Robert Spencer in the Washington Times: America still the target of 9/11 jihad

Here is my piece that ran in the Washington Times yesterday about the state of the jihad resistance, eleven years after 9/11:

Eleven years have passed since the jihad terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and terrorism appears to many to be yesterday’s issue. There hasn’t been a catastrophic jihad attack on American soil since that fateful day, and neither presidential campaign has done much more than pay lip service to national security issues regarding jihad terrorism. Yet there are numerous indications that the Islamic jihad against the United States is far from over.

President Obama’s response to that jihad, however, has been to support the Arab Spring uprisings that have installed Islamic supremacist pro-Shariah regimes in North Africa and to dedicate his Justice Department to gaining special accommodation for Muslims in American businesses and educational institutions.

Osama bin Laden said in his October 2002 letter to the American people that “the first thing that we are calling you to is Islam.” He could look with satisfaction at how Islamic law is rapidly becoming the sole law of the land in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia and at how the American political establishment is so warmly disposed toward even Islam’s political and supremacist elements that a call simply to investigate Muslim Brotherhood influence in the government met with scorn and charges of McCarthyism.

So pervasive is the unreality about the jihad threat, in fact, that the commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, Gen. John Allen, has attributed the rapid rise in attacks by Afghan troops on their American trainers to a lack of affection on the Americans’ part. He explained that on one occasion, “one of our battalion commanders publicly and openly hugged his Afghan battalion counterpart. And that solved the problem right on the spot.”

In fact, these “green-on-blue” murders keep happening because there is no reliable way to distinguish an Afghan Muslim who supports American troops from one who wants to murder them, and political correctness prevents authorities from making any attempt to do so anyway because it would suggest that Islam is not a religion of peace. So ever more U.S. troops are sacrificed to this madness.

Meanwhile, Mr. Obama has just expressed his enthusiasm for Egypt’s new Muslim Brotherhood regime by forgiving $1 billion in Egyptian debt despite the fact that that regime has moved with startling rapidity to dismantle what there was of Egyptian democracy and secure its place in power for decades to come. Egypt’s Arab Spring has ushered into power a regime that clearly is dedicated to ramping up the country’s already virulent persecution of Christians, imposing principles of Islamic law that will subject women and non-Muslims to institutionalized discrimination and setting Egypt on a path toward open war with Israel.

Mr. Obama is set to repeat the same mistake in Syria, where a post-Assad government is almost certain to contain significant Muslim Brotherhood elements. Yet numerous analysts and pundits want the United States to rush into military action against President Bashar Assad, with no consideration of the likely nature of the regime that would replace him. Mr. Assad is terrible, to be sure. His successors are almost certain to be worse....

There is more.

In the same way that I get tired of hearing about Muslim atrocities, I'm also depressingly tired of hearing about Obama blunders. I realize that we won't get rid of the Islamic menace so soon, but hopefully we will be rid of Obama in a few months time. Why is the President writing off a $1 billion dollar Egyptian debt with the state the U.S. economy is in? I'm really, really fed up with this man!

Lets all keep in mind that we need not live in fear or be afraid to go places because on any jihadist threats. They [the Islamists]would be glad if we lived in fear. Nevertheless, all should keep a balance a stay aware of our suroundings an be on the lookout for anything that seem to to appear just right. Then let the right people know about it, just in case. As Thomas Jeffersom wrote "Let the eye od vigilance never be closed.

Let me take this opportunity to recommend this excellent 44 minute presentation by Bill Warner on Islam:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_Qpy0mXg8Y&feature=player_embedded

Excellent article!

Again I recommend 'In the garden of the Beasts' by Erik Larson. Deja Vu.

Just saw the video of Dr. Bill Warner. Excellent.

To label Hasan's murders as "workplace violence" is really preposterous. Sounds like "workplace accident", maybe it was involuntary manslaughter or bodily harm with fatal consequences, anyway Hasan is innocent and it's got nothing to do with the religion of peace(TM).

It's not only America but the whole civilised world that is in danger. In Italy they dub the mafia "il pulpo" which means the kraken. Islam is worse than any kraken can be. The mafia is a bunch of choir boys compared to observant Mahoundians.

This is a fine piece. I hope Mr. Spencer will be just as critical of President Romney when he capitulates in the face of immoral Islamic demands, violence and threats of violence -- if Romney prevails this November. I am one who believes "our side" should be held to a higher standard than the left, which may be beyond repair.

In recent times there has been a lot of "right wing" media on the Obama admin's ignorance of the true nature of Islam.

Get real, nobody could be that ignorant. It is a conscious effort by him and those he has around him to firmly install and encourage Islamic elements as they can while they can.

Should Obama slither into a second term, the civilised world will witness a far more radical, and unashamedly overt escalation of this approach. As Reagan said, "You ain't seen nothing yet."

Another fine article by our blog host.

@Wildjew: Part of me likes the idea of "our side" being held to a higher standard, perhaps because both of us have read the Tanakh with at least a modicum of reverence. However, maybe part of our problem is that we've really been too nice with the opposition. McCain and his handlers should never have let the MSM get away with deflecting attentions from the 屙's (Hakka pronunciation rather than Mandarin) Communist, Black racist, and New Left terrorist mentors; and keep on raising the question why our supposedly "most brilliant President ever" keeps his academic record a better-kept secret that almost anything filed in the bowels of the State Department, Department of Defense, or CIA. We need to hammer away at the ballooning of the deficit, serious cuts to the First Amendment, and frequent aid and comfort to our sworn enemies.

@David. I have also come to the unhappy conclusion that the 屙 (Hakka pronunciation rather than Mandarin) represents something more sinister than bumbling in American politics.

Romney is naive and ignorant about Islam. Obama is an America-hating civilisation-hating white-hating Socialist that grew up with Islam and has clear Islamic sympathies.

The question should not be 'which is better for the civilised world,' but 'which would do less harm to the civilised world.'

Robert Spencer in the Washington Times: America still the target of 9/11 jihad
...........................................

We are, indeed—really, it has never stopped.

And yet, it has to be said. Bravo, Mr. Spencer, and the Washington Times for publishing your piece.

Kepha, here is what one Israeli, Jason, wrote (below) about Obama on a YNet opinion piece yesterday. Would that American Jews see things as clearly. My point is that when we give "our side" or our guy a pass (even if as David says, he is naive and ignorant about Islam), we leave an opening for evil. Remember God's warning to Cain: “If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.”

We conservatives did not do well during the Bush years. In fact we behaved terribly. That is how Obama (sin) got a foot in the door. Conservatives did not hold Bush to any kind of a moral or ethical standard. We listened to his lies about Islam and Israel for seven plus years post 9/11; SILENCE. We watched Bush pressure Israel to establish a jihad state, the same kind of State Romney muscled into our party platform a couple of weeks back. Thus we have (as Jason says here) a "Moslem" in the White House. Why not? Since as Bush repeatedly said, its 'teachings are good and peaceful, and those who commit evil in the name of Allah blaspheme the name of Allah....'

Talkback #15. b.o. is the jihadist in the White House.

He has done more damage to the U.S. than an invasion of a million man terrorist army. The U.S. is weakened and there is a moslim sitting in the Oval office. All his records have been sealed and no one can force them to be opened. No one knows anything about him. If all his files were opened, then he would be tried for treason. The same for those that helped him.
He is backed by people that hate the American way and would do anything to destroy both the U.S. and Israel.
Any "jew" that supports or votes for him is no less guilty. But guilty of treason to the Jewish people.
jason white , afula,israel (09.08.12)

David, Romney is also "naive and ignorant" about the Palestinian killers; the very same peoples Gingrich called "terrorists" who are dedicated to Israel's destruction in a debate with Romney. Romney rebuked Gingrich:

Speaker Newt Gingrich: 22:04:50:00 Somebody oughta have the courage to tell the truth: These people are terrorists.

Romney: 22:08:29:00 And I'm president of the United States, I will exercise sobriety, care, stability. And make sure that in a setting like this, anything I say that can affect a place with-- with rockets going in, with people dying, I don't do anything that would harm that-- that ("peace"?) process.

GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY: 22:08:47:00 And therefore, before I made a statement of that nature, I'd get on the phone to my friend Bibi Netanyahu and say, "Would it help if I said this? What would you like me to do? Let's work together, because we're partners." I'm not a bomb thrower, rhetorically or literally.

Mitt Romney is so naive and ignorant, both he and his surrogate Senator Jim Talent, took the side of these vile peoples in our national party platform a couple of weeks back. The Democrats left God out of their platform. Romney left common sense out of ours.

This article and remarks are a wealth of information.

It seems the facts would point to treason. Why hasn't this already happened? If the Republicans are really serious about allegiance to the United States why haven't they done something?

The consequences for not doing so seems overwhelming. It appears to me that Islam already has a sizeable say in our nations soverncey and future. How is that not a breach of security? Once again keeping in mind that treason is diffind as: Treason:
1. the offense of acting to overthrow one's government or to harm or kill its sovereignty.
2. a violation of allegiance to one's sovereignty or to one's state.
3. the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.

How many times have we heard Muslims say their intent to blow themselves up and becoming a martyr? And our administaration does nothing. How is that not conspiricey?

At this rate the United States has no need for Homeland Security, border security, FBI, CIA, or a military.

Lets save the blood shed and open our borders and give everyone free welfare and benefits until the money runs out.....

Really, the Islamic world has been at it since the Seventh Century, CE. The first spate in the west ran wild until the Battle of Tours, thanks to Charles "The Hammer" Martel and his Franks. "Franks" has been a bad word with them ever since.
Then, they thrust east until the East Indies had been included in their world along with India. While we were colonizing the New World, the Turks tried to take over Europe until they were halted in an area once known as the Holy Roman Empire. The Second World War and its aftermath gave them the next big opportunity.

This campaign looks like it has a roughly ten year cycle, give or take a little, so in 1978 Iran was taken over with problems that weren't solved until Jan 1981. Black Hawk Down was recognized as Al Caida until later early in Clinton's first term and the World Center bombing was also mid-identified at the time. Then, there was an apparent lull until late in Clinton's second term. What was really happening was six years of careful preparation followed by the first attempt with airliners from Manila that looked a lot like the second ten plane gambit with the liquid bombs after 9-11. While 9-11 could be considered a peak, there were about six events before and another six after that. Then, there was another lull. It looks like that lull is coming to an end. This time, it is the so-called Arab Spring which has changed most of North Africa with Syria now in play. Don't know if Major Hassan is part of it but recently there have been a number of trainee assaults on US-NATO forces in Afghanistan. The timing suggests we are due for another try to stage a Major Event.

You wrote - "This campaign looks like it has a roughly ten year cycle, give or take a little...".

Ever heard about 'hudna' and the 'Treaty of Hudaybiyya'?

No Muslim 'peace' or 'truce' or 'timeout' vis a vis the infidels, is supposed to last longer than ten years.
