This subject, Romney's understanding of the extreme danger and hazard of islam to our Constitutional protections, and Freedom of the West, has been my only concern about Romney, and now I see much more reason for hope. And as you suggest, time and developments will determine this answer.

This clears my mind quite sufficiently to fully embrace supporting Romney, as our next and economy and Freedom saving President. When he takes an oath to protect America, we all know we can believe it, for a change, and I believe he is beginning to get an understanding of the true dangers of islam.

And his oath won't be sworn on a koran, which means in islam, taking no oath at all, as in at least Ellison's case!

Even if he does, I would vigorously argue that Romney is still almost infinitely preferable to Obama, if for no other reason than because of the many judicial appointments that will be made by the next President over the following four years, never mind standard stuff like support for Israel, understanding how an economy truly works and comprehending the need for a maximum American military readiness, in all of which Romney beats Obama hands down. I'm ashamed to say I've been ignorant of General Boykin all this time. Finally, someone in a high place who has his head screwed on straight. Looks to me like retired Lieutenant General William G. "Jerry" Boykin has done due diligence.

He has either read the Enemy's book/s and used his common sense and powers of observation to deduce the correlation between Program and Behaviour, or he has paid attention to the work of others: either the unfashionable Old Books that do tell the truth about Islam, or the few contemporary writers who are also telling the truth. I am particularly pleased by his seeing through the 'interfaith dialogue' schtick.

As a nation we can not go after a known Islamist organization like CAIR and that same CAIR asks for an explanation from a presidential candidate why he met with a certain individual. WOW!!! Something is very wrong here folks.

I'm not so sure I agree with General Boykin's idea for banning Islam in the USA--although I agree with him that Islam is a dangerous religion.

And, even if Islam is redefined as a political meme, the First Amendment's Free Speech clause is there to protect political speech, if nothing else. The jurisprudence on it over the last half-century or so has tended to more to protect the radical and rabid; so perhaps those of us who are more towards the center-right ought to make a little more public use of it.

Banning Islam would also give it the "forbidden fruit" appeal that works so well with the aggrieved and, especially, the gullible young.

The answer is what Robert Spencer is doing here--educating the public about the link between political violence and central Islamic doctrines. Further, our esteemed host has also avoided the idiocy of moral equivalence over Christianity and Judaism in his critique of Islam, a practice cultivated by the Left to make itself look mature and tolerant (when it is anything but). The more people get the message, the more an expansive Islam will be find itself boxed in by a suspicious public opinion that also understands why it is suspicious.

First, let me say I plan on voting for Romney in November. What choice do we have? Another four years of Obama? It remains to be seen whether Romney can energize a largely skeptical conservative base, depending on his VP pick and how he handles himself in the debates, etc. I voted for Gingrich in our primary in large measure because Gingrich was more forthright about the global jihad. In the December 10 Iowa debate, Romney rebuked Gingrich, essentially taking the side of the Palestinian Muslim jihadists.

Romney did well while in Israel last week or the week before, especially when he said (contrary to Obama) Jerusalem is Israel's capital but now he is backtracking, waffling over whether he would be willing to move our US ambassador to Israel's capital were he the president.

A couple or so weeks back, I read a piece on Politico written by Gingrich defending Michele Bachmann and her call for an investigation of Muslim Brotherhood infiltration / penetration into the government -- John McCain, John Boehner, Marco Rubio, Mike Rogers, etc. condemned Bachmann and her colleagues. Romney when asked last week about Bachmann and her colleagues said, "It is not a part of my campaign."

What bothers me about Gen. Boykin's idea (much as I respect him as our country's soldier and a fellow Christian) is that we might be putting too large a weapon into the hands of a government that is already to large and too close to being intoxicated with its own power. I believe that government is a positive good for our species, not merely a necessary evil, but it must recognize that it has limits.

Further, political leaderships that get crusading for one thing or another--even good things--into their heads tend to engage in overkill. My anti-Communism is one thing that I don't see as a sin from which I must repent, but I sometimes wonder if pushing back at it was really worth the excess militarization of our country and the great expenses we put into shoring up half the rest of the world--surely contributors to our longstanding problem of national debt and balance of payments. I would foresee the use of political and military measures against everything from Mauretania to Mindanao, the Kama to the Comorros, and Nigeria to Ningxia as a further way to bankrupt our country, waste our young manhood (young women in uniform will probably get pregnant and pull leave when the shooting starts--a Navy friend of mine groused about this during the First Gulf War), and foster a poisonous cynicism among our people--as well as further bloat our government.

I doubt that people like Nadharkhani, the Caner brothers, Nabeel Qureshi, some West African immigrant students I've known, those folks down in southern Turkey or the Kabyle region of Algeria, and others were won away from Islam by people shouting,"we're going to ban you!" I'd been rather luke-warm on Mitt Romney-although I'd still planned on voting for him.

But recently I've had increased reason to believe that he at least partially "gets it" about Islam. If Romney stands firm on the stance he's taken on the threat of Islam and support for Israel, then I'm going to feel a lot more confident when I step into that voting booth in November.

I'm not bothered by Islamic supremacists.

What I'm bothered by is the legion of Westerners (the members of the governments of Western countries, and the Western academics, and the Western journalists, and the Western political activists, etc., and the Western laypeople) who support, and, therein, enable, Islamic supremacists and the Islamic supremacist political movement. That is: I'm bothered by the imbecility and lack of moral integrity of the Westerners who support, and, therein, enable, Islamic supremacists and the Islamic supremacist political movement. That is: I'm bothered by Western anti-Jewish racism; and I'm bothered by Jewish Stockholm Syndrome. Only Western anti-Jewish racism can make Western people (Western non-Jewish people) be so stupid and evil as to support Islamic supremacists and the Islamic supremacist political movement; and only Jewish Stockholm Syndrome can make Jewish people be so deranged and immoral as to support Islamic supremacists and the Islamic supremacist political movement.
