Modern, moderate, secular Turkey: Pianist goes on trial for offending Muslims and insulting Islam

This is the kind of law that Islamic supremacists want to bring West, and an increasing chorus of Western Leftists is joining them in the call to criminalize criticism of Islam. "Turkish pianist Fazil Say goes on trial accused of insulting Islam on Twitter," from the Associated Press, October 18 (thanks to all who sent this in):

ISTANBUL – A top Turkish pianist and composer appeared in court on Thursday to defend himself against charges of offending Muslims and insulting Islam in comments he made on Twitter.

Fazil Say, who has played with the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and others, is on trial for sending tweets that included one in April that joked about a call to prayer that lasted only 22 seconds.

Say tweeted: "Why such haste? Have you got a mistress waiting or a raki on the table?" Raki is a traditional alcoholic drink made with aniseed. Islam forbids alcohol and many Islamists consider the remarks unacceptable.

Prosecutors in June charged Say with inciting hatred and public enmity, and with insulting "religious values." He faces a maximum 18 months prison term, although any sentence is likely to be suspended.

Say, who has served as a cultural ambassador for the European Union, rejected the charges and demanded his acquittal, according to the state-run Anadolu Agency....

Say, 42, is a strong critic of the Islamic-rooted government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a devout Muslim who has preached conservative values, alarming some secular Turks who fear the government plans to make religion part of their lifestyle....

In a report on Turkey's progress toward membership issued last week, the EU criticized Turkey for "recurring infringements of the right to liberty and security and to a fair trial, as well as of the freedom of expression." It said restrictions on media freedoms and an increasing number of court cases against writers and journalists remained "serious issues."...

On Thursday, Egemen Bagis, the minister in charge of relations with the EU, suggested the case against Say should be dismissed saying the court should regard Say's tweets as being within "his right to babble." However, he criticized the pianist for "insulting people's faith and values."

The charges against Say also cite other tweets he sent, including one — based on a verse attributed to famous medieval poet and wine-lover Omar Khayyam — which questioned whether heaven was a tavern or a brothel, because of the promises that wine will flow and each believer will be greeted by virgins.

Say has since closed his Twitter account and has said he plans to leave Turkey for Japan. His lawyer said Say has received some death threats....

What a surprise.

"Why such haste? Have you got a mistress waiting or a raki on the table?"

No sir, he's got a demon ... farting!!!
http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2011/07/satanic-fart.html

This Islamic trial will have no effect on the West's political class and
its obliging role for Islamizing Turkey to get its 80 million Muslims
into the European Union, so as to speed up the Islamization of Europe.

Japan? It is Japan's turn to feel the heat. My Japanese lodger said her Pakistani classmate asked how how he could get a visa for Japan; he wants to move there to get away from the dangers in Pakistan - and of course, if successful, he will tell the Japanese how benign Islam is, and he and his Muslim friends in Japan will be followed by Saudi money and new mosques and watched to make sure they toe the line.
My lodger laughs. She doesn't think there is a problem; those Pakistani boys are "very nice".

This is what we can expect if the West bows to muslim demands for blasphemy laws ...

And those demands *have not* gone away. They're just waiting for a more propitious time to step up the demands again.

From the article - "Say has since closed his Twitter account and has said he plans to leave Turkey for Japan...".

I would advise him to apostasise, as soon as he steps onto Japanese soil.

Shuck off Islam and embrace Zen. Take up the shakuhachi.

And take ninja training, just in case any sharia assassins come sneaking around.

And memo to the Japanese: *demand* that he publicly renounce Islam, before you grant him that residency visa.

Looks like the Barnabas Fund booklets - 'What is Islam?', 'What is Sharia?', 'Islam and Truth' (contains the facts on taqiyya and other forms of Islamic deception) and 'Islam and Slavery' - need to be translated into Japanese.

We need 'Submission' and 'Fitna' not just subtitled but *dubbed* into Japanese.

And something that looks like it's badly needed, is a booklet aimed at Infidel women *everywhere*, on 'marriage jihad' (or just 'sex jihad') - how Muslim men and (sometimes) Muslim women use sex to gain 'reverts'. Who are then trapped in the cult.

Why not get a copy of 'Not Without My Daughter' and leave it strategically lying about? (The dvd of the film, plus the book). And Phyllis Chesler's "My Afghan Captivity".

And Rosemary Sookhdeo's books - 'Secrets Behind the Burqa' and 'Stepping into the Shadows'. There are a couple of hair-raising books by somebody called 'Cassandra', called '33 Secrets Arab Men Don't Tell American Women' (oughta be called '33 Secrets Muslim Men Don't Tell Non-Muslim Women' and 'Escape! from an Arab Marriage' (that is, from a *Muslim* marriage).

Looks like all of these books need to be officially or unofficially translated into Japanese...

Or have a look here and at New English Review and print off a few stories about the Pakistani Muslim rape/ pedophile sex gangs that have simply *proliferated* in the UK, preying on young - often underage - British non-Muslim girls. Again, just print off a few and leave them unostentatiously lying around where she can pick them up.

And there's Paul Sheehan's book, 'Girls Like You' which is about the *Pakistani* Muslim gang rapes of Aussie non-Muslim girls in Sydney in 2002. You could get *that* and leave it lying around where your lodger might find it and use it to practise her English reading skills... Review here.

http://newsweekly.com.au/article.php?id=3940

Just lately, in New English Review, we had a discussion of 'marriage jihad'.

Accessory without the fact

In the comments, you'll see a whole string of items that you could easily print off, leaflet style.

And,.. don't forget to pray for the poor silly child!

For all you know, some scummy Mohammedan fake 'prince charming' is busy 'grooming her'....and the moment he gets her into his power, he will morph into a hideous toad.

Thanks for the info, and I will use it, but as you can imagine, with me she gets a *serving* every day! Along with the good food...!...
"Oh, and did I tell you the news today...?" as I serve up some tasty meal.

Insulting islame? How do you like this:

Q Why is it so hard to circumcise a muslime?
A Because there's no end to those pricks.

There, choke on that you bunch of big babies!

Here's hoping you manage to wake her up - against the odds - and preserve her from being destroyed and enslaved by some smarmy Mohammedan creep waging 'marriage jihad'.

The Mohammedans are probably targeting these sweet, naive, pretty Japanese girls *precisely* because Japan has - as yet - a pretty small Mohammedan presence. The girl is their ticket in.

The only time i ever went to a mosque 'open day' here in Australia, one of the be-hijabbed females was...a young Japanese convert. Poor kid. Suckered into the Arab Death Cult.

"I would advise him to apostasise, as soon as he steps onto Japanese soil.

Shuck off Islam and embrace Zen. Take up the shakuhachi. "

Even fanatical mass-murderous supremacist 1930s Shintoism would be infinitely preferable to that excrement of the cosmos, Islam.

Modern, moderate, secular Turkey: Pianist goes on trial for offending Muslims and insulting Islam
................................

"Insulting Turkishness" was often a euphemism for "insulting Islam"—now, often, they just drop the mask on the Anatolian peninsula and go for the real thing. Somehow, I doubt we should see that as an improvement, since the cases are coming thicker and faster all the time.

And yet, all too many in the West still trot out Turkey as an example of a "secular" Muslim state. This, of course, is less true all the time under Erdogan.

More:

ISTANBUL – A top Turkish pianist and composer appeared in court on Thursday to defend himself against charges of offending Muslims and insulting Islam in comments he made on Twitter.
................................

Artists will be among the first to suffer from such "Blasphemy" laws—along with women and Infidels, of course.

More:

Fazil Say, who has played with the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and others, is on trial for sending tweets that included one in April that joked about a call to prayer that lasted only 22 seconds.
................................

Ah—he's actually an *accomplished* artist! He's got to go down...

More:

Say tweeted: "Why such haste? Have you got a mistress waiting or a raki on the table?" Raki is a traditional alcoholic drink made with aniseed. Islam forbids alcohol and many Islamists consider the remarks unacceptable.

Prosecutors in June charged Say with inciting hatred and public enmity, and with insulting "religious values." He faces a maximum 18 months prison term, although any sentence is likely to be suspended.
................................

Utter madness. From everything I have heard, large numbers of Turkish Muslims swill Raki on a regular basis. I guess it's just one of those many things in Islam where hypocrisy is preferable to speaking openly.

More:

Say, who has served as a cultural ambassador for the European Union...
................................

In other words, Turkey has not shied at using Fazil Say to show how modern and sophisticated Turkey is—but this is only a sham to lull the foolish European Kaffir into a false states of security.

After all, if he had tweeted the same thing in Berlin or Paris—perhaps substituting "brandy" for "raki"—who there would have batted an eye?

More:

Say, 42, is a strong critic of the Islamic-rooted government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a devout Muslim who has preached conservative values, alarming some secular Turks who fear the government plans to make religion part of their lifestyle....
................................

And they are already far down that road, as this persecution of Say proves. Erdogan has spent the last decade dismantling Kemalism.

More:

In a report on Turkey's progress toward membership issued last week, the EU criticized Turkey for "recurring infringements of the right to liberty and security and to a fair trial, as well as of the freedom of expression." It said restrictions on media freedoms and an increasing number of court cases against writers and journalists remained "serious issues."...
................................

And yet, the foolish EU has taken up the issue again, even though it had seemed settled that barbaric Turkey would *not* gain entry to civilized Europe. Why is the issue on the table again? It's not as though things have improved in Turkey—quite the opposite, in fact...

More:

The charges against Say also cite other tweets he sent, including one — based on a verse attributed to famous medieval poet and wine-lover Omar Khayyam — which questioned whether heaven was a tavern or a brothel, because of the promises that wine will flow and each believer will be greeted by virgins.
................................

Muslim apologists in the West often trot out Omar Khayyam—along with Rumi—as proof that Islam is really tolerant and open. Yet, is it possible that either poet could exist in any Islamic country today? Even if they lived in the West, they would probably be under a death Fatwa for their irreverent work.

More:

Say has since closed his Twitter account and has said he plans to leave Turkey for Japan. His lawyer said Say has received some death threats....

What a surprise.
................................

And will Say continue as an "ambassador" for Turkey in civilized Japan, despite his terrible experiences here? I wouldn't be surprised...
