France: Magazine's Muhammad cartoons prompt France to shut embassies in 20 countries

CharlieHebdoSept12.jpgSee them all here

In response, Essam Erian of the Muslim Brotherhood called for restrictions on the freedom of speech.

Is there anything anyone could say to you that would move you to riot and kill? Is the likelihood that people will riot and kill because of these cartoons sufficient reason to shut them down? Wouldn't that set a precedent whereby any group that didn't like what someone else was saying could riot and kill until he was shut down?

It reflects well on France that they didn't seize copies of the magazine or arrest Charb.

"Magazine’s nude Mohammad cartoons prompt France to shut embassies, schools in 20 countries," by Nicholas Vinocur for Reuters, September 19 (thanks to Christine):

PARIS — A French magazine ridiculed the Prophet Mohammad on Wednesday by portraying him naked in cartoons, threatening to fuel the anger of Muslims around the world who are already incensed by a film depicting him as a womanizing buffoon.

The French government, which had urged the magazine not to print the images, said it was temporarily shutting down premises including embassies and schools in 20 countries on Friday, when protests sometimes break out after Muslim prayers.

Riot police were deployed to protect the Paris offices of satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo after it hit the news stands with a cover showing an Orthodox Jew pushing the turbaned figure of Mohammad in a wheelchair. On the inside pages, several caricatures of the Prophet showed him naked.

Reacting to the publication, Essam Erian, acting head of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, told Reuters: “We reject and condemn the French cartoons that dishonor the Prophet and we condemn any action that defames the sacred according to people’s beliefs.”

Calling for a UN treaty against insulting religion, he added: “We condemn violence and say that peaceful protests are a right for everyone. I hope there will be a popular western and French reaction condemning this.”...

Calling for a UN treaty against free speech of non-muslims, meanwhile, muslims will continue to say and do whatever the fuck they want:

We ALL should push those buttons constantly. Only then will the world realise and perhaps a proper, and hopefully definitive, war can start and eliminate the threat for all time.
I don't want war but I am totally sick of being threatened by illiterate undiscipilined barbarian bragarts who live in the 7th century even when actually residing in the 21st century west. One thing I, generally a pacifist, remember from my youth is that when threatened then striking first often stops the problem progressing further.

BRAVO! BRAVO! CHARLIE HEBDO!!! WAY TO GO!

KEEP IT UP! INSULT ISLAM AND MUSLIM!

Its about time that Islam and Muslims who insult and humilate everyone in everyway they get a large dose of the same.

Couldn't happen to a more intolerant religion!

BRAVO! BRAVO!

Here is the anglicized version of one of the most outrageous cartoons published today by Charlie Hebdo. It is about Muhammad's sexual appetite for 9 year old Aisha. The link to the anglicized cartoon is http://i48.tinypic.com/157lnrs.jpg

You can see the other cartoons (in French) here: http://www.bivouac-id.com/billets/les-nouvelles-caricatures-de-charlie-hebdo/

Nude Mohammad cartoons,

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,

Now, Muslims, do you feel humiliated? Has your "honor" been destroyed?

If no to either question, then let's just consider that a start to the world of common sense. See, the world didn't end. You can still worship the black rock, wear the long beards, refuse to bathe, fart in public, and practice all sorts of other "Islamic" jokes.

Carpet bomb them with satire.

It's not war which will solve this problem, Bewick114.

It is openly discussing Islam truthfully and then taking action in ending immigration of them, mass deportations where required, and isolation of them.

You can't change them by having a war with them. What you can do is cut them off from harming advanced people in the modern world.

That's a pretty serious reaction. The editors of Charlie Hebdo have done well not to be deterred by the firebombing of their office last year. Whilst Islamists in France threaten Charlie Hebdo, Russian politicians have moved to defend Islam from 'offence' by calling for bans on the screening of the 'Innocence of Muslims' as well as the blocking of Youtube: http://durotrigan.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/charlie-hebdo-and-hysteria-of-islamists.html

I don't know about that, Abe. The Imperial Japanese and Nazis had a culture of superiority and expansionism and manifest destiny. Those ideologies were virtually destroyed in a very short time.

But I don't think it will come to that. I think Muslims are a little different than those two groups. Carpet bombing or nuking them will probably just be seen as part of the "end times" master plan, and a great opportunity for the 72 virgins.

I think these cartoons are a good idea. The real point is NOT to change the minds of the loopy Muslims, but to wake the rest of the sleeping infidel world up to what kind of people will murder you and you children over a Bugs Bunny cartoon. I think when enough people realize the threat to civilization, real measures can be taken to slowly weed this ideology out of the civilized world. Starting with immigration.

Muhammad used to walk around naked evey now and then. He walked around the Kaaba naked for nine years AFTER islam. So, what's the big deal?
http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2010/03/muhammad-and-nudity-mahomet-et-la.html

BTW, I LOVE how they've used a Bugs Bunny type of character. Now when the savages rampage, it can be referred to as being over a Bugs Bunny cartoon!

there is a big difference between a culture and a religion. however I agree with abe that war is no answer. BTW do we have a french speaking blogger here to translate these for us? I like the one with his balls hanging!!!!
M

So many buttons to push, too!

Way too much kowtowing has gone on, especially since 9-11-01. Somewhere between "we're getting the people who took dow these buildings," and "let's win their hearts and minds," Bush set the stage for the Peace Corps to replace our military. Islamists say jump and the world asks how high.

All at JW fully realize that if there were no overt provocations like these cartoons, Muslims worldwide would invent some outrage and use that false premise to terrorize.

This is precisely what just happened with our Benghazi embassy...So let's push them hard--Bugs Bunny will be the shot heard 'round the ummah.

Man accused of blasphemy in Pakistan for refusing to join anti-western, anti-free speech protests http://bit.ly/Rwli0R http://bit.ly/Rw79R7

I tend to think that there needs to be a more vigorous response to the call to end criticism of government pricks than to bunt. No OIC member government belongs in the U.N. by reason of their Sharia-compliance and their elevation of Islam above freedom. The United Free Nations has no place for Islam. Hit a home run.

Demand that Saudi Arabia be expelled for chopping the head off of "sorcerers."

Demand that Egypt by expelled for jailing a blogger for posting a cartoon on a facebook page -- for insulting Egyptian President Morsi (and some fictional character).

This can go on and on until there is no more Sharia-compliant poison left in the United Free Nations. As they might say, they are free to do as they please but there must be consequences for acting like savages. Calling savagery civilized is not one of them.

Removal of Sharia-complaince from the governing codes of member countries must be a predicate to membership in the United Free Nations. Take it back from the savages.

Here we go again---Muslims in hysterics and trying to curb free speech. If any group in the world deserves to be mocked it's Muslims. They have so richly deserved it.

MOSLEM RAGE

is reaching critical mass. At some point if enough of this blasphemous art is published it could cause a collective Islamic coronary killing thousands.

France: Magazine's nude Muhammad cartoons prompt France to shut embassies in 20 countries
........................................

**Bullsh*t**. Crazed Muslim *reactions* to the magazine's cartoons caused France to shut embassies in 20 countries.

Also—what are those "20 countries"? China? South Africa? Canada? Argentina? Of course not. All in Dar-al-Islam, every one—I'm certain of it.

More:

In response, Essam Erian of the Muslim Brotherhood called for restrictions on the freedom of speech.
........................................

Of course he did. If you read Syeed Qutb's "Milestones", one of the handbooks of the Muslim Brotherhood, one of the first orders of imposing Shari'ah is shutting down freedom of speech—*especially* for Infidels.

More:

Is there anything anyone could say to you that would move you to riot and kill? Is the likelihood that people will riot and kill because of these cartoons sufficient reason to shut them down? Wouldn't that set a precedent whereby any group that didn't like what someone else was saying could riot and kill until he was shut down?
........................................

That's that matter in a nutshell. If an individual were to stand in the middle of the town square and threaten to axe-murder anyone who dared to mention their pet peeve, they'd be arrested and sent off to the loony bin toot sweet. Magnify that by a potential 1.5 billion loonies, and suddenly you have a "great religion" which must be "shown respect". Ludicrous.

More:

It reflects well on France that they didn't seize copies of the magazine or arrest Charb.
........................................

Well, yes—but they did urge the magazine not to print the images, which is still pretty disgusting for a prominent free country. France has a proud tradition of free speech and free thinking, and they need to defend that tradition.

France should be *damn proud* of Charlie Hebdo. Even after their offices have been firebombed by Jihadists, they keep on fighting the good fight. How many of us would be so brave? I salute them!

And one of the naked images:

http://extremecentre.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Charlie-Hebdo-Mahoemt.jpg

This looks like more work by the fearless cartoonist Luz. Remember the picture of him standing in the rubble of their bombed out offices triumphantly holding up the issue of Charlie Hebdo? Inspiring.

Wow—they actually noticed that so much Muslim violence follows violent Friday Kutbahs. Of course, I wouldn't call these frequently homicidal riots "protests".

I bet you do. In other words, you want Westerners to *enforce Shari'ah for you, either out of a misguided sense of "respecting" savagery, or just out of sheer terror.

By the way, the tireless Charlie Hebdo has been lampooning Muslim oppression, as well. Here's their issue on Shari'ah raising its ugly head in Libya, with a clear reference to polygamy:

http://www.barenakedislam.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Charlie-Hebdo-Charia-en-Libye.jpg

These guys *rock*!

Translation of the cartoon.

Salafist Assholery:

Any pretext is good! (literally all pretexts are good)

the guy pointing is saying "another insulting representation of our prophet!"

These cartoons are hilarious!!! I am sure Muslims will find them funny and then they will go into their murderous rage to please Mo/allah. LOL........ha, ha, ha,....

I like that one as well, as it emphasizes the mohammedan prayer "position" (Bend Over and Take It). The big insult to mo is that is CLEARLY an uncircumcised penis in the drawing, no? Isn't that alone blasphemy?

I couldn't be more in agreement with almost everything you said, with one notable exception - I myself am not a pacifist. Considering that you are one, it is heartening for me to see that common sense can prevail under obvious circumstances.

The concept of preemptive strikes is vitally important, whether they be military, surgical (black ops), or simply psychological and demonstrative, as could be considered the case with this video and these cartoons. The significance of the effect that they have had on exposing the muslim mindset/goals to the rest of the world, especially the civilized West, cannot be understated or underestimated.

Although it may be too early and difficult for most to recognize at this time, this is a turning-point in world awareness.

Correction to above:

"Surgical strikes" would include black ops, but not be limited to them. Examples would be drone strikes and other targeted assassinations.

Apparently, according to a notice on that blog linked by "yann" above, someone just last night threw a Molotov cocktail at an office relating to the Hebdo paper:

http://www.bivouac-id.com/billets/attentat-au-coktail-molotov-contre-les-locaux-du-journal-charlie-hebdo/

"I like the one with his balls hanging!!!!"

I don't know if it's the same one, but the one I saw also had a big star on his ass, and the French caption says "A star is born".

It's strange but Share This don't allow me to send the Muhammed cartoons to Facebook and Twitter is the first time that this happen to me....weird coincidence...or not?

Prime Minister Erdoğan wants to put Turkey at the head of the list of countries to be ejected from the UN for their hatred of individual freedom.

That's the one, LL.

IMO a worldwide mockery attack will be more effective than a military or economic one. Non-stop harmless jokes and peaceful criticism, when replied to with the predictable Muslims violence and murder, will be much more difficult for Muslims to defend. The world will see nothing but peaceful mockery met with by murder, and the "moderate" Muslims will gradually start to realize that they are NOT delivering eye-for-an-eye retaliation, they are just killing critics.

Too often Muslim apologists and rabble-rousers can defend their violence by simply pointing to their side's own casualties in any given conflict. ALL attacks are always "in response to", and never instigating. But with infidel-only infrastructure and life losses, and no justification to point to but extremely pathetic videos and cartoons, IMO even the radical-leaning moderate Muslims are going to start wondering if they hold the moral high ground.

But even if they don't, at least the rest of the world will finally have their eyes opened.

Over at Care2, there's an article on parodies of Newsweek's "Muslim Rage" cover, including "Muslim Rager" (a supposed Muslim rave party, which is entirely Haram, with that mixing of the sexes, and all), and "Muslim Sage", about Middle Eastern recipes. These are, of course, impossibly lame.

The really offensive one is "Anti-Muslim Rage" where drone attacks on violent Jihadists and TSA searches—yes, *TSA searches*—are supposed to be "Anti-Muslim".

But the main difference is this: there will be no Western riots over these stupid parodies; no arson, no murders.

Not that will dissuade the dhimmi tools and their moronic moral equivalence, though...

every thing is blasphamy in islam excep the murder of innicent people and non muslims.
M

They are going to crash a jumbo jet into The Louvre. This is NO JOKE. My drawings of the attack are online at www.lesdessins.com. Au Secours!

Hi robert! do you have access to someone who speaks french? it will be really nice to see what the cartoons say.
M

These cartoons will make muslims crazy (crazier?) I love it.

..........................

LemonLime, the article this link leads to is dated November 2, 2011. I believe this refers to the Charlie Hebdo firebombing from last year.

Of course, I am well aware that they are still in danger from touchy Muslims *right now*. I hope French police do everything possible to safeguard newspaper staff.

"Although it may be too early and difficult for most to recognize at this time, this is a turning-point in world awareness."

I believe you are right, and I do hope that is the case.

Though it saddens me that people have been injured and killed during this past week of non-stop rioting, such events do help to expose just how completely incompatible Islam's teachings are with "our" way of life, and how extensively the public has been lied to about those teachings--for so long now.

You make a very sound point, CH, respecting how mockery may be more devastating to Islam than "standard" confrontation.

Generally speaking, the best thing to do to evil is to crush it and the second best thing is to mock it. But perhaps mocking Islam will prove even more effective long term than trying to crush it and thus will function as an exception to the rule.

a big "ATTA BOY CHARLIE HEBDO!"

Actually, it's the carpet bomb part I think of every time I see pictures of them blocking off the throughways in France and sticking their asses up towards Jerusalem.

Hey, isn't Bugs Bunny(a horrible cartoon that teaches kids to be smart-alecky) protected by copyright laws?

Speaking as a Christian who has seen and heard numerous insults leveled at his religion, I do not call for new enforcement of blasphemy laws. I'd rather have the First Amendment, which allows me to openly describe modern "atheisms" a bunch of idolatries either too dishonest, too stupid, or both to name their little godlets.

The only reason various Left parties in the West are even entertaining the possibility of supporting international blasphemy laws is because Muslim immigrant groups are their political clients. It is especially shameful that Hillary Clinton sounds as if she's speaking a language foreign to her when she mentions the First Amendment--when she's an American lawyer working for a supposed "constitutional law scholar".

Or, he's Prince Albert before being married to young Queen Victoria of Britain; whom everyone here would probably see as a reasonably honorable person. Well, then again, young Alfie probably took liquor and tobacco in moderate amounts. People actually fettered that young Alfie, who spent his university days with his books rather than in dueling and wenching, might not have had what it took to produce an heir.

Kepha wrote:

...................................

Well, you're right, Kepha. Although parody can be a gray area, and the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists *may* well be covered by that loophole.

On the other hand, do you think that "Wascally Wabbit" would have any trouble with being part of these cartoons? (Note: I am talking about the character himself, not necessarily the legal department at Warner Brothers).

I think he'd have rather appear in Charlie Hebdo than as "Assud", the cannibalistic Jew-hating rabbit used by "Palestinian" TV to indoctrinate tots in Gaza:

"Hamas kid TV rabbit: 'I, Assud, will get rid of the Jews, Allah willing, and I will eat them up, Allah willing'"

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2008/02/hamas-kid-tv-rabbit-i-assud-will-get-rid-of-the-jews-allah-willing-and-i-will-eat-them-up-allah-will.html

Now that would really make him mad.

In fact, Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Warner Brothers cartoon characters have a proud tradition of standing up against Fascism and other forms of tyranny. Porky Pig even fought against Jihad—in 1941! This was in the cartoon short "Ali Baba Bound", which actually features suicide bombings.

So—if Bugs' modern day cartoonists weren't such a "buncha maroons", I bet they'd be up there with the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists fighting Jihad themselves. As it is, they have Luz to do it for them...

What's the French for ROFLMAO?

Point well taken. But I still think that Elmer Fudd should've turned Bugs Bunny into Hasenpfeffer long ago.

And, as you are probably well aware, just when I thought that the opinion of the Islamic street couldn't get any lower, it's dropped another 20 point in my estimation.

Very courageous of Charlie Hebdo staff and editor to print these cartoons.

If all news and other media took this stand, the muslim world would HAVE to accept that freedom of speech of the non-muslim world cannot be wished away by them.
The type of responses given by obama and clinton encourage muslims to push further and harder to end freedom of speech.

Bravo, Charlie Hebdo.
