Libya: Ambassador Stevens warned in June that jihadists were "targeting the Christians surpervising the management of the consulate" and that "Islamic extremism" was rising

Reps. Darrell Issa (R-CA) and Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) have released State Dept documents that show Ambassador Christopher Stevens clearly expressed concerns about security months before his death.
The documents, 166 pages in total, contain a cable signed by Stevens and dated Aug 8. In that cable, Stevens wrote of how Benghazi had teetered from "trepidation to euphoria and back" through a "series of violent incidents." And he took pains to point out that the incidents were not spontaneous outbursts, but "organized" attacks.

Stevens put it this way: "What we have seen are not random crimes of opportunity, but rather targeted and discriminate attacks."

Another cable that bore Stevens' signature was dated Sept 11 -- the very day on which he was later killed. In this cable, Stevens expressed his concern about "growing frustration" in the Benghazi area and "growing problems with security" around the consulate.

Stevens explicitly mentioned the Libyan police and security forces that were guarding the U.S. consulate. He said those forces "were too weak" to keep the site secure.

These cables and the concerns expressed in them were nothing new. In late June, following attacks earlier that month, Stevens had written that the attackers "seemed to be targeting the Christians supervising the management of the consulate" and that "Islamic extremism appeared to be on the rise in eastern Libya."

In other words, months before the Sept 11 attacks took place, spontaneous uprisings were ruled out. The attack on Benghazi was "targeted and discriminate."

A message on the day of the attack - 'Stevens explicitly mentioned the Libyan police and security forces that were guarding the U.S. consulate. He said those forces "were too weak" to keep the site secure.'

He was foolish in lots of ways; but he wasn't *entirely* stupid or unobservant.

He picked up that *something* was up; that things were getting dangerous; but he was, it seems, ignored.

His death can be sheeted home not only to the jihadists who actually killed him, but to his superiors who seem to have refused to pay attention to his warnings, and refused to do anything much to make the embassy more secure.

does charelene lamb still have her deputy job? why do women like charlene lamb and shrillery, who have probably never taken a punch in their life, be in charge of making decisions for "protection", or lack thereof, for people in danger?

With the thermal imaging they have now the Obama Administration had detailed thermal footage as it was happening.

First, the attack on the U.S. embassy was an internationally-recognized act of war, no matter what the "provocation." Second, the video in question is actually a very low-budget portrayal of part of the sira (Mohammad's biography), not some off-the-wall ridicule of Mohammad. Third, it is enforcement of Shariah law to punish dhimmis (conquered non-Muslims) for any criticism/insult to Islam or Mohammad. Fourth, for the President to bow to Shariah law (as he bows to Islamic leaders) while we still have troops engaged in battle with factions of the global jihad (the Taliban and al Qaeda) is a traitorous action. We need to impeach President Obama for treason before he signs a dhimmitude contract with the Muslim world via the Muslim Brotherhood in the guise of a "peace" agreement. www.impeachpresidentobama.weebly.com

Last evening (Saturday) on FOX, former governor Mike Huckabee made some forthright observations regarding this subject. He didn't pull any punches either. The show will repeat Sunday.

Later, on the show with the former judge, "Justice with Jeanine," were two former CIA guys and a military man who discussed how those orgs work when serious incidents begin to happen as with Stevens and the other men. According to them, there is a "flash" of information and it goes out to "everyone."

It is not surprising that Christians were targeted by these killers.
