Democrats remove pro-Israel language from platform

As their president has embraced the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and stateside, so now the other shoe drops, as the Democrat Party abandons Israel.

Several pro-Israel sections of the 2008 Democratic Party platform have been removed from the 2012 platform—on Jerusalem, Palestinian refugees, and Hamas. The new platform represents another shift by the Obama Democrats toward the Palestinian position on key issues in the peace process.
For Jerusalem, the new platform has been brought into line with the Obama administration’s policy of not recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and supporting its division. Jerusalem is unmentioned in the 2012 document, whereas the 2008 and 2004 Democratic Party platforms declared “Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel…It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.” The Obama administration’s refusal to recognize Jerusalem has been a point of significant controversy in recent months.

On the issue of Palestinian refugees, the new document has removed language from the 2004 and 2008 platforms specifying that Palestinian “refugees” should be settled in a future Palestinian state, not in Israel.

The 2004 platform: “The creation of a Palestinian state should resolve the issue of Palestinian refugees by allowing them to settle there, rather than in Israel.”

The 2008 platform: The peace process “should resolve the issue of Palestinian refugees by allowing them to settle there, rather than in Israel.”

The 2012 platform contains no language on the matter.

Previously, Obama has incorporated the Palestinian positions on Jerusalem and borders into his administration’s policies. It appears that with his party’s new platform, he is also doing so with refugees.

Gone as well is the language from 2008 on the terrorist group Hamas, which currently controls the Gaza Strip. That platform declared, “The United States and its Quartet partners should continue to isolate Hamas until it renounces terrorism, recognizes Israel’s right to exist, and abides by past agreements.”

The 2012 platform contains no mention of Hamas.

Previous platforms also contained promises to maintain Israel’s “qualitative military edge” in the region. The 2008 platform, for example, spoke of a “commitment which requires us to ensure that Israel retains a qualitative edge for its national security and its right to self-defense.” The 2012 platform mentions only that “[t]he administration has also worked to ensure Israel’s qualitative military edge in the region,” with no commitment to doing so in the future....

How much of this has the muslim brotherhood's fingers on it?

If the Big Satan and the Little Satan are seen by islam as being nothing other than one and the same, then how does one go about turning America into something which is not "Satanic" at all? Turning it into a state of sharia compliant readiness would be a reasonable objective. And getting God and Jeruslem out of the American equation helps nicely in reaching that objective.

True, the Democrat Party is now walking back these islamic- pandering planks in their platform. But their dhimmi mainstream supporters are livid about it They are like sheep to the slaughter. The socialist flock are led by their stupid and dangerous dogmas to make a moral equivalency between the followers of the Judeo/Christian God and the totalitarian barbarians who follow allah.

Of real interest is whether there was a voice within the Democrat Party that had the insight, political power and patriotism, to take America back from the edge, or whether the reversal is simply taqqiya employed in an attempt to shuffle an overplayed hand back into the deck.

Obama is going to lose the presidency. He must know it. How desperate will he and his socialist and totalitarian cohorts be between now and November 6th, and between then and Romney's inauguration? What seeds can they plant, and what damage can they do? Are there enough adults in the Democrat equation to avert catastrophe?

Hello my fellow JW commenters:
I have been an avid reader of JW for more than a year at
this point and I have learned a great deal from this site,
including from all the brilliant folks who have posted here.

There is no one in the world who understands better the
danger that Islam presents to ALL civiized nations than I
myself. There is no one who hates and despises Islam and its
hateful, murderous Koran more than I do.

Having said as much, I am uncertain about the true motives of Obama vis-a-vis Islam. He says: he supports our
Constitution, he is a Christian, he supports Israel, etc.
If in fact it is proven that he is a closet Muslim, then
I would not impeach him, I would be in favor of executing
him for treason.

However, I can NEVER vote for Romney nor for any
Republican for there is NO uncertainty in my mind. The
Republican stand on abortion & womens rights is absolutely
clear. I shout at them: DON'T SHOVE YOUR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS
DOWN MY THROAT!!!

The abortion issue may not be the single most important
issue in the upcoming election, however, those who call
themselves 'Right to Life' advocates have a certain mind-
set that would likely force other laws down my throat that
I abhor.

Well, this comes as no surprise, given Obama's policies of increasing isolating Israel, showing disrespect to representatives of Israel, and fawning over her Muslim enemies—including *increasing* aid to Egypt since the "Islamists" took over there, and staging joint war-games with that country.

I had been rather lukewarm on Romney—I still am in many ways—but I have found his strong support of Israel *very* heartening.
