This is what you can expect from journalists nowadays because journalism went from the traditional approach of asking those five key questions---who, what, when, where and why---to assuming journalism is about changing the world (talk about thinly disguised narcissism).

Just as the modern colleges of education as well as law schools are a waste of time (I write from experience respecting both here as I have been accredited to teach in public schools and I am a lawyer and thus I can assure everyone that colleges of education and law schools are almost entirely worthless), so are the schools of journalism nothing more than propaganda institutions serving no good purpose and certainly not the truth. The state of the Western media today is so pathetic, so stupid, so objectionable across the board, that words fail me most times to describe just how far real journalism has descended into a caricature of itself.

The religion of peace and tolerance threatens, "The next war (on Israel) will be a war of extinction" (Islamic republic of Iran).
Someone once asked an elderly Holocaust survivor, “What was the important lesson you have learned from the Holocaust?” The old man paused and weakly, barely audibly, said, "If someone threatens you, believe him."
And I have been wondering about the day after. Will the United States establish Holocaust Museum number 2, as in the Hollywood style of sequels? Will someone establish an institution like the institute of Shimon Wiesenthal for persecution of Holocaust criminals? Will schools all around the world send students to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv to march in silence and place flowers in the remains of Rabin Square in remembrance of the Holocaust victims? Will people write books full of Holocaust number 2 denials? Will hypocritical countries shed crocodile tears and say, "we're so sorry and shocked" without meaning a word? Will they scratch their heads, thinking how they could have prevented the extinction of the Jewish people, out of fear they are next in line? Will self-hating Jewish Lefties of future generations in the United States, like Dr. Norman Finkelstein, Professor Noam Chomsky, and Rabbi Lerner, say that the Holocaust was not as bad as the Jews say it was and that they only want to collect profits from the Holocaust number 2 industry? And I, just like this old Holocaust survivor and just like my father, who had lost his entire family to the first Holocaust and who had barely survived only to die of a broken heart at the of age 52, also feel that when someone threatens my existence, I believe him.

I will be thankful and appreciative if you could publish and spread these words and message wherever you can.

I'm coming in late, here, but since the topic of journalism has been raised, for the benefit of anyone somewhat younger, who will not know their names, and who may google their way in here in future, I will mention two American journalists who were truly worthy of the name.

They had both courage and integrity.

One is John Roy Carlson (note: this was a pseudonym adopted for protection during 'undercover' work which exposed Nazi sympathisers and, later, Communist plotters; and when he did some seriously dangerous observing-and-recording in the Middle East in 1947-48; he was in fact of Armenian Christian descent). He wrote three books that are must-reads: 'Under Cover', on Nazi networks in the USA prior to the US entry into WWII; 'Cairo to Damascus' (1951); and 'The Plotters' (on communist networks and sympathizers).

'Cairo to Damascus' is a classic. And eerily prescient. Posing as an American Islamophile and as someone who had supported Fascism, Carlson managed to infiltrate jihadist circles in Egypt, and observed the Arab Muslim jihad against nascent Israel. He even managed - in Cairo - to score an interview with Hassan al-Banna, one of the main gang bosses of the Ikhwan, the Muslim Brotherhood. He devotes a whole chapter to the Brotherhood; a chapter which, if Americans had taken it seriously - remember, his book was published in **1951** - might have averted much grief. That chapter is totally relevant today, as fresh as when it was first published. See Chapter IV - 'The Moslem (Black) Brotherhood' and Chapter VI, 'World of the Koran: Islam Ueber Alles'.

It may even be readable online, these days (I haven't looked, because I own a paper copy).

And then there is Martha Gellhorn.

Her definitive article appeared in the Atlantic Monthly in 1961: "The Arabs of Palestine".

She went to Jordan, Israel, Gaza and Lebanon, interviewing - with a firm grip on her commonsense - the 'Palestinian' Arab refugees, mostly Muslim. In so doing, she had to coin the term 'madhattery', which she invented in order to describe the sheer mind-bending nonsense to which she was so often treated by her Arab Mohammedan interviewees.

Martha Gellhorn continued to report on matters middle eastern; it may be worthwhile tracking down what she wrote about the aftermath of the Six Day War in 1967, for example.

I found this in a biography of Gellhorn - 'Martha Gellhorn: A Life' - written by one Caroline Moorehead who simply cannot comprehend Gellhorn's clearheaded refusal to espouse and promote the cause of the Pooooor 'Palestinians' (tm) and accuses her of racism, propagandising, etc. - all because she insisted on continuing to report accurately on the jihad against the Jews whilst most western journalists were obediently parroting the Arab Narrative.

From that biography:

'In 1967…Martha returned to Israel…She arrived as the Six Day War against Egypt, Jordan and Syria was ending. The Arab forces were broken and the Israelis were now in possession of the Golan Heights, the western bank of the Jordan River, the town of Kuneitra and a strip of Syria, having crossed the Sinai and reached the Suez canal. Martha stayed for just over a month and wrote articles for the Guardian, the Nation, Commonweal and American Vogue.' (Somebody! track those down! I think they would be well worth reading, today).

“Martha had good friends in the Israeli army, including Moshe Dayan, newly appointed Minister of Defence, who was a great admirer of James Gavin. Soon, she was given a car, driver and conducting officer to take her into the Sinai to see the remains of war.

‘They passed burned out tanks, guns, spent shells, lorries with blindfolded prisoners. “Fiercest smell on earth: human dead”, Martha wrote in her notebook, with her usual blend of work and personal observations. “Sorrow and disgust…There is no swank, no crowing. No Israelis are drunk, no looting, no raping of women…I know Israelis will not torture”…

She went on, “Atrocities: 7 Israeli pilots hung, 1 thrown to crowd, killed with spades, 2 pilots decapitated in Smyrna, heads shown on TV, girl teletypist, breasts cut off, etc. Made me sick.” The next day, she returned to the atrocities: ‘6 Arabs caught last night with hand grenades at the Wailing Wall. Got shot at once. Jews are too lenient – will do them no good…Least violent people anywhere”.

Gellhorn was a journalist worthy of the name.

Let any aspiring journalism student track down, and read, the articles and/ or books of Carlson and Gellhorn and then tell themselves: *that* is what my profession should be.
