Calling someone a racist really is about the worst thing you can say. (Racism is pure distilled evil). I do find racist comments in the comments section of the many websites I visit and it is alarming. But I have to say that Jihad Watch and Atlas Shrugs are bright shining beacons of truth and reason. Did some textual analysis on the phrasing and tone of this writer. Had about three possible hits on "peaceful approach to". A person with the handle 651TARIK612 is my top choice but I'd only rate the likelihood of it being him at about 70%. His ideology is consistent with the above comment.

I tried to find a profile with identifying information on 651TARIK612 but came up empty. Often people will have an alias they use for their flame posts and another for their regular stuff. You can cross reference people's writing based on common phrases they use. It's not exact but I've found people using this method.

I can't spend anymore time on confirming 651TARIK612. He has a real interest in music videos and suspect one could find other aliases he used.

The poster of this threat has some computer skills since its obviously through a proxy of sorts and the email gives no hits. This says something about the person's computer skills and education level.

As an analyst, I would love to join a group of people who would research threats from Muslims. People could submit these threats then we could get to work "outing" these closet terrorists. Like psychos who first kill pets, I suspect that these lone jihadist types first start out as cyber-jihadists then move up to real violence.

I rarely post here but I want to say that we are winning the battle. As a Canadian, I follow the CBC comments which represent a very left wing cohort. The leftist tone has shifted in the past year towards being critical of Islam. When Islamists lose the hearts of secular leftists, they will have no political influence in Western society. Hello, David my friend. It’s kind of you to write to me. It’s true that I haven’t posted in quite a while. Lately I’ve been busy; but I’ve still managed to read many of the stories Robert Spencer has put up on JW, and as always, I have read the comment sections to see what the regulars have been saying. You, gravenimage, dumbledoresarmy, Wellington, traeh, Kepha, Buraq, London Jim, inter alia, are doing a fine job. You are all excellent writers.

I’m off topic and thread jumping here, but I did notice what you said on the death of Ambassador Stevens. The Ave Maria you posted immediately brought the Pater Noster to mind. (How could it not?)

In your remarks about the President, you put it bluntly and well. He does have blood on his hands. The Libya policy is his. The rush to intervene there was his idea; and the undue haste to recognize a Libyan government before the Libyans were ready for the responsibilities of governing was his grave mistake too. As Wellington has said, the man is appalling.

My own bit part in the counter-jihad has not been going very well. Among the Episcopalians of Western Washington, there is still a great deal of resistance to the idea that Islam has anything to do with forming the character or influencing the behavior of people like Daanish Rawal, that sweet-voiced atheist who has sent the threatening e-mail to Robert Spencer. I don't talk about Islam with my fellow parishioners anymore because they won't hear it. It’s dispiriting really.

The other day, while I was leaving a Seattle Mariners game, I ran into an acquaintance from my town. Since I had met him before on an interfaith project (he’s a Presbyterian), the subject of church life came up. He told me that one of the committees at his church has been hosting a series of lectures about Islam. After he described several of the speakers, he asked me if I knew anything about John Espositio.

It seems that he had been watching videos featuring Esposito outlining the history of Islam and thought the man was a deadly bore. I tried not to smile too broadly or seem too eager. I didn't want to scare him away. I was diplomatic about Espositio and said that he might find other scholars more interesting. He had not read the Qur'an, so I mentioned Bill Warner's Simple Koran. I didn’t say that while the Qur’an is often boring, it is truly deadly. And I said nothing about the how Saudis fund Islamic Studies departments in American universities, or about how Esposito, that Georgetown dweeb, is one of prince* Al-Waleed’s most faithful academic water boys. Instead, in my best reasonable guy manner, I suggested that he look up Mark Durie’s books, as well as Ibn Wassaq’s, Bat Ye’or’s, and obviously, Robert Spencer’s fine work. I also directed him to this Website. I hope I didn’t bury him with too many suggestions. He may or may not act on what I told him, but I had the feeling that day, that finally, in politically correct, dhimmified Western Washington, things may have begun to change, even if only a little.

Thanks for asking about my Dad. I’m happy to say that he is well. He continues to work in his gardens a few hours each day. There is no taking the farmer out of a farm boy. I step in now and then whenever he needs me to move something large and heavy from one place to another.
