The media is falling all over themselves desperately trying to frame our counter jihad ads as "islamophobic."Here was the statement I submitted to Jonathan Vigliotti of NBC News:
The ad is just stating a fact – that there have been over 19,000 jihad attacks since 9/11. How is it “Islamophobic” to point that out? It is “Islamophobic” and a real attempt to paint all Muslims as jihadists to suggest that all Muslims would oppose attempts to rein in the jihadists.I’m wondering why there was no comparable brouhaha when two vicious anti-Israel ads ran – nothing like the reaction there has been over a statement of real fact. There was no concern in the media about “hate speech” and incitement to violence against Jews by those dishonest messages. The actual story here is the systemic and institutionalized bias in the media.
The truth is not offensive. The millions slaughtered in jihad – that is offensive to free men.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner wants Metro-North to warn passengers that the ads could be upsetting and don't represent Metro-North's views or that of the community. Our ads are statements of fact. There have been over 19,441 deadly Islamic attacks since 911. Feiner wants to warn people of what, exactly? The truth? Why didn't Feiner react as viscerally when the same kiosks had vicious blood libels posted about Israel? Feiner is OK with anti-Jewish ads. His bias is showing.
Feiner says, "[Muslims] should not be discriminated against. The posters encourage hatred, discrimination and do not help the efforts to fight hate crimes." Feiner implies that all Muslims support jihad. Sounds like Feiner is painting all Muslims with the same brush. How islamophobic.
Pamela Geller on NBC News: Report on the "Islamorealism" counter jihad ads
Telling the truth is the greatest sin to the multiculturalist because it bursts their fairy tales. The truth shows to the whole world that not all cultures are equal. Some are plain better than others; they're fairer, more life-affirming, among lots of other positives. That this might be taught to the unknowing is akin to showing the Cross to the multiculturalist vampire.
Well, tight sneakers to them. We're going to continue to unmask Islam. The posters do nothing of the sort of which Feiner complains.
How is it "hateful" and "wrong" to point out that there have been over 19,000 Jihad terror attacks since 9/11? This is a fact—although some consider it a damned inconvenient fact.
Really, according to the "politically correct", one is never supposed to notice Islamic savagery. It is considered tacky and uncomfortable at best, and "Islamophobic" or—somehow—"racist" at worst.

I would think that Metro-North's riders might be more concerned over the specter of Jihad attacks than over the *mention* of Jihad attacks.
This is especially true given the number of Jihad plots there have been targeting New York subways and trains. These commuters, in fact, as *just exactly* the sort of people who might fall victim to Jihad attacks in the West.

He is more concerned over fictitious "hate crimes" against Muslims—which these ads do *nothing* to provoke—than over *actual* hate crimes committed by Muslims.
Unless he doesn't consider Jihad violence to be "hate"...
Whats most upsetting about the sign is that it's not big enough.
O well, the way to make the signs bigger, and get more of them, is for all of us to pass round the hat.
Highway billboards.
Banners on freeway overpasses.
Let's flush the jihadists and their dhimmi enablers right out into the open where they can be seen.
There is no such thing as bad publicity, so bring it on!
On the NYC subways and commuter trains that I've been on, and in the stations, there are prominent signs that warn the public to be alert for people behaving suspiciously and about unattended packages or baggage, and urging them to report these to the authorities. The presence of such signs is due almost entirely to the past actions and/or attempts of Moslems.
Maybe another series of your ads could point this out: "Ever wondered why there are warnings about unattended packages, etc?"
I wonder if Supervisor Feiner objects to these warnings, too? They are also "upsetting".
"Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner wants Metro-North to warn passengers that the ads could be upsetting and don't represent Metro-North's views or that of the community. Our ads are statements of fact...."

This reminds me of the time I spent in our local pro-life movement. Down at the abortion mill, some of the activists had signs depicting aborted / dismembered 'fetuses' (tiny children) and from time to time someone would pull over and lecture the activists that the signs were offensive or that they had small children in the car. Others wrote letters to the editor complaining about the images. Interesting that it is what is going on within the abortion mill itself. When we were small children my mother wanted us to watch graphic documentaries of the Holocaust. It did not hurt us. How much less should these adds be upsetting? Even if the ads had graphic images of beheaded Christian girls like we see on some counter-jihad websites, why should they be upsetting? Why aren't American citizens upset by the gruesome 9/11 atrocities? I still remember those terrible images. Why aren't Americans upset by all the savagery being perpetrated by Muslims against non-Muslims worldwide?
Since the 9/11 attacks, George W. Bush and now Barack Hussein Obama have lied to the American people, assuring us Islam is a religion of peace and love. Is that what Americans want? Do the Americans want to be lied to? That is what Isaiah wrote about the people in his day. They did not want to hear the truth. They liked hearing comforting words from lying, false prophets.
Bernard Lewis, eminent historian of Islam and the Middle East, says Islam imposes, without limit of time or space, the duty to subjugate non-Muslims
In The Political Language of Islam, p. 73:
"...it is the duty of those who have accepted them [Allah's word and message] to strive unceasingly to convert or at least to subjugate those who have not. This obligation is without limit of time or space. It must continue until the whole world has either accepted the Islamic faith or submitted to the power of the Islamic state.”

There are hundreds of comparisons where truth is offensive to those who get upset over imaginary threats (global warming, islamophobia, Israel defending itself).
Humans by nature avoid confrontation, but I think we are headed for some major skirmishes in the U.S. I am a real estate broker and meet dozens of people every week, and let me say, there are a lot of fed up people in real estate investment, banking, appraisals, inspections, not to mention buyers and sellers.
We just drove from the midwest to New Jersey and saw many, many home-made signs about Obama, Holder, No Mosque (Tennessee) and justice for the Ft. Hood victims. It's coming, brother.
Ignorance is a greater obstacle to defeating Islamic freedom-crushing designs than is Islam itself.
Put another way, Islam is powerful in its nefariousness but ignorance is even more powerful with its stupidity.
Note that the channel-4 anchorman refers to the projected Moslem construction at the WTC site as "an Islamic culture center", but later mentions it as the "so-called 'Ground Zero Mosque'". He accepts its supporters' description at face value, but smears its opponents' views with the "so-called" label.
What a miserable, shameless wuss Paul Feiner is. I didn't hear him refute or even question the information in the ad. And, unless he can do that, what's his case against it? He's simply saying--literally--that, "Truth is the new hate-speech." Did he pitch a fuss and demand an "exception clause" over the anit-Israel ads (which one might expect to be more abrasive to the sentiments of his townspeople)? Pragmatically, might not those trains on which his townspeople ride be prime targets for Jidahists? Is he unaware of all the muslim terrorist plots, directed at people within his state, so fortunately broken up by law enforcement?
Paul Feiner is a textbook example of what's wrong with this country. He finds the truth unpalatable and disturbing, but can't refute it on fact--so he self-righteously calls it "hate-speech" and closes his eyes to it. And, I'm just guessing here, but I think that deep-down (where he's conveniently buried it) he knows the truth and he's frightened about the prospect for violent reaction--which he knows is always on the table (front and center) with muslims. If he can publicly dissociate himself perhaps he (and the townsfolk for whom he purports to speak) will be spared, so he hopes.
Mr. Feiner is a classic American public servant in the New Millenium, a wimp governed by denial, fear and self-righteousness. You need look no further to understand the decline in our national will and international respect.
This story from India is slightly OT but has a distinct lesson for everyone who is uncomfortable facing the truth of Islamic jihadism. India's government, media and a majority of Indians have lived in a make-believe-world where Muslims constituting 15% of the population, were just another helpless minority deserving extra protection from the state. The government ministers have declared that they sobbed at the killing of Muslim terrorists, while cases are instituted against police officers allegedly for fake encounters, making the police reluctant to take action against Muslims even when fully justified. This happened in Bombay last week, when Muslim mobs rioted protesting violence in remote Burma and Assam, snatching away police weapons, 'molesting' police women on duty and torching public property. Doctored images of self-immolating Tibetans,Chinese killed in earthquakes and Thai protestors lying down were circulated among Muslims to show alleged atrocities against Muslims in Burma and Assam. One PC Indian journalist immediately and dutifully suggested that the mob was provoked by police firing, but had no way to take this promising theme forward, when it was revealed that thousands of Muslims had poured in for the 'protest' fully fortifed with rods and petrol bombs. The frightened government has chosen to studiously ignore the inflamamtory speeches by a galaxy of mullahs in a public meeting which kicked off the riots.
Encouraged by the tame and timid response of the confused Indian state against the mob, Muslims in other parts of the country have decided to contribute their bit against the Kafir by selectively bashing up and threatening all people from the North Eastern states of India, mostly Hindus and Christians, as it would be difficult to identify only the Assamese. Thousands of Indians from NE are running away from Indian cities, leaving all their belongings behind in panic. The bewildred PC media and the leftist intellectuals are trying the tack of "NE people have always felt threatened/discriminated/unaccepted/etc in other parts of the country", but have failed to answer why thousands of Indians are running away from their homes NOW and what is being done to catch and punish the criminals who are behind this.
Coming soon to all nations with the smug 'we-are-different and this-can't-happene-here' politically correct secular liberal outlook on such things:

The thing that Feiner and those who agree with him don't understand is that views like his dominate most of the public debate only by a sort of default, not through their positions. Feiner doesn't see that his would-be debate opponents face several large disadvantages that cause many of them simply to withdraw from the public debate before it even begins. For example, if you too publicly oppose Feiner and the sharia ethos, you will face death threats and violence from Muslims, and potential penalties from cowardly or PC employers afraid of lawsuits or product boycotts. You may face social ostracism and slander from PC types and from social conformist brown nosers kowtowing to PC. You may face legal bills or bills for private security. You may have to move and go into hiding like Molly Norris and many other public critics of Islam. You may have a family with children and decide you should not put them at risk. Feiner is too out of touch to see all those silencing factors, so he supposes, like countless other people on his side, that the public prominence given to his position is a sign that his position has merited its current place.
But that's a bit like a batter who congratulates himself on getting safe to third, and is clueless that the fielders have heard they might be fired or even killed if they dare to field that batter well.
Slamdunk, good comment. I assume you wrote it and were not quoting from somewhere. If so, you should keep writing, maybe get a blog going.
George, you wrote,
And, I'm just guessing here, but I think that deep-down (where he's conveniently buried it) he knows the truth and he's frightened about the prospect for violent reaction--which he knows is always on the table (front and center) with muslims. If he can publicly dissociate himself perhaps he (and the townsfolk for whom he purports to speak) will be spared, so he hopes. That may well be true of Feiner, but even if it's not, it's still an excellent insight into the psychology of many.
The response of many non-Muslims to the climate of intimidation that is part and parcel of Islam has been well compared to the battered wife syndrome. In part out of terror and fear, the battered wife becomes afraid to look at things straight and to see things as they are, and says, "oh, it's all my fault, I did this wrong, I did that wrong, oh, he didn't mean it, oh, he couldn't help himself, I'm such a bad wife, oh, he won't do it again, oh, he's a good man," etc., etc.
George, yours is an insight into the psychology of dhimmitude -- the Islamic society's use of violence and threats against its non-Muslim members in order to create the terror and fear that can break the non-Muslim's spiritual back, as it were, and make him too afraid to see or speak about his tormentors as they actually are. After a while, that spiritual submissiveness, that surrender to the terror and violence by which the tormentor traumatizes the dhimmi mind into submission, becomes so habitual for dhimmis in the Arab world that many of them tend to lose sight of the slavishness of their political views in that world, not to mention the slavishness of many of their own ideas and spiritual states. Muslim "reformers" in the Middle East very frequently show signs of the same terrorized compromising -- they rarely if ever criticize Islam itself or Muhammad himself -- far too dangerous -- instead, they criticize the various barbaric social practices around them, while loudly pretending that none of those practices originated with Islam or are really Islamic. Yet we know through perusal of the core Islamic texts, and the earliest Muslim biographies of Muhammad, and Islam's history up to the present, that Islam and Islamic doctrine are inherently totalitarian, as Bernard Lewis pointed out .
Here's the link that didn't work in my comment above. This one works:

It is not only "offensive" to "free men" it is offensive to all humanity, men and women with any conscience.
And it is offensive not because any belief or ideology is being insulted, but because murder is the worst possible immoral crime a person can commit.

Paleologos, I am fixing my coffee ok? I'm not big into comparisons between a guy I placed my trust and confidence in when I voted for him and a guy I did not vote for. I did NOT vote for Barack Hussein Obama. Obama is not my president. I voted for Bush. Meanwhile how about contemplating and explain the following:
1) September 17, 2001
"Islam is Peace" Says President
Remarks by the President at ISLAMIC Center of Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C.
View the President's Remarks
Listen to the President's Remarks
3:12 P.M. EDT
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all very much for your hospitality. We've just had a -- wide-ranging discussions on the matter at hand. Like the good folks standing with me, the American people were appalled and outraged at last Tuesday's attacks. And so were Muslims all across the world. Both Americans and Muslim friends and citizens, tax-paying citizens, and Muslims in nations were just appalled and could not believe what we saw on our TV screens.
These acts of violence against innocents violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith. And it's important for my fellow Americans to understand that.
The English translation is not as eloquent as the original Arabic, but let me quote from the Koran, itself: In the long run, evil in the extreme will be the end of those who do evil. For that they rejected the signs of Allah and held them up to ridicule.
"The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That's not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don't represent peace. They represent evil and war.....
2) Following is the full text of President Bush's address to a joint session of Congress and the nation.
September 20, 2001
The terrorists practice a fringe form of Islamic extremism that has been rejected by Muslim scholars and the vast majority of Muslim clerics; a fringe movement that perverts the peaceful teachings of Islam.....
I also want to speak tonight directly to Muslims throughout the world.
We respect your faith. It's practiced freely by many millions of Americans and by millions more in countries that America counts as friends. Its teachings are good and peaceful, and those who commit evil in the name of Allah blaspheme the name of Allah....
(APPLAUSE)
The terrorists are traitors to their own faith, trying, in effect, to hijack Islam itself....
It's clear it has become hateful to cite Muslim attacks - on either Muslims or non-Muslims - carried out in the name of Islam since - 9/11.
Is the poster inaccurate - is it an exaggeration??
No!!
But it's a normal response - because it puts people in a little discomfort zone - as Islam should.
If you come from the Christian tradition and you just heard a speech on Islam - that leaves you feeling entirely comfortable - either you are thinking of converting [then it's - in for a penny in for a pound] or you have been presented with a false portrayal.
Purposely.
What is happening in the Islamic world is not an aberration - that is Islam.
::
This is the free world. And with this many sides can 'freely' offer their opinion. Unlike - case in point - in the Islamic world.
Muslim groups have to remember they can't fool all the people all the time!! As tough as that is to imagine for them - seeing as they taught to believe "all non-Muslims are ignorant."
@ Paleologos,
Your mindset rivals that of the Islamic ideologue in its bizarreness. Unfortunately, it's way too typical of the horseshit politics that litters this site. It's the reason why RS and his movement fail to get broader traction with the US public despite the fact that the message re repressive Islamic ideology is indisputably correct.
Remember the anti-Vietnam war saying? - If you're not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. You and those who voted for Bush caused the mess our country is in. Obama inherited it and is trying to cope. His efficiency may be questioned, but not his honesty. Bush and Cheney (Cheney and puppet Bush, more accurately) were corrupt liars who instituted a foreign policy that has dragged down the US. They knowingly lied the US into a war in part because of the thirst for oil, in part because of a daddy-complex, in part because of a bullshit religious vision.
Those who voted Bush into office should be remorseful as hell. They should not be bragging about what a virtuous stand up, have-a-beer-with-him guy he was. It was his disastrous foreign policy and taxbreaks for the rich (which comboned to turn a budget surplus into a crippling deficit) that will ensure his administration will go down in history as the worst this country has had to suffer.
Try getting a decent education before you litter these pages with your nonsensical mental musings because you and those who purport to engage in political analyses are hurting the anti-jihad movement. It would be laughable if it were not so tragic.
The differences are:
1. One guy (Bush) is an idiot who genuinely believes in that nonsense because of his ignorance of the religion. He is not alone in this misconception, millions others share this belief.
The other guy Obama, knows this is misconception is a lie and promotes it.
2. One guy though an idiot is genuinely an American patriot. He does whatever he thinks is best for America. His loyalty is not in doubt. He is not a double agent.
The other guy - you judge for yourself whether he is a patriot or not.

I am inclined to agree that knows this Bush's "Islam is peace" meme is a lie and promotes it anyway.
I don't agree with your view that Bush is "an idiot who genuinely believes in that nonsense because of his ignorance of the religion."
If Bush was and is that much of an idiot, why would he seek the highest office in the land in the first instance? If Bush is an idiot then you have to believe all the conservatives (the vast majority of the conservative movement) that knowingly placed their faith and trust in President Bush for eight years is full of idiots. Maybe we are full of idiots on the right. Nor do I buy your view that the "One guy though an idiot is genuinely an American patriot." Patriots do not provide aid and comfort to the enemy.

I was and am remorseful as hell. I agree with you, Bush (along with his loyal supporters) in large measure caused this mess we are in. By mess I am referring to this very dangerous Muslim-born (crypto-Marxist) president; America's worst nightmare. Having read virtually everything I could about Obama before the November 2008 election, I knew he was dangerous, but I did not have a clue how dangerous and destructive Obama would be. So yes, when the right goes off kilter in its support for a leader who repeatedly lies to the public about our enemy, who gives aid and comfort to the enemy, what we get is Barack Hussein Obama.
Every now and then on the Atlas site we see images of the reality of jihad.
One such, some time ago was of such an unfortunate. He'd happened to be in the Trade Centre at the wrong time, on the wrong day and had consequently jumped.
Never have I been so shocked. We imagine an intact body, maybe sprawling and bruised but this was of a completely different dimension.
You've probably seen it and I won’t go into gory detail but suffice it to say it has stayed with me.
Post 9/11 the jibberish emanating from the usual Muslim sources and backed by politicians and media alike was that jihad was an inner struggle. That was it.
What they failed to discern or explain was that in classic Islamic fashion there are two jihadic forms, the lesser and the greater and again in classic Islamic tradition by far the one which is the bulwark of expansionist muslim survival is the one named, laughably, 'lesser'.
That picture graphically exemplified the lesser jihad in all its grim glory.
A man, minding his own business, just going to work and next, he's that thing on a pavement.
Post 9/11, Madrid, London it's almost fashionable for the islamophile liberals to downgrade and jeer these catastrophic events and the term jihad has almost been relegated to red neck frothing fantasy.
Imagine if we stooped to the levels of offence these so called liberals descend to and created a real poster of islam in action.
That picture with the simple caption, 'This is Jihad'. A tag-line reading, 'Nothing to worry about folks, it's only an inner struggle', would amplify the mendacity of the MSM and dhimmis like Paul Feiner who completely fail to understand what's at stake here.
How can anyone be so obtuse not to grasp that that picture of a sordid and needless death is amplified 19,000 times and that true relentless and pityless hate was behind each death?
Accusing Pamela of fermenting hate merely by pointing out the truth is the deception that huge left wing swathe out there revel in. These self righteous clowns love the holier than thou but it’s a chimaera.
They, by refusal to acknowledge what’s really going on are the secondary haters. The ones who bolster the ultimate hate of killing innocents.
For them truth is another country and shielding the masses from it, that country’s manifesto.
The tectonic plates of huge power shifts are in motion and the whiff of confrontation grows ever more pungent. Muslims are sensing victory as we stand and watch the ME dissolve into the arms of the MB.
This is also an MB with tentacles reaching to the hearts of both American and European policy makers and who are skewing reality by both money and threat.
Pretty soon Israel will take neccessary action and a whole new can of worms will open. The truth will emerge as sure as a lanced boil erupts but will our so called leaders take heed?
The question is what will it take?
In the past, I had noticed that armed National Guard members were patrolling the Metro North train stations on the Hudson division.
I wonder what they were looking for, Paul Feiner ?
Were those soldiers train buffs, spending some time rail fanning ?
Do armed national guard soldiers typically hang out at sub urban rail road stations, because they have nothing better to do ?
Did the presence of these soldiers provoke any outcries about hatred and discrimination ?
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner is just another hypocritical, politically correct dhimmi.
The risk that some Muslims might destroy a nuclear power plant was enough for Paul Feiner to argue that it should be closed down before it was destroyed by Muslims themselves. (see vimeo.com/33643574) He can beat them to it, just as he can counter-Jihadists. Call him Mr. Proactive.
Just don't tell him that the absence of enforcement of Shaira in all its glory is offensive.
"The risk that some Muslims might destroy a nuclear power plant was enough for Paul Feiner to argue that it should be closed down before it was destroyed by Muslims themselves."
What a complete fool! There's also a risk that Moslems might destroy the Metro-North rail line, too. So according to Feiner, that should be shut down. And they might destroy the Tappan Zee bridge, so better shut that down before they do. And maybe they'll attack Westchester Community College, so that should be shut down as well. And, and, and,.... Better shut down everything before the Moslems destroy them.
"... amplified 19,000 times ..."
Just to clarify, that figure of 19,000 (now up to 19,450) is the number of attacks. But the attacks average 4.5 to 5 fatalities per attack, so the total number murdered is about 100,000.
exactly why do you think that RS movement is failing?

"If Bush was and is that much of an idiot, why would he seek the highest office in the land in the first instance?"
There are various types of intelligence. A person can be politically astute yet an idiot in other intelligences.
Do idiots not seek political office, including the highest one? Are all politicians intellectual giants? Can you not think of any politician who might be deficient in intelligence? This guy also has born again Christian beliefs. He has an unshakeable belief that his invasion of Iraq was right and approved and sanctioned by God.
What about Muslim politicians? Are they also all very intelligent? Morsi? Ahmadinejad? etc. They genuinely believe in their religion too, that it is right and righteous and Jews should be killed to bring on the Judgement day.
"If Bush is an idiot then you have to believe all the conservatives (the vast majority of the conservative movement) that knowingly placed their faith and trust in President Bush for eight years is full of idiots."
So your argument is "the vast majority of the conservative movement" are not idiots, but very intelligent people. They have "knowingly placed their faith and trust in President Bush", knowing full well that he is a traitor. They are thus not gullible idiots but intelligent traitors.
The world is full of idiots. I wouldnt quite classify you as an Einstein either.
And you are not the only patriot in America, who can judge all others by your exclusive definition of patriotism.

Fear is certainly one important factor in explaining proto-dhimmitude; but it only reasonably explains it broadly when Muslims have sufficient power over the people they are terrorizing.
In a broad and complex situation where you have staggeringly disproportionate power dynamics -- as we have in the modern West, where Westerners are de facto stupendously more sophisticated and powerful (legally, politically, intellectually and technologically) than Muslims, then fear cannot be the sole, nor even the main, factor explaining why the West exhibits such a broad and deep magnitude of proto-dhimmitude in the presence of such a still relatively minuscule and weak threat.
Another important factor in the equation is the dogma of reverse racism that has developed throughout the modern West in the past half century. Precursors to this dogma existed prior to that time, of course, but the key difference is its escalation to mainstream dominance socially, politically, legally and culturally.
This dogma of reverse racism is the cornerstone of Politically Correct Multi-Culturalism (PC MC), which itself is the reigning unofficial law of the land throughout the West. It reflects a sea change in worldview among nearly all types of people in the West -- those on the Left, those on the Right, those in the Center, those just comfortably apolitical; as well as socially those who are "Elites" and those who are Ordinary People (and the many gradations between these two quaintly archaic polarities).
This dogma of reverse racism is an irrational deformation of a good virtue. It has two main parts:
1) irrationally excessive respect for the Other
2) irrationally excessive self-criticism of the West.
Both stem from good virtues:
1) an interest in transcending tribalism toward universalism, and an interest in other cultures and in broadening ethics and love to all humans, not just those in the in-group
2) healthy self-criticism, which is the mark of an individual and of a society that can progress most creatively and productively.
Needless to say, it is at the very least an insult to those virtues to twist them into their irrational forms, as the West has been doing so earnestly and assiduously -- and it becomes more than a mere indulgence in irrationality when it has the effect of endangering the lives of our citizens on a broad scale, in the name, moreover, of respecting an ideology that is diametrically opposed to most of our ethics and liberal values.
Miriam (what a lovely name),
I didn't say the anti-jihad movement was failing. I said it was failing to get better traction because... this site and the movement in general has been diluted (sidetracked) with contentious, often vacuous, political analyses. The all too common political mudslinging that goes on here marginalizes the movement and alienates many mainstream people who might otherwise become critics of Islamic ideology. There should be a lot more Eric Allen Bells.
The immutable truth about the Islamic belief system is that it is homophobic, misogynistic, supremacist and contrary to the western democratic ideals of separation of church and state, freedom of speech and freedom of conscience. The right v left schism that RS and some similarly minded freedom fighters promote is a bad strategy for winning the struggle against Islamic jihad and worldwide influence. This politicking that so often occurs here is largely irrelevant to the core purpose of the movement which is to enlighten the masses about the true tenets of Islam, to stop the spread of Islamic governance and influence, and ultimately to reform Islamic law and governance where it already exists. And in that process hopefully benefit an end to the mideast war that will allow Israel a fair shake.
Why does the movement need to get mired in political mudslinging when all it needs to do raise the consciousness of the masses is simply recite the truth about Islamic ideology and point out the manifestation of Islamic human and civil rights abuses when and wherever they occur.
That is my point.
wildjew,
When I look at "W", who had the misfortune of having 911 reign down on his head in his first term, and barry hussein who is a community organizer, pos POTUS, (illegally elected to that office), there simply is just no comparing the two.
No one has answered Donald Trump's simple question, "If barry hussein was born in Hawaii, why hasn't anybody come forward, and said something like, 'Oh yeah ... I remember when little barrack was knee high to a grasshopper.'"
The answer is that little barry hussein is a Kenyan born muslim who FAILS the natural born citizen requirement to be POTUS.
The last, best hope to have that situation rectified in the US legal system died here:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/21808122/Judge-Carter-Ruling-on-MTD
I might add that California has one of the most corrupt legal systems in the country.
So, again, I implore you to stop throwing "W" into the halal fecal wastes that accumulate in the porta potties at your nearest local mosque, and concentrate on "How the hell did we elect a godamn muslim to POTUS?"
I understand your point, darmand, about the need to build bridges between the Left and Right to present a more formdiable front to Islam, but the fact of the matter is that loads of Leftists out there are actually strong allies of jihadists, apologists par excellence, and very few on the Left really "get" Islam. Indeed, Leftists aplenty throughout the West demonize people like Pamela Geller, Geert Wilders and Robert Spencer with a venom which is quite poisonous. This is just the way it is and I don't think being nice to Leftists is a way to turn this enormous stupidity by Leftists around.
Now, there are many on the Right who still don't get Islam, but almost everyone that does can be found on the right side of the political spectrum. Can you name for me a single Democrat who has indicated, as so many Republicans have, that Islam has many troubling doctrines in it that are a menace to freedom and other good things? And even if you could name one or two it would still not negate my overall point here and that is that the Left is profoundly wrong on the matter of Islam. And so it's the fault of the Left and not those who criticize the Left for their extraordinary ignorance. In fact, to some extent, you're blaming the victim, victims like Geller, Wilders and Spencer, who have been viciously attacked not only by Muslims but by Leftists too.
I see what you are trying to say. I came to the US from Iran when I was around 19 years old, one thing I have learned about our system of government here regardless of who is in the office is that our system is not based on democaracy, but is based on bribery. who ever gives more gets more. I haapee to think bboth obama and bush are and were disastreous to say the least. however wellington's post bekow has some truth to it as there are more people in the right questioning islam than there are people in the left. I do not see RS being political here and I do see this site as an educational forum. most everything posted here by robert is telling everyone what Islam is all about. I have not been able to find any other sites that are as information based/awarness based than this site.

Notice that the Usual Suspects (and the road of Jihad Watch comments over the years is littered with the bones of others) -- darmanad, Rich, doughnuts, and ecosse (man what a sorry bunch) -- never go into the threads that count, but seem to choose very carefully which threads they are going to spew their viscous webs of sophistry. You won't find them commenting on reports all around this thread, like:
Ahmadinejad: "With the grace of God and help of the nations, in the new Middle East there will be no trace of the Americans and Zionists"
Newly recruited Afghan policeman murders two U.S. troops
Tanzania: Teenage girl who converted from Islam to Christianity gets two years prison for false accusation that she desecrated a Qur'an

Muslim Brotherhood 'Crucifies' [literally] Opponents... Last Wednesday, August 8, "thousands of the Muslim Brotherhood's supporters" attacked 6-October's media facilities, beat Khaled Salah—chief editor of the privately-owned and secular Youm 7 newspaper—prevented Yusif al-Hassani, an On TV broadcaster, from entering the building, and generally "terrorized the employees."
Tunisia: Islamic supremacists block comedy show that "offends Islam"

French rioters from France's Muslim former colonies
POLICE are on high alert in France amid fears that riots in the northern city of Amiens could spread through the country's tinderbox suburbs...
Mr Hollande was speaking as the French awoke to discover scenes of destruction in the usually calm city, where a school and a sports centre were razed in clashes between about 100 rioters and 150 police in the early hours of yesterday.
Police failed to make any arrests.

Etc., ad Islamonauseam...
************
And this is only part of merely this week's stories on the various fanatically insane atrocities and displays of savagely intolerant hatred which Muslims have been doing in various parts of the world including in the West.
This is why we are here commenting in JW. Not because of peripheral smokescreen issues which darmanad, Rich, doughnuts, and ecosse would like to throw out like Molotov smoke-bombs to obfuscate the real problem we face with Islam.
What darmanad fails to factor in is that almost always, whenever we see politicians in the US doing various things or saying various things that show they are aware, at least in hopeful part, of the problem of Islam, we see an "(R)" by their name. Michelle Bachmann and her preciously few three colleagues are a case in point.
Another recent one was the ghastly but unsurprising partisan breakdown on the vote whether to support, or not support, New York for its continuing effort to surveil Muslim places of interest (mosques, Islamic centers, etc.). A look at the roll call of the vote shows that overwhelmingly, Democrats voted against the amendment, while overwhelmingly, Republicans voted in favor of it.
http://hesperado.blogspot.com/2012/05/left-and-right-in-black-and-white.html
So there is a problem with Leftists being egregiously laggard with regard to the problem of Islam.
And this pattern may be seen in Europe and the UK as well (with exceptions -- Pim Fortuyn, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Geert Wilders -- that prove the rule).
However, that doesn't let the majority of conservatives off the hook who continue to be remiss in this regard as well.
But simple-minded thinkers cannot pat their heads and rub their stomachs at the same time -- i.e., they cannot think two thoughts at the same time:
1) Non-Leftists aren't perfect with regard to the problem of Islam and show disturbing signs of being way too soft on Islam themselves;
however
2) Leftists are, on balance, worse than non-Leftists with regard to waking up to the problem of Islam, and this has a lot to do with Leftist sociopolitical culture, which tends to be PC MC with a zesty vengeance.
The simple-minded thinker is so anxiously concerned to protect the insight of #1, he can't allow #2 to be noticed and thought through -- not even by himself.
Hats off to my fellow Islamophobes Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer.
Great work. Keep it up. I love you guys.
Twenty first Century awareness will end the dispute between Sunni and Shiite; they both will agree that it is impossible for a sky god named Allah to exist. Only the Goddess Lady Luck will be worshipped; her presence is always felt. Mosques and other houses of worship can be converted into casinos; horny men will get a complimentary room with a naked lady called Luck, lonely women get her pimp.
Notice you are taking my name in vain again you brainless cretin.
You are the same imbecile who said (paraphrasing) - I have thought of a great Romney slogan to ensure his victory against Obama "Obama is so abysmally bad, even Romney manages, just barely, to be marginally better. Vote Romney!"
The slogan is verbatim the one you gave.
Why the hell must I comment on every F@#K*&G thing you want me to comment on you piece of crap?
You are a coward who probably in real life if confronted by a Muslim would shit in his pants and scream - I believe in Allah and testify Muhammad is his prophet.
Just shut up about me, put your tail between your legs and remain in the toilet where you belong.
traeh, who do you think I am... Fareed Zakaria? :)
@ Paleologos,
".. Obama inherited it and is trying to cope. His efficiency may be questioned, but not his honesty."
... darmanad
darmanad ... I question greatly barry hussein's honesty. I believe he is in the POTUS office illegally, was not born in Hawaii, but in Kenya Africa, is a muslim, and FAILS the natural born citizen requirement. That is my belief. Now you please tell me why I cannot question his honesy.
Bush and Cheney (Cheney and puppet Bush, more accurately) were corrupt liars who instituted a foreign policy that has dragged down the US. They knowingly lied the US into a war in part because of the thirst for oil, in part because of a daddy-complex, in part because of a bullshit religious vision. ... daramand
darmanad, the fact is that this country, with its vast coal, gas and oil reserves, should be independent of arab/muslim oil. Your thirst for oil argument is baseless. There is so much oil in the Gulf of Mexico, it is literaly bubbling through the ocean floor in places. We have more natural gas capability than any other country on planet earth. We know how to get shale oil. We are not drilling in Alaska as aggressively as we should, and Gulf of Mexico drilling has been brought to a standstill ... all because of barry hussein. He also stopped the Canada to US pipeline ... why?
Those who voted Bush into office should be remorseful as hell. They should not be bragging about what a virtuous stand up, have-a-beer-with-him guy he was. It was his disastrous foreign policy and taxbreaks for the rich (which comboned to turn a budget surplus into a crippling deficit) that will ensure his administration will go down in history as the worst this country has had to suffer. ... darmanad
darmanad, Bush had 911 happen on his watch, not because of foreign policy failures, but because islam is once again trying to take over the world. He fought 2 wars, and did spend too much.
barry hussein has racked up as much debt in one term as Bush did in two terms, and is spending us into becoming a banana republic.
Try getting a decent education before you litter these pages with your nonsensical mental musings because you and those who purport to engage in political analyses are hurting the anti-jihad movement. It would be laughable if it were not so tragic. ... daramanad
I challenge you to refute anything I have stated on this web site with the facts. Until then, I will go with my mental musings over your typical slogan laden, left wing baloney.
Wendy Chamberlain, American Ambassador to Pakistan under President George Bush, as she visits a madrassa , an Islamic school: “My objective here is to explain America to Pakistan and Pakistans to Americans. Elsewhere, schools like this one have been fronts for terrorists. In some of these madrassas’ it’s not as much religious education as political indoctrination. These were the recruiting grounds for the Taliban. To think that these extremist groups have the audacity to say that they commit terrorism in the name of Islam is just wrong; that is not Islam, that is not the spirit of Islam. That’s just plain terrorism.”
A couple of weeks later 9/11 happened and the Ambassador came home. …”In a very odd way 9/11 became the vehicle for the solution of a lot of our problems with Pakistan” she says (plus millions of dollars in aide to Pakistan).
Hence, the "War on Terror" decoupled from Islam ideology which seems to have been promoted in advance of 9/11. Who was advising President Bush to understand Islam in this way and then disseminated this to the American people (did Bush have an Islamic scholar like Spencer at hand? I doubt it)and to what intent? Muslim Obama usurped President Bushs' original intent?
Regardless, I wish President Bush and Laura Bush all the best in Dallas with their new Center and I think they are light years away from the present occupants of the White House.
Ebonystone wrote, replying to logdon:
"... amplified 19,000 times ..."
Just to clarify, that figure of 19,000 (now up to 19,450) is the number of attacks. But the attacks average 4.5 to 5 fatalities per attack, so the total number murdered is about 100,000.
..........................
*Very* important point, Ebonystone—and one that is key to keep in mind—most of these attacks have multiple casualties.

This is *completely uncalled for*. These are all excellent posters, whose comments are well worth reading.
If you disagree with someone's position on some issue, fine—make your case.
But these ugly ad hominem attacks are just nasty, and reflect much more negatively on yourself than on your targets.
I would advise counting to ten before you push "Publish".
Have you read what Lemon lime wrote about me? Why is he so concerned about which threads I comment on or not?
And about lumping me with people I dont know and saying "man what a sorry bunch", totally unsolicited and out of the blue? Is that not an ad hominem attack? And moreover appropos nothing. Merely the fact that I have not commented on the threads he would have wished me to.
How come you have not thought anything amiss about that?
Do you have an old boys network here where you slap each other's back and criticise anyone else who dares to comment here, at will?
PS Re: my comment to wildjew have you read the substance of what I wrote? Does my reasoning make sense to you?
PS Re: my comment to wildjew have you read the substance of what I wrote? Does my reasoning make sense to you?
"*Very* important point, Ebonystone—and one that is key to keep in mind—most of these attacks have multiple casualties."
Also important to note is that the jihadists usually (if not always) intended to kill more than circumstances permitted -- as with Major Hasan, who could have murdered dozens more if someone hadn't shot him.
This is closely related and analogous to the reasonable assumption that a planned, but failed, terror attack counts every bit as much as a successful one, in terms of informing us of the deadly-serious fanaticism of the enemy. Thus, that list of terror attacks should include the likely thousands of failed attempts and still-born ones.

"The truth will make you free".
