Why not, indeed? Calls for war against Israel, the oppression and outright murder of their Coptic minority, and now attacks on our embassy—which led to the murder of four members of our diplomatic staff, including our ambassador in neighboring Libya—how can any of this be considered reason enough to stop the Jizya?
I had *hoped* that Obama's speech noting that Egypt was not exactly an ally *might* represent a belated realization of where the "Arab Spring" was headed, but I realized that was probably too much to hope for.
