It always amazes me how quickly the minds of people like this mayor click into ‘tolerance and diversity crisis’ mode after barely even glancing at the counter-jihad criticism. They are so reflexively certain that any criticism if Islam must be baseless that they don’t even feel the slightest need to objectively analyze the matter or learn any facts. They immediately leap into it as if it’s a garden variety minority intolerance issue without any evidence. It’s intellectual laziness to the extreme. (That is, giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming they’re not consciously trying to aid our enemies.) I mean all rational judgment would have to be circumvented for someone to insist that the perpetrators of 19,250 attacks number only a “few.” But when someone is in the throws of a knee-jerk freakout, I guess the obvious absurdity of such an assertion doesn’t register.

I would like you to tell me how this ad is offensive or bigoted. It simply states that there have been over 19,000 Islamic attacks since 2011. Are you upset that there have been over 19,000 terrorist attacks carried out in the name of Allah or are you upset that somebody made an ad stating this fact? The ad DOES NOT state that all or even a majority of Muslims agree with terrorist attacks. All it states is that there have been over 19,000 Islamic attacks carried out by self-professing Muslims in the name of Allah. Don't you think you should inform your residents of this fact so that they are better able to engage and influence the Muslim minority who agree with the ideology of those who kill in the name of Allah?

Maybe you could coordinate an assembly with your Muslim constituents and together demonstrate your disapproval of the wide-scale murders happening in the name of Allah. After all, if I were a Muslim I would want a political platform to condemn these acts of terror.

But it seems to me that you are more upset with the people who provide the facts than with those who commit the acts. Is it more deplorable to you that someone would speak out against radical Islam than the fact that people kill others in the name of Islam? You remind me of the politicians in the 1930's who wouldn't take a stand against Hitler because it would cost them something. And to be clear, I did compare Islamic terrorists, not all Muslims, to Hitler. I suggest you do some research on the 1,400 years of Islamic oppression and open up a Qur'an so that you can better understand why self-professing Muslims from all over the world commit acts of terror in the name of Allah.

Don't kill the MESSENGER!

Just think of the courage of our "Founding Fathers" in trying to put an end to the tolerance of the evils of slavery. They also knew the timeless value of preserving free speech of citizens against government censorship.

The fight against slavery was an uphill battle. It is an unfinished battle. Islamists persist in their 1,400 year quest to make non-Muslims their slaves, at best.

Imagine the argument: Not every slave master is evil. I personally know a nice slave owner who treats his slaves quite well. What are you, a SlaveryPhobe?

That's acceptable free speech - because one might imagine namely Muslims are expressing it.

But move to say - hey look how many people have been killed in the name of Islam since the tragic 9/11 - and you have oh.. that's hate speech - namely non-Muslim speech on actions carried out by Muslims -

in addition however deplorable the actions of these few Muslims are called - they believe they are only acting on the instructions laid down by the Islamic scripture and the Prophet Muhammad of Islam [who himself waged war against non-belivers].

We also know for a fact that most muslims in the world support the so-called "islamists" (evil/backwards devout muslims) as evidenced by the "islamists" winning election after election.

Not to mention the chronic human rights abuses, lack of freedom and violent conflicts where muslims border non-muslims all further prove that islam is neither moderate nor peaceful.

Anyone who disagrees with this ugly reality is dangerously naive or a pathological liar.

I notice a couple of JW readers are trying to persuade the mayor based on "The ad DOES NOT state that all or even a majority of Muslims agree with terrorist attacks" -- i.e., by trying to assure him that the overt content of the ad does not violate the Second Commandment of PC MC (namely, Thou Shalt Not Say, Nor Insinuate, That More Than a Tiny Minority of Extremists Are Causing Violence).

Even the ad itself tries to do this, by avoiding the Camel in the Room and providing plausible deniability to such anxious assurances.

However, the memo from the Village People explicitly adverts to the supposedly objectionable "innuendo" in the ad. And I must agree with them. The innuendo is there that the problem is obviously of greater magnitude than a mere TMOE (Tiny Minority of Extremists).

The reaction of the Village People here is yet one more proof (after dozens and dozens I could cite from over the years) that it evidently does not matter if we politely try not to tread on PC MC toes and tone down our language -- they still accuse us of "bigotry". If the tactic of trying to mollify their hypersensitivity to our possible perceived extremism doesn't work, I say we scrap it, and do a Harry Truman -- say it like it is, and damn the torpedos.

Problem 1: Islam. Problem 2: The more devout followers of Islam (often known as radicals). Problem 3: The less devout followers of Islam (often known as moderates).

Problem 3 is actually the biggest problem of the three problems because it gives a lot of cover to Problems 1 and 2 and leads a hell of a lot of non-Muslims, like the clueless people running Hastings-on-Hudson, to say mushy, dopey things about Islam and Muslims that don't help or protect such causes as freedom, equality under the law and a real Golden Rule for all.

Ah, the mayor invokes the good old line about it being "just a tiny minority" of Moslems that commit terrorist acts.
Well o.k., he's probably right,
But just how "tiny" a minority? Well, since 9/11 there have been ~ 19,500 attacks; so there's 19,500. Then, many attacks involve more than one attacker -- 9/11 itself had 19, and the latest Mumbai attack, 10. Assuming 5 attackers in each incident, that's nearly 100,000. Then add planners, trainers, helpers, and various supporters -- very few attackers are lone wolves; someone makes the bomb for them, someone plans their attack, someone helps them reach the target, and in some cases someone detonates their bomb for them by remote control -- so figure, conservatively, another 2 aiders and abettors for each attack. Which brings us to ~ 300,000 total. With a world population of 1.4 billion Moslems, that's over 21 terrorists per 100,000. And while there have been Christian, Hindu, and Sikh terrorits, I doubt that their rates are even 1/10th that.
And of course, the 300,000 figure doesn't include the thousands of imams, madrassa teachers, Moslem politicians, and Moslem media persons world-wide who preach and advocate violence against un-believers. It doesn't include the mobs -- hundreds, even thousands strong -- who attack police in India, or who attack Christian churches in Nigeria or Indonesia, or engage in rampages of arson and vandalism in France. Add in all of those, and we're talking many millions of violent attackers. That "tiny minority" starts to look less and less tiny.
Then that's not counting the various other less than savory practices of Moslems, like the "honor-killing" of thousands of wives and daughters every year, and the state-enforced executions of gays, apostates, rape victims, and "insulters of Islam". And all of these are endorsed by a great many -- dare I say the majority of -- Moslems.
Face it, Mr. Mayor, Islam enshrines violence and intimidation, and the majority of Moslems support that.

In the history of Christianity in North Africa, Christianity has managed to stand and not be totally destroyed by other religions that have now dominated these countries which are Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt and may more others. What has kept these certain countries to carry on believing in Jesus when people get persecuted for the sake of the Gospel?

This is to inform you that I strongly disagree with your recent condemnation of the Islamophobia/Islamorealism ad. Perhaps you are unaware of the many news stories about public figures, authors, and artists self-censoring when it comes to criticism of Islam, out of fear of death threats and violent intimidation from Muslims.

That pattern of violent intimidation of open public discourse, a censorship deeply ingrained in Muslim-majority nations, must not be allowed to spread to the United States.

Perhaps you are unaware that Bernard Lewis, eminent scholar of Islam and the Middle East, wrote on page 73 of his The Political Language of Islam, that Islam imposes, without limit of time or space, the duty to subjugate non-Muslims:

"...it is the duty of those who have accepted them [Allah's word and message] to strive unceasingly to convert or at least to subjugate those who have not. This obligation is without limit of time or space. It must continue until the whole world has either accepted the Islamic faith or submitted to the power of the Islamic state.”

Perhaps you are also unaware of Lewis' statement that Islam is inherently totalitarian.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the core Islamic texts that promote a far more ambitious totalitarian program than do the core texts of Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, or any other major religion.

Perhaps you are unaware of the December 2010 survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, which found widespread popular support for death penalty as a punishment for apostasy from Islam: in Egypt (84% of respondents in favor of death penalty), Jordan (86% in favor), Indonesia (30% in favor), Pakistan (76% favor) and Nigeria (51% in favor).

If you were aware of how Islamic core texts -- far more than those of any other major religion -- promote violent intimidation of free speech and freedom of conscience, and violent rejection of equality for women and for homosexuals; if you had ever noticed that nations in the Islamic heartland have by far the worst human rights records of any region on the globe; if you grasped these things and many others, you would see that Islam is in fact a very dangerous cult, whose leadership around the globe and in the United States is for the most part dominated by Muslims who support Muhammad's totalitarian teachings and actions, while publicly denying all that when speaking to non-Muslims.

Your objection that there are many peace-loving Muslims who simply want to go about their lives does not deal with the fact that vanishingly few of those peace-loving Muslims ever publicly denounce, in any specific way, the core totalitarian aspects of Islam, such as Muhammad's statement, recorded in the most canonical hadith collection, Sahih al-Bukhari, 9:84:57:

"Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him."

The peace-loving, anti-Sharia Muslims obviously do exist, but in their silence are for the most part inadvertent enablers of the Islamic sharia ethos of violent intimidation of any criticism of Islam or Muhammad -- that very intimidation which caused the FBI to advise Molly Norris (the artist who inspired "Draw Muhammad Day") to change her name and move to start a new life, because the FBI could not protect her from all the death threats she was getting -- the same intimidation that caused Comedy Central to censor itself -- and that has caused many, many other public figures, artists, and intellectuals to self-censor in fear of Islam-motivated violence.

That Islam, to an extent that far surpasses all the other major religions of the world, is a dangerous totalitarian political cult, is ascertainable from any thorough consideration of its own core texts, and its own earliest biographies of Muhammad, and from the human rights conditions in the Middle Eastern core Islamic states, as well as the affirmations of the global 56-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation (which rejected the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, in favor of the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights, whose articles subject all rights to Sharia Law). Even if one looks far outside the Islamic heartland, to Muslim-majority Indonesia, sometimes touted as an example of Islamic democracy, one finds the government requires religious identity cards, has significant restrictions on religious freedom, and surrenders to the spread of Islamic law through one of Indonesia's major provinces.

It is not too much to ask that the peace-loving Muslims, if they insist on being part of such a cult, tolerate the public criticisms that will inevitably arise of their founder, of Islam's core texts, and of the widespread violence done in the name of Islam and Muhammad around the globe today, in Thailand, in Nigeria, in Somalia, in Sudan, all over the Middle East, in France, in Scandinavia, in the United States, and elsewhere.

I am part of a growing movement that will throw you out of office come election time, unless you start to wake up.

The Good Muslims

Although there are certainly many good people who call themselves Muslims, all of these people are either living in terrible fear of leaving their religion, or have been duped by it. Or, they choose to remain eternally clueless about it...

And then of course there are the many evil Muslims. Those Muslims who KNOW that Islam is evil.

Those Muslims who happen to be personally honorable Muslims, are ironically, the very worst of Muslims, for they give a very bad religion a good name and aid in its continuation. Those Muslims who act as Imams and Islamic “academics” and work to further the goals of this fundamentally unjust, inherently violent, and highly intolerant religion are also doing great harm to humanity.

If these above mentioned groups of persons continue in their ways and succeed in keeping Islam alive and flourishing, the world will be a truly dark place no sane person would want their son or daughter to live in. The time has come for all Muslims, both laymen and learned, moderate and fundamentalist, to objectively re-examine the religion they currently believe to be infallible and beyond the need for critical examination. The horrible truth about the Islamic religion must become known if humanity is to survive.
It has become obvious to many Muslims that there is something seriously wrong with Islam. But what? What is wrong with Islam? Was Muhammad merely a sick human being and a liar? Is Islam the corrupted product of many different hands? These questions are well worth asking as there is so much at stake. Those people who are good people and adhere to Islam must be asking themselves whether Islam is in fact a religion come from God as Muhammad proclaimed. Those Muslims who know of Muhammad’s questionable behavior (murder, assassination, thievery, pedophilia, etc.) are now wondering whether they want to continue blindly following this sick man and his hateful and violent religion.

Unfortunately, the fear that Muhammad’s Islam has induced in the minds of Muslims has rendered them incapable of thinking rationally about the religion. This is changing though, as more and more Muslims become exposed to the grotesque truth about Muhammad and his Islam. Upon learning the truth about Islam, honest people of integrity begin the profoundly liberating process of apostasizing from Islam. It can definitively be stated that no decent person of sane mind, knowing the real facts about Islam, could remain in the religion with a clear conscience. We informed apostates of Islam know for certain that Muhammad’s Islam is in reality the exact opposite of what it claims to be.

Most Muslims genuinely do not know how evil Islamic ideology really is. It is an indisputable fact that Islam institutionalizes discrimination against women and non-Muslims, effectively puts an end to freedom of speech and freedom of conscience, and ensures perpetual warfare amongst mankind. Islam is not a religion of peace. Islam is not a flawless faith received from a god on high. Muhammad was not the perfect man. This “religion” is so perverse in fact, that it demands that those who leave it be killed.

Muhammad was a deranged man. He was so deranged in fact, that he himself believed his own lies. He made his living and satisfied his “needs” by creating enemies and then raiding and looting their property. Muhammad and his gang of criminals butchered thousands of people during their raids. Often the women and children were spared death only to be enslaved and sold for profit or used as concubines and free labor. Many of the modern day followers of Muhammad’s cult of Islam want to re-live that savage age. They want to slaughter “infidels” and take their wives. They want to see stonings, amputations, and mute women in full length black garb on every street. The early Muslims became Muslims by being duped or threatened by that convincing mad man. Modern Muslims, even the most educated, are Muslims due to either fear or ignorance, period.

Those folks who consider themselves to be good Muslims must be terribly disturbed when witnessing the constant horrors being created around the world by their co-religionists who rightly justify their evil deeds in the name of Islam. Tragically, according to Islam, Muslims need only treat Muslims justly - to hell with the rights of those who will not submit to Islam. The misery and loss of life being created by Muslims acting upon Islamic doctrine is staggering. The harm that Islam has wrought upon humanity is without parallel among the world’s religions. It has now become crystal clear to sensible people that Muhammad’s legacy is the most shameful and harmful legacy of all of the leaders the world has come to know by name. The name Muhammad now denotes disgust, distrust and dishonesty. Though for Muslims, as any “true believer” will tell you, Muhammad must still be considered the perfect man, whose every word and example is to be obeyed without question…???

It is quite reasonable that many folks who currently call themselves Muslims are considering walking away from this sick man’s cult/belief system as billions of good people have done before them. Only an imbecile would continue to believe that Muhammad was the messenger of god. Truth be told, many Muslims stay in Islam simply out of fear for their lives. Though the following statement is harsh to be sure, it is none the less true: Educated Muslims, especially those living in non-Muslim majority countries, should be ashamed of themselves for not taking the time to learn and consider the objective truth about Islam from easily available sources and then wholly abandoning Islam and joining the effort to expose this terrible fraud.

Those Muslims who choose to stubbornly cling to Islam knowing what they now surely know about it are stabbing themselves and humanity in the back. Fifty years from now, Islam will be seen as a belief system far worse than even Hitler’s Nazism, and those human beings who remain “Muslim” will be looked upon as mentally ill freaks that no reasonable person would trust or respect. Adherence to Islam in the 21st century is fast becoming known as the ultimate self-betrayal. Now that the truth about Islam has become known, there is no excuse for a free man or women to remain Muslim.

Islam should rightly be abhorred by all persons of conscience. Muhammad’s Islam is a fundamentally unjust ideology with hatred and violence coursing through its veins. ‘The good Muslims’ must decide whether they want to live a lie and go down the dark path of Islam or make the courageous decision to abandon this religion entirely and help in the effort to expose it for what it is. It is time for the good Muslims to come to the realization that Muhammad’s Islam, taken in totality, amounts to a colossal fraud and a terribly harmful ideology.

Concerning your recent letter to Hastings-on-Hudson residents (which I saw on the Jihad Watch site), I find it difficult to juxtapose the undisputed stat "19,250 Islamic attacks since 9/11" with your protest against "tarring" Islam due to the "actions of a few." The whole point is that these actions, if indeed of a minority, are far from the actions of a few. No other religion today has so much religion-based blood on its hands.

Certainly there are numerous instances available of Christianity-based bloodletting: attempted extermination of Muslims in Bosnia, killing of Protestants in Ireland, killing of Catholics in Ireland, torture and murder of supposedly backsliding Jewish and Muslim converts to Christianity by the Spanish Inquisition, the whole slaughter of Cathars, and on and on and on. But how much Christianity-inspired slaughter is happening today? Virtually none, I'd say. Buddhist-inspired? Judaism-inspired? Sikh-inspired? I'll grant that Hindus in India occasionally spill the blood of innocent Muslims, but on the other side of the ledger are the mass slaughter in Bombay/Mumbai and the bloody persecution of Hindus in Pakistan. No, it seems to me that at this moment Muslims are unrivalled among religious groups for murder and violence. And the problem is not with "culture" (Islam is practiced across many cultures) but with religious doctrine.

Meanwhile how many days go by without a new atrocity by Muslims, against U.S. soldiers by their supposed allies in Afghanistan, against Coptic Christians in Egypt and Syria, between Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq (one of history's most idiotic conflicts, equivalent to bloody battle over Bush vs. Gore hundred of years after the fact), murder of wives and daughters for the sake of "honor" (not exclusively but in vast majority by Muslims), not to mention 9/11 and Fort Hood.
