Hussam Ayloush of Hamas-linked CAIR's California chapter, one of the most arrogant and obnoxious of Islamic supremacists in a field that is crowded with them, is making the point that Muslims shouldn't get angry about a movie about Muhammad, but rather at Assad's violence against them. But in any case he clearly would like to see the Syrian rebels storm Assad's palace.

With all respect, I don't believe that's the point Ayloush is making at all.
When he Tweets, "Assad is taking a break from killing Syrians & planning an offensive film against the Prophet. Let's storm his palace", I believe he is tapping in to the paranoid conspiracy theory vein of Islam, and actually implying that Assad was involved with creating "The Innocence of Muslims" movie.
And however we should interpret Ayloush's tone, he is likely right: Muslims only get so angry over having their own people killed—what *really* riles them up is any "insult" to Islam and the "Prophet".

And make no mistake: the Syrian rebels are not a charming bunch of lovers of democracy and peace, any more than they were in Egypt or Tunisia or Libya. They are Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaeda operatives, Islamic supremacists bent on establishing a Sharia state in Syria -- a state that would be as much of an enemy of the United States as Egypt and Libya are proving to be.
