Will the virgins reject him for being underage? "Afghan: Boy suicide bomber kills children in attack on Kabul Nato headquarters," by Ben Farmer in the Telegraph, September 8 (thanks to Anne Crockett):

A boy suicide bomber killed at least six people when he blew himself up close to Nato's headquarters in Kabul, police said.
Several children were killed in the attack, which Taliban insurgents claimed was directed against a CIA office.

Kabul's deputy police chief, Gen Daud Amin, said witnesses described the bomber as around 14 years old and carrying a bag.

He detonated himself in a street near the heavily fortified Nato headquarters, in an area close to Afghan government ministry buildings and the Italian embassy.

Children who sell chewing gum and trinkets to soldiers from the base were among the dead, he said. All the casualties were civilians and Nato said none of its personnel were killed or wounded.

The area is supposed to be one of the most heavily guarded in Kabul, but it has been breached by suicide attackers in the past. A car bomb close to the scene killed seven and wounded dozens in August 2009.

Sediq Sediqqi, spokesman for the Afghan interior ministry, blamed the blast on the Haqqani Network faction of the Taliban, which has been held responsible for a string of suicide bombings and assaults on the capital.

The bombing came hours after the Pakistan-based network was designated a terrorist organisation by the American government. The classification will allow Washington to seize assets and block funding to the militant movement, which is considered the most sophisticated and dangerous arm of the insurgency.

Mr Sediqqi speculated the bombing was retaliation for the blacklisting.

Brig Gen. Günter Katz, a Nato spokesman, said: "If these reports are true, by taking advantage of an impressionable child to carry out this attack, the insurgents display cowardice.

"Forcing underage youth to do their dirty work again proves the insurgency's despicable tactics. They are completely detached from Afghan society and the interests of the Afghan people who desire peace and stability in their country."

Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban, said the attack had been carried out by a 28-year-old from Logar province. He said it had targeted a CIA torture centre and killed and wounded a number of American agents....

It has been said that if some tell the same lie lie again and again to the same person that person will enevtually end up believing that lie. To put this in another way, as one writer explained "The bigger the lie, the more frequently it is repeated the more people will believe it."[1] It's an old brainwashing method that goes way back. Also not letting the person get any outside information further programs the victim. That's just what all these madrassas do is brainwash the youth into becoming mujahiden for the jihad. Therefore, all these brainwashed youth have a very narrow and closed worldview. Furthermore "promise" of some kind of paradise with virgins,houris, for the jihadist who dies for the cause of Islam is just a falsehood and lie that from the Quran and the hatiths which is nothing more then a false story/doctrine. These false teachers,such as these imams and mullahs, of this type story/doctrine of a place with virgins was predicted in the Bible. Which reads "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;and they shall turn their ears away from the truth, and shall beturn unto fables." Second Timothy 4:3,4. Also, First Timothy 1:4. warns "Neither give heed to fables..." In contrast to the jihadist pipdream, Christian have the reality of Second Peter 1:16. In Israel a 14-year-old mentally retarded boy was caught and stripped of his bomb belt. He was tried and asked why he wanted to commit a suicide bombing. He answered: "I want to be a martyr, that's better then being a football star." Obviously you have to set priorities and that's what the unholy Koran does.

They *always* display cowardice. If they had killed children with an adult bomber this would still have been cowardly and repulsive—using a child just makes it even worse.

Would that this were true. Afghan Muslims have been avidly waging Jihad for centuries. This sort of barbarism is *very much* a part of "Afghan society".

I've often wondered how the suicide-bombing mentality transfers to children (and for that matter female suicide bombers) as the promise of 72 virgins does not really seem that tempting to a pre-pubescent child.
After hearing some of the lies dished out to these wannabe child bombers, (some were told that the bomb wouldn't hurt them and only infidels would die) I now know that not only is Islam full of lies, but that it even lies against its own scriptures, in fact it's all about lies and nothing but telling lies. Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, after all are meant to be devout Muslims, fearful of blasphemy and fearful of lying against the teachings of Islam, yet they are not averse to inventing scripture when it suits their own purpose. Is this not against Allah and his word? Apparently not!
If the Taliban and other terrorist groups can venture against the teachings of Islam and invent new scripture to suit their own aims, whilst accusing anyone else of blasphemy for daring to change even one verse then why can't they invent new scripture to say that Allah loves non-Muslims and that Islam must stop persecuting non-Muslims? However they don't!
This is the crux of what Islam is all about.
It's not about following the teachings of the Koran or even about following the exact unchangeable teachings of a false god. It's about power, greed, lust, violence and sadism.
This is the final and absolute proof that Islam is a tool of Satan and that Islam is evil to the very core.
There is no room for compromise, Islam must be eradicated and Muslims set free. I am convinced that Islam is the most evil force on the planet today, bar none!

But I take your point.

I believe there are a number of factors. There is the idea that waging Jihad represents a "good deed" under Islam, and the fact that "Martyrs" are so revered.

Then there is also coercion and threats from adult Muslims, parents, and husbands.

But there is another factor besides the "carrot" of dark-eyed Houris, and that is the "stick" of Jahannam (hell) and the "torments of the grave". While these sound pretty ridiculous to most infidels, pious Muslims take them *very* seriously, and would do a great deal to avoid them.

I seem to recall encountering the idea somewhere - not able to give a reference at the moment, my eyesight is still bad enough to make too much reading of small print a strain - that each shahid, that is, each person who immolates himself as this kid did, performing a ritual sacrifice of himself in the act of human-sacrificing others to allah, not only gets into 'paradise' but is able to get *seventy* of his relatives into 'paradise' as well.

In other words: if this is a correct account of the belief, then a Mohammedan mama, sh*t scared of the 'torments of the grave', will have a *huge* incentive to send at least one kid off to blow himself up, because it means that she and a whole bunch of the rest of the clan get to bypass the 'torments of the grave' and go straight to 'paradise' when they die...

Islam is a human sacrifice cult.
