Jay Carney: Protests are directed against Muhammad video, not U.S. policy or Obama Administration

BurningObama.jpgAfghan Muslims burn effigy of Obama at protests that are not against Obama

Wishful thinking. The film is just a pretext. This is a global effort to intimidate the U.S. into abandoning the freedom of speech. And Obama appears willing to do so. "Carney: Global Protests Directed At Offensive Video, Not U.S. Policy Or The Obama Administration," by Noah Rothman for Mediaite, September 14:

On Friday, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney weighed in on the ongoing protests spreading across the Muslim world that ignited on 9/11/12. Those protests resulted in the breaching of the U.S. embassy in Cairo and the assassination of the U.S. ambassador to Libya. Carney said that those protests were aimed exclusively at an offensive, anti-Muslim video and not at the United States or the administration of President Barack Obama.

Carney made it clear that the protests across the Muslim world targeting U.S. embassies and consulates, is in no way directed at the policies of President Obama’s administration.

Carney said that the protests were exclusively aimed at a video which is highly critical of Islam that a U.S.-based filmmaker put online in June:

This is a fairly volatile situation, and it is in response not to U.S. policy, not to, obviously, the administration, not to the American people. It is in response to a video – a film – that we have judged to be reprehensive and disgusting. That in no way justifies any violent reaction to it. But this is not a case of protests directed at the United States, writ large, or at U.S. policy. This is in response to a video that is offensive and – to Muslims.

Love that video... and I only saw the 14 minute one. I wish I cold see the whole thing!

Long live FREEDOM OF SPEECH!

Democrats practice their own versions of taqiyya and muruna you know? they're pathological mythomaniacs.

I did too. I was laughing my a...off!!! while the truth was being told, but the acting was funny!!!!
m

Jay Carney is such a low life...

I know he only does his master biding, but any descent person would resign when forced to tell such ugly lies.

On the spinelessness of the U.S. Presidency, the State Dept. and the Dept. of Defense to the barbarity of muslims savages currently rioting across the globe over "blasphemy offense", Thomas Mann put it best when he once said:

"Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil"

This is an extremely dangerous slippery slope. That the President of the United States through his official spokesman would proclaim that a citizen's exercise of their 1st Amendment right is "reprehensive [sic] and disgusting", is a signal to all that this president does not understand his oath of office to defend the Constitution for the United States. A law is not a law if it is not to be enforced and a right is not a right if it is not to be defended by those who we have elected to defend it. It is an explicit abrogation of democracy and history has unambiguously demonstrated that only tyranny displaces it.

I have watched the "trailer" for this film. It's hard to tell if it's a sincere effort to educate or an attempt at satire. The director is obviously not well trained, the acting is as convincing as an elementary school pageant, the set design is like something out of a pre-WWI silent film, and the costumes are as authentic as those you will see in a Shriner's parade. As art it is an utter failure and I wouldn't cross the street to see it for free unless of course admission came with complimentary beer.

Do I think the producers have a right to make and distribute such a film? On the life of my family, my neighbors, my countrymen and myself, absolutely! And they have a right to do so without the President of the United States condemning them for the exercise of that right.

It's beyond belief that such skewed misdirection would be blatantly claimed by Jay Carney on orders from Obama. How is it even remotely possible that the vast majority of the American public can't see through this charade? How could they be so willfully blind? They must see that Jay Carney is the equivalent of Baghdad Bob, don't they?

It's on my YouTube favorites list!

HAHAA! YES!!

Jay Carney: Protests are directed against Muhammad video, not U.S. policy or Obama Administration
.......................................

Uh...right. That's why Muslims are burning him in effigy in Afghanistan, and chanting "Obama, Obama, we are all Osama" at the American embassies in Tunisia and Kuwait.

The fact is that as enabling of Islam as Obama has been, no American president could *ever* be Islamic enough for pious Muslims—unless he "reverted", raised the black flag of Islam over the White House, and proclaimed a Caliphate. Not even Barack Hussein Obama could get away with *that*...

Wishful thinking. The film is just a pretext. This is a global effort to intimidate the U.S. into abandoning the freedom of speech.
.......................................

Exactly. This film looks like it was made with a couple of hundred bucks, a camcorder, and an old version of Photoshop. Assuming they understood the texts of Islam as well as Nakoula clearly does, literally millions of Americans have the wherewithal to make something like "The Innocence of Muslims".

The whole point is to shut down Western freedom of speech about Islam.

And Obama appears willing to do so.
.......................................

Terrifying.

Three other diplomatic staff were murdered along with the ambassador. Why is Carney trying to minimize Muslim savagery? (This is, of course, a rhetorical question).

More:

Carney said that those protests were aimed exclusively at an offensive, anti-Muslim video and not at the United States or the administration of President Barack Obama.
.......................................

Even though Egyptian Muslims had been threatening to set the American embassy in Cairo on fire for weeks before the riots, and that this all happened on the anniversary of 9/11? This isn't even plausible.

Also, stop calling these "protests". The worst a protest results in is noise and blocked traffic. Once they are burning down embassies and murdering consular staff—and killing each other—it's an out and out riot by a mob.

More:

This is a fairly volatile situation, and it is in response not to U.S. policy, not to, obviously, the administration, not to the American people. It is in response to a video – a film – that we have judged to be reprehensive (sic) and disgusting.
.......................................

What makes this film "reprehensive"? While it is very poorly made, all of its references come *directly from the texts of Islam*. the only difference is that the film doesn't portray raping 9-year-old girls and murdering old women who criticize slaving as praiseworthy.

Oh, and it has the temerity to portray the "Prophet". Is this "blasphemy" in the United States, now?

If Jay Carney isn't a fool, then no one is. The man (if you can call him that) is beyond pathetic.

Jay Carney is a babbling idiot.
