The weekly jihad roundup on Sun TV's Michael Coren Show.
Robert Spencer on Michael Coren Show on Obama's Ramadan fantasies and more
Wonderful Show!
My goodness. Someone just sent this to me. Almost looks like something about the Jews from the Qur'an or the Hadith. Yikes!
"I would rather undertake to convert five thousand Lamanites [native Americans], than to convert one of those poor miserable creatures [Jews] whose fathers killed the savior... Yes, I would rather undertake to convert the devil himself, if it were possible... I would say, leave them, and come home, the Lord does not require you to stay there, for they must suffer and be damned... [L]eave them to live and die in their sins and ignorance... [T]hey take pleasure in their wickedness..." (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 2, p. 143, 1854) http://brighamyoungquotes.com/?p=26

U.S. Muslims share friendship, similar values with Mormons
The link is based not on theology but on shared ideals and a sense of isolation.

Obama repudiated his twenty year pastor / spiritual mentor because of the controversy he (Wright) caused. Of course it was an empty gesture. I wonder if Romney will be asked about his church's disposition toward the Jews.
Egun on! (Good morning!)
You are misinformed, my friend!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not at all anti-Semitic; in fact, it is very suuprtive of Israel and of the Jewish people. I have never heard any negative things said about Jews in my many years of Church membership, and in fact members of the Church are very supportive of their fellow Jewish friends...the LDS Church has warm relations with Israel and has the Brigham Young University Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies on Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem.
Leaders of Israel have visited Salt Lake City numbers of times, and the Church has warm relations with them.
Brigham Young had his own opinions, and the one you quoted was definitely at odds with other leaders of the Church. Our present President, Thomas S. Monson, has a great love for the Jewish people, as have I! I consider Islam to be a serious threat to Israel, as it is to all other free peoples!
Eskerrik asko! (Thank you!)
Gero arte! (See you later!)
Thanks. I am glad you are a member of Romney's church. Leaving church teaching aside for now, how would you respond to the following -- I cannot swear by all of it but some of it I can -- in Romney's behalf? In spite of all she's written she's not ruled out voting for Romney. I did not vote for Obama, NOR would I, I am not sure what I will do in the voting both come November. In 2004, I turned the president's page. Ms. Schlussel seems to be the only one looking into this. Does any of the following trouble you:

Knowing all I do about Mitt Romney, I can not imagine him not supporting Israel wholeheartedly. He has expressed his concern about Islamic jihad a nummber of times and he call jihad by its name every time he discusses Islamic terrorism.
I am sure that, should he win the presidency, he would restore confidence in American exceptionalism and he would enforce the laws of the land, and weed out those attempting to subvert our freedoms. In any case, we would not have a dhimmi in the White House!
I expect Romney to be better than Obama in terms of the economy and national security, etc. - who wouldn't be? - but you are not answering my question. How do you explain Romney's anti-Semitic friends and advisers? Don't you think Romney could find good people to surround himself with that aren't Jew-haters? As to your point that Governor Romney "has expressed his concern about Islamic jihad a nummber of times and he call jihad by its name," I have found the EXACT opposite to be the case thus far. Can you produce anything that might bolster your claim?
Governor Romney is on record stating I think in 2009, jihad (or "jihadism") has nothing to do with Islam or it is an entirely different entity from Islam.
Really?
I am not a deeply religious man but I believe in God. If Romney behaves like George W. Bush - who also cursed Israel - can we expect someone like Obama in the future? Or worse?
A few weeks back, Romney was asked by a reporter about Congresswoman Bachmann and her four Congressional associate's call for investigating Muslim Brotherhood penetration into the government. Romney said: "That isn't part of my campaign."
National security isn't part of Romney's campaign?
I've got another question or two. Since R. Spencer has written at least two books about the prophet Muhammad ("The Truth about Muhammad, Founder of the World's Most Intolerant Religion" and a later book, I've not read, questioning if Muhammad actually existed), does it not matter whether a man claiming to be a prophet of God, was in fact a true prophet of God? And if a man claims to be a prophet of God, doesn't his life's example matter to those who follow his teachings, not to mention his example?
Kaixo!
If you are comparing Muhammad to Brigham Young, there is no comparison. Muhammad was all of the things Robert Spencer has pointed out. Brigham Young was a man of peace and magnanimity,bu he, as do all other human beings, had a few faults, too, and his remarks about the Jews was a prime example.
Name one prophet in history who was without fault! After all, they were human beings with human failings!
I am confident that Romney will be far more concerned with Islamic terrorism than Barack H Obama; it is not on the front burner in his campaign because he would be vilified in the MSM as an Islamophobe and a bigot. And, unfortunately, most of the voters would fall for that porpaganda...too bad, but that is just the way it is, right now...
I live in Idaho, a very conservative state, but most folks think that fears of Islamic jihad (both violent and stealth) are ginned up by latter-day McCarthyite alarmists. I have posted a lot on the Idaho Statesman newspaper's website, and most of the posters there regard me as an extreme right-wing anti-Muslim fanatic. I simply point out the truth, often quoting from Robert Spencer, Raymond Ibrahim, etc. but it seems to fall on "deaf eyes"...to them, Robert et al are hatemongering liars...
I, too, have read nearly all of Robert's books, and they are intensely informative...
In no way am I comparing Muhammad the warlord with Joseph Smith. You say Brigham Young but wasn't Smith your church's earliest prophet? Why didn't you say Joseph Smith? I find that perplexing. I just downloaded and am reading a book called "The Mormon Mirage: A Former Member Looks at the Mormon Church Today" by Latayne C. Scott. Are you familiar with this "apostate" or her work? I might listen to Robert Remini's biography of Joseph Smith in light of the possibility we might have our first Mormon or prophet or both in the White House.
I guess my question is this, beyond theology inherent in Mormonism which I have not studied. A Christian reader might correct me on the following. Both Jews and Christians believe prophecy ended at a certain point in antiquity. The Jews believe it ended with our last prophet codified in the Hebrew Bible, the so-called Old Testament. Was that Malachai or one of the minor prophets? Most Christians I know do not claim that Jesus was a prophet so he did not have to prophecy like the ancient prophets. Christians believe Jesus was either God or "a" god (J. Witnesses) as the case may be.
What I find perplexing with respect to Mormons (and with Muslims), how can you accept that there were true prophets of God in the nineteenth century (Muslims in the 7th century CE) when prophecy clearly ended before the Common Era according to the Bible. The prophet wrote that it would end around that time.
Kaixo!
Thank you for your interest!
There is nothing in the New Testament which states that revelation from God is closed. Members of the LDS Church believe that Joseph Smith received revelation from God restoring His Church and he received additional ancient scripture (the Book of Mormon). The one statement which suggests that revelation ended was referring to the one statement in Revelations stating that "no one could add or subtract anything from this book", and in reality that meant only the one book, not future revelations...
I was not stating that Brigham Young was the first Latter-Day Prophet; sorry for the implication. And I am not familiar with Latayne Scott. There are a few former Church members who have written "revelatory" books about the LDS Church, but their derogatory claims are open to question, to say the least.
I think you are mistaken about Christians not believing that Jesus Christ was a Proophet. He certainly was, besides being the Son of God and, we believe, the promised Messiah....
Mitt Romney is certainly not a Prophet, and he certainly will not push his religion on anyone. And I do believe that he will be far more aware of the threat of Islamization than the current White House occupant! He certainly is a friend of Israel and will make sure that our special relationship with that beacon of freedom in the Middle East will be enhanced!
Best wishes!
Agur!
This is perplexing. You say you think I am mistaken about Christians not believing that Jesus Christ was a Prophet. "He certainly was, besides being the Son of God and, we believe, the promised Messiah..." I know in at least one of the gospels he is recorded saying a prophet is without honor except in his home town or city but I wonder how can God Almighty be a prophet and one in the same time be God Almighty?
No where in the Bible does it say God is a prophet. He is God. He is spirit and He fills the heavens and the earth. God is not a man that He would prophecy. He is God.
Unlike the prophets in the OT, Jesus never said, "Thus says the LORD God of Israel...." He did not speak as a prophet speaks. He spoke as a teacher would speak, like Solomon or David or Nehemiah or Ezra (who were not prophets) might speak to the people.
You wrote: "Name one prophet in history who was without fault! After all, they were human beings with human failings!"
I've got to take slight exception to what you are proposing. Sure, none the true prophets of God were without fault, but they were all men of integrity. None of God's prophets did the kind of things Muhammad reportedly did according to the Qur'an and the Hadith. It's one thing to be human with human failings. It is quite another to be a low life and a reprobate. That is why I am reading about the life of Joseph Smith who claimed he was a true prophet of God. Was Smith a man of integrity like Moses and Joshua, Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc.?
I certainly believe Joseph Smith was a man of integrity, and God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all divine.
We also believe that Christ was not only the Son of God, but the greatest of the Prophets. Of course, Islam claims that Jesus (Issa) was merely one of the Islamic prophets, and but a slave of Allah....and that when he returns he will destroy all Christians, Jews, and all other Kuffar...
But let us not forget that we all, Christians and Jews, have one common enemy...implacable Islam. It is more important that we all be united in opposition to sharia law and to islamic aggression and subversion than in disagreeing among ourselves about religious doctrine....

You are right. Do you think Governor Romney will put away his anti-Semites?
Yes!
If you want to see anti-Semites, look at Obama's team!
The Liberal/Lefists have a odd and sick romance with the
islamofascists.
But worse, their hatred for Christians is sellective because as they bash our PM (Mr.Harper) as a oppressive Christian right winger, these same haters exhalt Jean Chretien, Paul Martin and Pierre Trudeau whom were Liberals but also Christians.
The leftists also support Hamas while we all know how Hamas murders gays in public and uses females and children as suicide-bombers. So it it always very rich for a Leftists to try to educate me on Human Rights and equality when the endorse gay-bashing and pedophilia outside of canada in islamic hell holes.

Like our radio talk show host told a caller the other day --when he demanded that people show respect for this democratically elected president -- Barack Obama is a unrepentant liar. Anyone with a half a brain can see it.
