U.S. Embassy in Cairo condemns murderous Muslim rages "religious incitement

USEmbassyCairo.jpg

Instead of condemning the murder and mayhem designed to intimidate Americans into not speaking freely about jihad and Islam, the U.S. Embassy freely abdicates its responsibility to stand for the freedom of speech. In reality, the only ones responsible for jihad rage and murder are the jihadists. If you hit me or call me a name, my reaction is up to me. There is no automatic, default-mode reaction to which I am bound. If Muslims in Egypt and Libya were insulted by this film (although it appears that they found it while looking for something to get insulted about), their reaction was up to them. It was not incited by the film. They could have laughed it off, or wept, or dismissed it with contempt, or prepared a rebuttal, or any number of other things. Instead, they rioted and killed. Those who did so are the only ones responsible for that. No one else.

But the U.S. Embassy, following Obama and Clinton, says it's all out fault:

U.S. Embassy Condemns Religious Incitement September 11, 2012

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others

No period at the end. Apparently they're as careful about proofreading as they are about the Constitution.

Sounds good, lasts a long time, does nothing...but put kuffar. and some Mahoundians, everywhere at additional risk...

When was protecting someones feeling worth more than human life? The Mahoundians are not the only ones demented and living in an alternate reality...

Maybe they were about to add a period when they were interrupted by someone breaching the walls

Since it is now condemnable to (ab)use my power of free speech, but ok to indulge in murderous outrage; I must protest at this outrageous situation in the strongest terms; in fact I have a little list...of those who never would be missed.

I'm outraged! The perfect excuse for murder!

This administration needs to appoint thousands of language police to patrol the streets and homes and bars, listening for words to condemn, with on-the-spot-fines for verboten locutions.

Muslims:"U.S jump?"
U.S: "How high?"

Well things are heating up aren't they, another victim sacrificed to the bloodthirsty moon god Allah, & the American officials blaming & attacking free speech over the violence. Here in Australia Muslim terror plotters arrested in Melbourne.

I wonder if life is ever so psychologically simple. For example, there are certain things my partner says to me which make me respond in ways I don't like. But, in the short-term, I seem to have a limited ability to modify my unliked responses - although, with effort and reflection, my responses over the longer term have changed.

So whilst I'm not at all saying that Muslims are without any choice, speaking pragmatically it seems pretty clear that the reaction in the Muslim world to Pastor Jones burning the koran was as entirely predictable as it was unpleasant. Thus, whilst it would be crazy to argue that the Pastor was entirely responsible for the deaths the followed his koran burning, neither would I exempt him from any responsibility by arguing that Muslims had a choice as to how they responded. That just seems too psychologically and culturally naive.

That said, I don't pretend to have a fully worked out position on this!

The megalomanic Islamic gorilla swings his vicious fists and how does the American Gouvernment, leader of the free West, respond to this behaviour? Their reaction is that of the fawning, two fingered little dick monkey, thereby acknowledging the gorilla's criminal claims and psychotic behavior.

Boortz is one the radio gushing over a Muslim caller. The guy said the maker of the film "instigated" the violence and didn't get called on it.

Ironic since Boortz made out pretty well exercising his freedom of speech over the years.

List of alternative ways the Muslims could have protested:

1. Mass prayer meeting protests - it's summer - they could have had tens of thousands of people at each prayer meeting held outside. Mullahs and Imams could have verbally condemned the film and explained why it's offensive to Muslims.

2. Mass letter writing campaign.

3. They could have created their own film showing positive aspects of Islam.

4. Held TV debates between believers and non-believers so the Muslims could get both sides of the story.

There are probably dozens more ways they could have protested the film. The primary issue that most Americans don't get is that violence is the ONLY way Muslims have had for the past 1400 years.

We need a constitutional amendment recognizing Islam is not a religion protected under the 1st but an ideology in the same category as Stalinism and Nazisim, which has as its sole purpose conquest and oppression. All mosques would be bulldozed and all Muslims expelled from the US. The alternative is to accept the destruction of the USA.

you are missing the point here. muslims are entirly responsebile for their actions and this Jones guy does not bare any responsibilities at all. the whole point of being here is free speech. I am no fan of burning the koran, Torah or the bible, but if someone wants to do it he/she has every right to do so. muslims do not have an understanding of free speech and to top it off Islam does not recognize democracy and free speech. so muslims are entirly to blame and I was one of them and I know how they think.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Pastor Jones would surely have known that burning a koran in a blaze of publicity would certainly or very likely lead to rioting and killing in the Muslim world. If he did know that this would (very likely) be the reaction, I find it difficult to see how he bears no responsibility for that reaction.

The time for an all-out war with the enemy is on the brink. Islam is at war with non-muslims everywhere.

Sadly, the U.S. is overrun with Muslims, like every other country. "Armies of one" could bring this nation to its knees in 5 minutes. People fear Islam, and have been taught to avoid any activity or syllable that inflames the barabaric parasites who adhere to it.

It's coming people. Rasool Obama will do anything to cling to the presidency. Americans need to arm themselves with knowledge and weapons.

Rush Limbaugh on now with a brilliant dissection of how the attacks were planned and had nothing to do with the works of either Bacile or Jones.

"If Muslims in Egypt and Libya were insulted by this film.."

They ought to be much more insulted by their prophet's behaviour:

Boo-fucking-hoo. There's only one safe thing to do with savages.

So, do I hear you saying that we should surrender our right of free speech if that right "offends" people from other countries and cultures? You know, those cultures who attack our homeland and murder our diplomats, for instance? Are you saying that their "feelings" are more important than our rights? They're no doubt "offended" by lots of our rights and freedoms; how many more of those do you think we should abandon for the sake of muslims' tender "feelings?"

We have a dead ambassador here--murdered by muslims--and you think Terry Jones is responsible? Hey, if you want to buy-in to the tired islamic narrative that the victims of their savagery are the real guilty ones, have at it. No sale on that perverse logic here, sorry...

"Thus, whilst it would be crazy to argue that the Pastor was entirely responsible for the deaths the followed his koran burning, neither would I exempt him from any responsibility by arguing that Muslims had a choice as to how they responded. That just seems too psychologically and culturally naive."

But Muslims DO have a choice as to how they respond. There is an American religious cult that pickets the funerals of U.S. military personnel with calls that their deaths are just punishment for societal toleration of homosexuality. You can be sure that some attendees of these funerals would have liked to see harm come to these cultists, but no one has yet acted on such impulses. Allowing a double standard for Muslims continues and validates their actions. A double standard is evil.

"Pastor Jones would surely have known that burning a koran in a blaze of publicity would certainly or very likely lead to rioting and killing in the Muslim world. If he did know that this would (very likely) be the reaction, I find it difficult to see how he bears no responsibility for that reaction."

If he does bear any responsibility it should be between him and God. Your reasoning could also be applied to JihadWatch - and it has by many Muslim apologists and others who wish to see freedoms curtailed. Democracy cannot function if threats can shut down free speech. That is a practical truth that trumps any moralistic ideals.

Your motives may be innocent, but you echo arguments made by people who are not innocent.

I rather doubt that any sane adult thinks of Obama's State Dept. as representing the US or American interests in any meaningful sense.

so what? are you a liebral, a troll or are genuin? if you are genuin, you are then naive and ill informed to say the least. so if the Nazi protest here in NYC, does that give the orthodox jews in Brooklyn to come and murdere the Nazis? if KKK was assembling in Harlem does this give the blacks the right to go an kill the KKK. KKK and Nazi are vile, but they have every right to peacefull assembly and need to be protected. period. how the westboro baptist churc people? they go around to the funeral of slained solders and shout thank god for a dead solders! because they blame the gays. so the people at the funeral should go and kill them? my own son is a marine. so god forbid if they come to my son's funeral do I go and get an AK47 and shoot them? let's get real here. fuck the muslims and their prophet. if they want to make a movie about him they have every right to do so. but you know what is the point here? the movie is telling the truth and muslims can not take it.
M

These riots are not spontaneous, they are planed, and they are intended to destroy freedom of speech and advance the cause of Islam.

It is the surrender to this barbaric behavior that leads to more of it.

You are responsible not pastor Jones

You have blood on your hands.

So, do I hear you saying that we should surrender our right of free speech if that right "offends" people from other countries and cultures?

Absolutely not.

Are you saying that their "feelings" are more important than our rights?

Absolutely not.

I don't think any of us can straightforwardly always choose the way we react. For example, in certain situations, my anger does not feel like a choice. However, let's, for simplicity, grant that Muslims are completely free to choose their reactions.

If Pastor Jones knew that Muslims would (very likely) choose to react to his koran burning by rioting and killing, then he is in part causally responsible for the rioting and killing. His partial causal responsibility is a straightforward fact. However, is he in part also morally responsible? It seems to me that it's difficult to argue he isn't.

None of this is to say that the rioting and killing by Muslims was anything other than utterly repugnant. None of this is to say that they didn't bear considerable responsibility for the rioting and killing. None of this is to say that Muslims had a right to riot and murder.

It's simply to suggest that if you know that a (very likely) consequence of your action will be highly negative actions by others and you choose to commit that act, you cannot exempt yourself from some moral responsibility for that consequence.

Am surprised by a few things:

- ashamed and surprised, by our state department's attack on the principle of free speech. Free speech defines much of how we think about and shape our society and laws. More importantly, that this was done to defend people who are busy desecrating our flag. The state department might as well have just gone around burning our flag - not very different.

- the significant preponderance of Americans on online forums today, who think that the film -producer is at fault, with many going so far as to say, that he should be arrested for criminal negligence (or worse). First amendment does not mean much for many of us it would seem - can easily be sacrificed to the altar of political correctness.

- the lack of understanding amongst even well informed Americans about the "sense of entitlement" inherent amongst Muslims. You give an inch and they want a mile. So, lets say, we given in and punish Americans for criticizing Islam, as Muslims want. What next? A ban on proselytizing is next, as many Muslims have been asking for (attacks in Dearborn have already happened). Going easy on Muslim rapists (and women bashers) due to "differences in culture" is coming (has come up in a court case in Australia for a Pakistani gang rape). Sharia in the US on non-Muslims is going to creep in. Marseille, Bradford and Malmo already have it to an extent. Where does this stop?

As an aside, do a google and see if you can find "Buddha underwear" or "Buddha shoes" of various kinds - wonder how many people have Buddhists have killed for this disrespect to their religious symbols?

If the answer is none, then the question has to be asked, why are we Americans so eager to play by the special rules that Muslims set for us.

If KKK was assembling in Harlem does this give the blacks the right to go an kill the KKK.

Of course not. But nothing I posted earlier in any way suggested that Muslims do have a right to riot and kill. (Clearly they don't.) My post wasn't making an argument about rights.

"If he did know that this would (very likely) be the reaction, I find it difficult to see how he bears no responsibility for that reaction."

Pastor Jones only bears pragmatic responsibility, not ethical responsibility. The ethical responsibility for any hatred or violence perpetrated by Muslims is solely and appropriately the burden of the Muslims themselves, and all Western idiots who continue to refrain from condemning all Muslims for enabling Islam.

"If Pastor Jones knew that Muslims would (very likely) choose to react to his koran burning by rioting and killing, then he is in part causally responsible for the rioting and killing. His partial causal responsibility is a straightforward fact. However, is he in part also morally responsible? It seems to me that it's difficult to argue he isn't."

As I alluded to in my earlier reply to you, I have two difficulties with your argument.

First, I fail to see how any moral responsibility incurred by the burning of a Quran should translate into any duty by government to prevent the riotous outcomes of such burning via any legal curtailment of free speech.

Second, given the unassailable fact of Islamic jihad against the non-Islamic (and heterodox Islamic) world, I fail to see how any moral responsibility incurred by the burning of a Quran should translate into any duty by society - non-governmental agencies - to censure such free speech. Such censure once begun would then be applied to all topics Islamic, and this would constitute aiding and abetting the enemy.

You can cry "moral responsibility" all you like, but given these facts I must conclude that the assignment of "moral responsibility" to non-Muslims for Muslim atrocities is irrelevant, despite whatever small truth it may contain.

First, I fail to see how any moral responsibility incurred by the burning of a Quran should translate into any duty by government to prevent the riotous outcomes of such burning via any legal curtailment of free speech.

I agree.

Again, I agree.

And, yet, at the same time, I hold that Pastor Jones' choice to exercise his freedom of expression was a very poor one.

We should not allow ourselves to be intimidated by the enemy but, there again neither should we needlessly provoke them. Where the boundary lies between legitimate actions that nevertheless provoke and actions that needlessly provoke is perhaps not always easy to discern.

"And, yet, at the same time, I hold that Pastor Jones' choice to exercise his freedom of expression was a very poor one."

if you agree with me so much, then I must conclude that you are auditioning to become Pastor Jones' pastor. I see no other valid reason for you to be making your argument.

I am ashamed and disgusted with this OBAMA adm. The whole apology thing to these murderers is beyond disgusting. Our fellow citizens are being murdered all over and we are apologizing? SICK.

Looks like the Cairo staff needs a bit of what happened to their counterparts in Libya.

So, what you're really saying is that I'm responsible for my neighbor's conduct, right? And, if I say something that he doesn't like or agree with...then it's my fault if he gets violent--with me or anyone else? What if what I said was the truth--does that matter? And, what if he disagrees and gets violent about EVERYTHING I say? So, now I can't say ANYTHING, can I? Because he has a gun to my head. "Do what I say, don't piss me off, or I'll _______" fill in the blank. Now he's controlling me, isn't he? Isn't that how gangs take over neighborhoods?

What you're talking about here is surrender to violent bullies, nothing less. And if the violent bullies are extremely sensitive to any questioning or criticism of their beliefs and behavior? I have to tiptoe around them, mollify them, make excuses for them, cower in their presence, etc, right?

I say WRONG! That's no way to live! Our rights and freedoms, individually and societally, are not negotiable. Let me put this another way: We'll make any fucking movie we want to make, within OUR laws, no one else's, period. Anyone who doesn't like it...tough shit for them! Violent response? Their psychopathy, their choice, not ours. I may be my brother's keeper, but I am NOT the keeper of murderous savages...

we should needlessly rpovoke...
again you are doing the excuses for the jihadists. look we paid for the freedom we paid and we paid a lot. my own son served a year in Afghanistan for a lousy $1800 a month he put his life to protect our freedom and he is doing it now as we speak. so we should not make cartoons of muhamd so muslims will not riot, we should not say nuhamd was a pedophile so muslims will not riot, we should not tell the truth so muslims will not riot and so on... this is calledd stealth jihad. we silence ourselves so a binch f...ing savages will not be rioting this is all I can read in your post. before you know it in this age of internet we should not produce gay porn because it upsets muslim, before you know it, one can not open a liquir store accross from a mosque in NYC so muslims will not riot, before you know we can should not advertise in muslim neigborhood so they will not riot, befor you know we should not condem their duplicitiy so they will not riot. look dude, I was born and raise a muslim. I know so much about this evil idealogy that is not even funny. muslim mentality is as soon as you give in they want nmore and they precive you as week. islamic mentality is the same mentality as the mafia. THREATS. MURDERS. INTIMIDATION. KILLINGS. we need to confron them with all our might and hold them responsible for thier own actions and those of us whor practising our freedom to speak. this how facisim takes root. they silence you a little at a time until you shut the f...up and follow thier agends. it is that simple.
M

"U.S. Embassy in Cairo condemns murderous Muslim rages "religious incitement

I pointed this out in your post "Today in New York: SION's World Freedom Congress to combat the war against free speech"

No one noticed. People like lemonslime were too busy noticing who were the "johnny come lately's" and hence not eligible to voice an opinion.

Here is another one for you Robert Spencer, the BBC, and other major MSM sites no doubt, have published pictures of "US film protests". That is what is important.

Not one has published pictures of the Ambassador being done to death as here:

http://www.ksfo.com/Article.asp?id=2531507&spid=40489

"... We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse(?) the universal right of free speech to hurt (i.e. quoting the Quran) the religious beliefs of others"

Pamela Geller "Why can't we say negative things about Islam?

…free speech protects ALL speech, Michael, ALL SPEECH. Not just the ideas what we like. Because that’s easy. I mean the ideas that we don’t like … who decides, what’s good & what’s forbidden? The CIAR? The government? The OIC? This is a very dangerous territory.

…And as long as my ideas are heard, I believe the truth will out. The bottomline is: THERE IS A WAR ON THE TRUTH”

http://schnellmann.org/hr-resolution-16-18-criminalisation-of-criticism-of-islam.html

The U.S. Embassy employees in Cairo need to be reminded of their oaths of federal office.

Foreign Service Officer's Oath

"I [Foreign Service Officer], do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

Freedom of Speech is enshrined as an individual liberty in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It is a right, not a responsibility, and one has a right to be "misguided" in its application, irrespective of who is offended, insulted, etc.

Assholes who don't have any concept of freedom should be provoked and then dealt with accordingly for not being civilized. Wonder if you'll get this. Probably not.

In the US there is something called a "hecklers veto" which says you cannot restrict someones free speech because of a reacting party's behavior. It's irrelevent whether Muslims are upset by cartoons, films or a woman without a hijab on her head. That's their problem, it has no bearing on what Terry Jones or anyone else in America does with their privately owned Korans.Or their Constitutionally protected free speech. The Koran that was burned was private property which can be disposed of in any way the owner see's fit.We also have private property rights under the US Constitution. If Muslims act like irrational animals over a burned book that is their responsibilty not Terry Jones. The fact that they would kill over films, cartoons, or korans only proves what Terry Jones said.

They condemn religious incitement. But incitement by whome?

I posted this comment in other posts but but think it's relevant here too.

MR. Bacile doesn't exist. NPR found there are no records of a man by that name in California. No licenses, court documents, property or phones.

Israeli officials told them they have no records of him.

An associate told NPR and AP that the man he'd worked with wasn't Israeli or jewish-

BUT WAS MIDDLE EASTERN!

This is looking like a Richstag fire type hoax.
