sake of the whole world that I lose the argument I'm about to start with Miriam Rove and Abraham Lincoln.

Nasty governments always find the cannon fodder for forces like the SS and, I suppose, the Revolutionary Guard in Iran. And, if the average Iranian could care less about Ahmadinejad and his bloviating, I would think that even a peasant, when offered a free trip to the capital and some spending money to spend an hour shouting "Marg bar Amrika", might think that there was something dishonorable about it and refuse.

And, as for America's most recent military ventures, while we did indeed rout the enemy, the enemy was still able to find a pool of eager recruits for a continuing asymmetrical warfare. Even if, as P.J. O'Rourke once put it, the young men of the little Hells where he spent his holidays simply found running around the hills carrying an AK more exhiliarating than pursuing a humdrum career, the military posturing of these same young men is still for the sake of a Jihadi ideology. Even the Hellish Hitler had his bitter ender supporters (including, it appears, the young Gunther Grass) Getting back to Iran, it seems that the most viable options there are either the mullah-ocracy or people like the Mojaheddin-e-Khalq, whom I find just as unpalatable. This is why I'm no enthusiast for war with Iran, and fear it would only be winnable if the USA was willing to act like the Mongol Khans.

The Iranians would not be doing any of this had they had calculated that the US would go ahead and stop them cold.
It is a risk assement thing, they are certifiably mad, but have not lost 1)absolute doubt, 2)capacity to do simple addition
There are people belonging to the leadership in America who can easily be blamed and readily faulted for having conveyed to the Iranians in the past, a lack a resolute determination for an automatic set of actins, kinematical in fashion, that would put their nuke factory plans to rest, for now and for ever.
Somehow the Iranian headship has concluded that the risk of failure is small and not enough to deprive them of their lust fro glory. The future of mankind and freedom is at stake, obozo not only failed miserably in ensuring our long term peace, but has actually opened the door to the islamic monstrosity for with his peace and praise to islam open hand appeasement policy.

Yeah, mr, but up against the best the Israelis or Americans could produce, like Navy Seals or US Marines or elite IDF forces, I predict the Iranian Revolutionary Guard would fold like a house of cards. There are few things in this world more pathetic than Muslim militaries.

And when the best of the West unleashes itself against these doofuses, for instance in the Six-Day War or the Gulf War, it's only a matter of how compassionate the best of the West is respecting cessation of hostilities (too compassionate time and time again I would argue). As in so much else involved with Islam, Islamic militaries are far more bluff than anything real or potent. I mean, go ahead, explain to me how the Iranian military could not finish off Iraq in eight years but the American military and its allies did so in a matter of weeks.

Islam hampers everything. Including militaries. How fitting, no, since Islam is a sham throughout, in every walk of life. Hope you're doing well, mr.

Corollary to my last comment:

Bush: Shock and Awe = hussain KO'd 2 weeks

Obozo: Praise and Peace = ballistic missiles, 20% enrichment plus, 1000 more centrifuges...

need more?

No need, Kepha, to act like "Mongol Khans." "Merely" acting like the Allies in WWII did would be sufficient (against far more formidable opposition in the Germans and Japanese I might add). I'm certain of this.

What troubles me is not anything to do with military superiority by the West but rather the erosion of will in the West to preserve itself. In short, we have here not a military problem but a psychological one.

I pretty much agree with that, they all have clean uniforms...
They may be steel hard from a lot of push ups, but very few of them are battle hardened, and have little experience with actual fighting...

Indeed. Farsi seems almost as difficult to accurately translate as Arabic itself—given all those terrible "mistranslations" of the Qur'an itself. Odd that we don't seem to have that same sort of problem with other languages...sarc/off

Grotesque. No mention that the accusation of Jews starting world wars is a grotesque calumny, whereas the comparisons being made by Israel is quite accurate.

As for the difference of opinion in the thread so far, I have to agree with Wellington and Kepha—while I'm sure some Iranians are pretty cynical about the whole thing, I believe all too many of them *really are* true believers.

And like Kepha, I wish I was wrong. I'd love to believe that the average Iranian was a civilized secularist, who only maintains a gloss of Islam because they are compelled to do so—but I just haven't seen any evidence to back this up. Oh, I believe it happens—especially with the educated urban elite—but not that this represents any sort of majority opinion there. In addition, I'm not sure the Infidels can count on support even from this minority, the members of which are not in general known fr sticking their necks out.

As for the "Revolutionary Guards", I agree with johnmatt and others that they would likely break and run if faced with a modern military force. The fact that they are true believers does not make them brave. In fact, your average pious Muslim is much better at bullying the weak than at facing a disciplined resistance.

The only area where Muslims excel is in sneak attacks and situations where they exploit the ethical decency of their targets.

Ahmadinejad's constant sword rattling is a sign of utter desperation. I've seen it before in the early 60's when Nikita Krushcev made his "We will bury you" speech, at the U.N. What Krushcev was trying to accomplish then, is the same as what Ahmadinijad, is hoping to accomplish now. He's trying to draw out adversarial responses. Why? for two reasons, one, to evaluate them and two, to borrow time.

The SS were not as good as the best of the regular army's best, either. But they had something to prove. Attitude goes a long, LONG way as long as there is solid training behind it. Both the SS and the Revolutionary Guard share this. So did the most fanatical of Japan's WW2 troops. Saddam's "best" didn't have both of these key qualities. Iran's religious nutjob Revolutionary Guard are in a different league than Saddam's paper tigers.

And again I must say to that assclown: It'll take the US and Israel longer to fuel our jets than it will to steamroll your "mighty" Islamic army.

Ahmadinejad - sounds more and more like "Baghdad Bob".

Let's hope the Israelis have a well thought out plan of graded conflict escalation, it might not take much to kick the slats out from under those delusional madmen.

Guys,I am surprsied Robert hasnt posted this yet,a few days ago he debated Muslim Adnan Rashid of the Muslim Debate Intitiative on the theme "Did Muh. Exist?".

I go along with the analysis of Wellington. Any future wars are about how well you are prepared and planned the battle-management scenarios. It is not about "I am willing to die for Allah". RG of Iran are more filled with "I am willing to die for Allah" and that wish can be fulfilled with a bunch of "daisy cutters" as successfully shown during the "shock and awe" phase of the Iraq War.

minoria - it is always nearly impossible to prove the numbers killed or massacred during any war. From all historical and current days accounts, it is abundantly clear the Muslims exaggerate their losses and cry foul when they lose a battle therefore I think it is most likely 8000 Muslims killed is a complete hoax. I once saw a TV documentary that effectively tried to proved your point 8000 Muslims killed by the Serbs is a hoax. I believe there was a massacre on both sides - unfortunately, the Muslims won the media war.

@mMinoria

If Israel weren't the work of Divine Providence "Allah's grace" would have destroyed the Jewish race long ago to prevent the possibility of the Jewish state existing.

CORRECTION: If Israel wasn't.....

Wayne,

Israel is conducting an effective intellegence gathering operation. They will know if and at what point, they must act in a more difinitive way. Be assured, Iran will never be a nuclear power, as long as this fundamentalist fanatic, remains in office.

Right now, Tehran is conducting cold war strategies consisting of dares, saber ratteling and trying to find out if and at what point Israel will act.

The "Bay of Pigs" incident comes to mind, when JFK ultimately took definitive action in order to stop the attempted nuclear arming on Cuban soil, by Russia

No, I heard it directly from the Iraqis and the western MSM in the build-up to two gulf wars. Tbe republican guard were supposedly the last word in fanatical devotion to the Iraqi regime. You must have been living under a rock somewhere, because I was bombarded with this message daily.

wy cant anyone get rid of this guy if we would have klled hitler we would not have had ww2 we are heading for war because of 2 guys and we do nothing about it shame on the western leaders for all the dead that this war will cause

Almost, you must severe the head of the snake, ahmadinejad is only a scale though, the head is the islamic leadership, ayatollahs, who will perpetually be inclined, given military power, to strike at their neighbors, or with ballistic missiles, the heart of the USA.

"The Jewish state has in recent weeks intensified its threats to possibly bomb Iran's nuclear facilities to prevent it having the capability to produce atomic weapons."

The Jewish state has been longsuffering and an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities is long overdue ...and the Psalm 83 war is about to begin.

Note Psalm 83:2-8:

For behold, Your enemies make an uproar,

And those who hate You have exalted themselves.

3 They make shrewd plans against Your people,

And conspire together against Your treasured ones.

4 They have said, “Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation,

That the name of Israel be remembered no more.”

5 For they have conspired together with one mind;

Against You they make a covenant:

6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,

Moab and the Hagrites;

7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek,

Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;

8 Assyria also has joined with them;

They have become a help to the children of Lot. Selah.

(NASB version)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For years now, Imanutjob has repeatedly stated his desire to "wipe Israel off of the map" ...
I deplore the act of war and the deaths that wars produce. Nevertheless I am realistic enough to understand
that war is sometimes the ONLY way to preserve the peace
in the long run.
In the case of Iran [& other Islamic insane nations],
WAR is the ONLY way to go in order to protect all other
civilized non-muslim nations from the murderous ideology
that Islam represents.
If my country, the USA, were to enter a war against
Iran, they would surely win quite easily with a large
measure of impunity.
On the other hand, if Israel were to enter a war, alone,
with Iran they too would probably win but not without some
great amount of casualties among their citizenry. Israel,
and Israel alone, has the unenviable decision as to
whether or not enter into a war. If Israel infact decides
upon war, then I would hope that America, and other nations,
would come to their aid in whatever manner appropriate.
Paranthetically I would add, America could by way of
merely telling the truth about Islam and the danger that
Islam presents to Israel and the world in general, actually
obviate the necessity of war entirely. By appeasing and
flatering various Islamic regimes over the years we have
emboldened them to do whatever they please throughout the
world.
When some Islamic king &/or dictator begins to understand that THEIR life is on the line, then and only
then will they abstain from encouraging and supporting
terrorism.
Peace, Paul R.
the phrase should have been:
Let's hope the Israelis have a well thought out plan of "graduated conflict escalation", it might not take much to kick the slats out from under the delusional madmen in Tehran.
On the other hand:
If removing a nuclear weapons capability from Iran proves more difficult then the American statement that an Israeli attack can only delay a nuclear Iran for a short time would be facetious if it wasn't so evil as it's meant to counsel Israeli surrender.
Graduated conflict escalation by the Israelis starts at the low end but if necessary it doesn't stop at conventional means, if necessary to successfully remove a nuclear capability from Iran Israel can easily continue on to a nuclear or EMP attack on Iran and that would shut down Iran's nuclear ambitions - permanently.
