It's as if an insane, wilful blindness has infected the West. Send a gay man as our ambassador to Libya, after all we've done and spent, surely they'll respect our values?

In a parallel from a time when our understanding of the ways of intractible Islam were uninfected by this blind culturally flattening relativity our wishful thinkers want to project, Britain's representative in Khartoum, General Charles Gordon was assassinated.

Prime Minister, Henry John Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston despatched a force under Field Marshal Horatio Herbert Kitchener in his gunboats up the Nile and retaliation was swift, ruthless and deadly. As a result, Sudan remained passive for well over half a century.

Modern politicians will sneer at this example of colonising brute force and the useful idiots will titter into their skinny latte's but the US representative of American interests in Libya has just been tortured, sodomised, murdered and his body dragged through the streets and all Hillary can do is blame some Coptic nerds who made a bad soap opera.

We are living in what I can only describe as an age of mirror of blame.

Despite all overwhelming evidence, it's never them or Islam. It has to be us and no matter how idiotic or mild the 'offense' the resultant orgy of violence and destruction is quite justified.

When does it end?

Gen. McAuliffe at Bastogne, WWII, when demanded by the Germans to surrender replied, "Nuts."

When Chesty Puller was informed by G2 that the Marines were surrounded by six Chinese divisions, at the Chosen Reservoir, temperatures minus 20 degrees, Puller replied, "Good, now they can't get away."
