Iran's Supremo: U.S., Israel "trying to turn the jihad against colonialism and Zionism into blind terrorism in the streets … so that Muslims shed each other’s blood"

Here is another report on Khamenei's remarks Thursday. Note how the AP report, which I posted about here, omits all mention of his remarks about jihad. Note also how Khamenei characterizes the Islamic war against Israel as "jihad," while Muslims fighting against each other is "terrorism." Islamic supremacist groups condemn "terrorism," but by it they do not mean violent actions by Muslims against Infidels -- that's not terrorism, it's jihad.

DUBAI — Iran’s most powerful authority, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on Thursday accused the United States and Israel of fomenting divisions among Muslims to undermine “Islamic uprisings” across the Middle East.
“By exploiting inattention … corrupt American, NATO and Zionist agents are trying to divert the deluge-like movement of Muslim youth and bring them into confrontation with one another in the name of Islam,” he said in an annual message to Iranians who have gone to Saudi Arabia for the haj pilgrimage.

“They are trying to turn the jihad against colonialism and Zionism into blind terrorism in the streets … so that Muslims shed each other’s blood.”

Officials in Shi’ite Muslim Iran often describe the “Arab Spring” uprisings as an “Islamic Awakening.”

Some of those uprisings have brought Islamists to power, while others, notably in Syria and Bahrain, have pitted Sunnis against Shi’ites or Alawites, members of an offshoot of Shi’ite Islam.

Iran has aligned itself with its regional ally Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Lebanon’s Shi’ite Hezbollah movement in what it calls an “axis of resistance” against Israel. At the same time it denies accusations from Sunni-ruled Gulf monarchies that it is encouraging Shi’ite uprisings in their countries.

“The aggressive and interventionist arrogant powers are making every effort to divert the course of these significant Islamic movements,” Khamenei said, according to Iranian state television, urging Muslims to show solidarity....

Muslims don't need an excuse to shed each others' blood, so Khameini is talking nonsense as usual (what Muslim cleric doesn't?. The biggest weakness that Islam has as a fighting force is Muslim-on-Muslim violence.
Khameini is trying to unite Sunni and Shia (temporarily of course) so that they can all fight against infidels together and usher in the era of the Mahdi. If Muslims unite they will become even more stronger and dangerous than ever. Once the infidel has been subdued then they can go back to fighting each other.
Muslims cannot be trusted by anyone, not even each other.

Hell, half the time when pious Muslims condemn "terrorism", not only are they not referring to Jihad terror, they are not even referring to Muslim-on-Muslim bloodletting, but to Israeli and American efforts to *defend* against Jihad.

The Iranians must feel pretty torn about those Islamic uprisings—on the one hand, they consider the rise of brutal Shai'ah states a good thing, and many are broadly following the model set by Iran itself back in 1979—on the other hand, one of these Islamic revolutions is poised to take out Tehran's man in Syria, Bashar Assad, and with him, their grip not only on that country but on neighboring Lebanon.

So, of course they're going to make a case for the Sunnis joining hands with the Shi'ites—at least for the purposes of killing Infidels—especially, the hated Jews.

Never mind that foolish NATO and the United States enabled the Islamic revolution in Libya by providing air cover, under the absurdly mistaken belief that rebels there were fighting for freedom.

Similarly, the US has even embraced the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, even though they have made it clear that they intend to impose Shari'ah there.

No matter how much support—or "tribute" in the form of foreign aid we give them—we are going to be the "Great Satan" to them.

An Islamist cage match rightfully should be limited to Islamists, where the civilized people (people who choose of their own free will to not be savages) are outside a protective wall. Geopolitically it can be part of a policy of containment. For TV and YouTube purposes it can be viewed as a zoo exhibit, something like Survivor -- Savages Gone Wild.

The audience will have to subdue any urge to be any more sympathetic than they would be to baboons or chimpanzees or wild dogs in some nature preserve -- which is what these 7th century savages demand anyway. Even in the 7th century they must have been viewed as trying to turn the clock back to some pre-civilized state, in harmony with nature. No one dares question whether a female chimp can say "No Means No!" -- because society agrees with me and my right to liberty.

Does he object to containment? Savagery must be contained. Will he abandon his savagery? Sleep in the bed of your own making, dude. Fall down a well for all I care. Some fool might think you'll pop out of it one day.

Did he see a wall of containment and have a freak out moment? What a pity.
