Obama picks Salam al-Marayati, Islamic supremacist defender of Hamas and Hizballah, to represent US at human rights conference

What does Salam al-Marayati, who blamed Israel for 9/11 and defends the jihad terrorists Hamas and Hizballah, and is one of the most arrogant of Islamic supremacists in a field crowded with contenders, know about human rights?

"Criticism Mounts Over State Envoy," from the Washington Free Beacon, October 5 (thanks to Alger):

Jewish leaders expressed outrage Friday over the State Department’s praise for, and defense of, a controversial Muslim leader who has defended terrorist groups and suggested that Israel may have been responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Salam al-Marayati, founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), was picked to represent the United States government at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s (OSCE) annual 10-day human rights conference, the Human Dimension Implementation Meetings (HDIM).

Al-Marayati’s well-known anti-Israel bona fides prompted Jewish leaders and others to express outrage over the Obama administration’s selection.

“It is regrettable that someone with such distorted, conspiratorial views—even with a lackluster apology—is delegated by our government to represent our country abroad,” the Anti-Defamation League said in a statement to the Free Beacon.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, argued that the State Department is showing inconsistency by touting an individual who has defended the militant groups Hezbollah and Hamas, both of which are designated by the U.S. as terrorist organizations.

“One would assume that individuals selected to represent the United States at an international human rights conclave would share our government’s longstanding policy that Hamas and Hezbollah are dangerous terrorist organizations,” Cooper told the Free Beacon. “But Mr. Salam al-Marayati and his organization are long-time advocates that these deadly terror groups be removed from the U.S. terrorist list.”

“With terrorism continuing to roil the Middle East,” Cooper added, “the question is why the U.S. State Department would say he is ‘highly credible’?”

Josh Block, a former Clinton administration official who now serves as CEO of The Israel Project, said the State Department’s defense of al-Marayati lacks credibility.

“That statement, defending a person who is clearly a terrorist sympathizer and deeply hostile to Israel, calls into question the credibility of the person who gave it, and it raises a very serious question: What exactly is the U.S. government saying here?” Block asked.

“It is inexplicable and deeply concerning that a person who has suggested Israel was responsible for the 9/11 attacks and advocated for terrorist organizations including Hamas and Hezbollah, which has killed more Americans than any terrorist group except al Qaeda, would be described as ‘valued’ and ‘highly credible’ by our government,” Block said.

The State Department, however, defended al-Marayati’s participation, calling him “valued and highly credible.”

“Mr. al-Marayati has been involved in U.S. government initiatives for almost 10 years and has been a valued and highly credible interlocutor on issues affecting Muslim communities,” a spokesman for the U.S. Mission to the OSCE told the Free Beacon Thursday in a statement. “He was invited to participate in this year’s HDIM as a reflection of the wide diversity of backgrounds of the American people.”

Al-Marayati was criticized by pro-Israel leaders when he recommended that the U.S. “put the state of Israel on the [9/11] suspect list,” according to the New York Times.

“If we’re going to look at suspects, we should look to the groups that benefit the most from these kinds of incidents, and I think we should put the state of Israel on the suspect list because I think this diverts attention from what’s happening in the Palestinian territories so that they can go on with their aggression and occupation and apartheid policies,” al-Marayati told a radio host, according to the Times.

The U.S. Embassies in Poland and Brussels had commended al-Marayati’s participation in the human rights forum, according to statements on their respective websites.

MPAC, the organization al-Marayati helped create, has been condemned by Jewish groups for promoting false articles claiming that Israel harvests Palestinian organs, the latest iteration of a centuries-old anti-Semitic blood libel.

This is something that the Republicans should get onto.

This is something that the Republicans should get onto.

Anita Dunn loves Mao, Van Jones is a Troofer, and now the O picks another Jewish-9/11-conspirator to represent this country. This is one more thing that tells me that we've got someone sinister in the White House.

We are not yet a Caliphate, but we are working on it...Give Rasool Obama another four years and the mission will be accomplished...

I sent this note to the State Department's website:

********************

I have recently heard that the President has selected Salam al-Maryati to represent the USA at the OSCE. If so, this is very troubling news indeed.

Maryati is one who suggested that Israel/the Jews or both were behind the 9/11 attacks. For such a person to represent the people of the USA at an important international conference is an insult to the memory of the 9/11 victims and not only to America's Jews, but to any of us who have ever had Jewish relatives, friends, neighbors, or respected colleagues.

I realize that relations with the Islamic world are fragile at this point. This administration has extended its hand in friendship, and gotten the middle finger thrust in its face. Yes, we need to remind the OIC that Muslims in the USA are respected citizens (including the descendants of the Falastin Arab refugees, over whose plight the Arab street ever finds excuses to hate us, while Arab governments have kept such people stateless refugees down to the Fourth and Fifth Generation), and that Islam suffers no inhibitions in its nurturing its adherents or proselytism in the USA. But when there must be hundreds of responsible Muslim spokesmen, academics, and doubtless valued employees of your State Department, how can our President name someone like Maryati?

Mme. Secretary, if this thing that I heard is indeed true, and you have any shred of decency, you ought to resign your position immediately. Further, you and your husband should publicly withdraw your support for the President and endorse either Mr. Romney or a Third Party candidate. And, should the Foreign Service Association call a strike over this, I will be the first citizen to declare solidarity with it over the issue.

******************

Note: The Foreign Service Association is "Da Yoooniun" for American diplomats.

Seriously, seeing this latest Obama pick after the Troofer Van Jones and Press Sec Anita Dunn who admires Mao Zedong, I find the sitting president downright sinister.

Can American Jews take multiple loud hints, or are they still compelled to vote democrat cause it's the "liberal" thing to do?

Of course, Pres Obama's recruitment of Mr al-Marayati complements the presence in the White House of Ms Clinton's aide, Ms Abedin:

The journal Huma Abedin and her family edited adopted the goals and ideas of the Muslim Brotherhood."

Obama: lets see......how many ways are there to spell 'anti-American'?

Why? Hamas and Hezbollah are just fighting in self-defense for the "Palestinian people" you care so much about.

Very few know the real political position of al-Marayati, he might be a spy for Western intelligence agencies. The names of Islamic activists are needed and al-Marayati might be selling that information. A thousand bucks for outing a terrorist is the going price.

You wrote, trying to muddy the water: '...al-Marayati .... might be a spy for Western intelligence agencies.'

Then again, he might not! Maybe he's a rabid Jew hater!
In fact, he has a long history of saying things that reveal his irrational hatred of Jews.

You're a clown!

"Very few know the real political position of al-Marayati, he might be a spy for Western intelligence agencies."

Wow, you are an optimist!

Rich either hasn't researched the data enough, or he's lying.

If the former (hope springs eternal), he'd do well to carefully read every JW article found on this link --

I don't actually care squat about Israel, but I am a little concerned we may find there is no human right to mock, attack, belittle, or criticize another's religion and there is a human right to get mad about it to the point of criminal retaliation.

And did Acheson ever really get it about Hiss?

The MuBro's run the white house.

Now repeat after me:

Obama is not a Muslim, Obama is not a Muslim, Obama is not.....?

Thomas,

Your reference is fantastic. The only problem with it is its length. It gives a massive amount of indisputable factual material on the particulars of the Muslim Brotherhood connections of Huma Abedin, a key Hillary Clinton adviser. The only problem is, it is so long as to turn aside the potential readers from the State Department and the US Justice Department, whose duty is to vet government officials, and whose attention span is apparently framed by the current entertainment media.

The fact is, the US is under a determined attack by a serious and very sophisticated enemy, the Muslim Brotherhood. In a sense, the illiterate Muslims who post to Jihad Watch are doing the jihad a service, because they make readers think that such infiltration is easily spotted and even more easily refuted. We are in dire danger by not taking the sophistication of the enemy seriously enough.

Andrew McCarthy's book is one good compromise, easy to read, but fully aware of the sophistication of the Muslim mind, giving quotes and documents to substantiate its case.

Note the response from State Department:

Mr. al-Marayati has been involved in U.S. government initiatives for almost 10 years and has been a valued and highly credible interlocutor on issues affecting Muslim communities,” a spokesman for the U.S. Mission to the OSCE told the Free Beacon Thursday in a statement.

Anyone feeling reassured by this, please raise their hands...

To me, this reads more like:
"Don't you worry about our key infiltrator, Citizen!"

This SOB does everything he can to piss this country off. Don't know how much good it will do but I went ahead and e-mailed this story to the Romney/Ryan website. I just titled the suggestion as "Read this"

http://www.mittromney.com/contact-us

Yet another reason why I won't be voting for Obama.

I was present at this conference this past week and I can tell you that I nearly fell off the chair when I heard Marayati speak. How can it be that a man representing MPAC is given diplomatic status? Where are the representatives of the Christians, the Buddhists, the Hindus, the Atheists?

But then again, one should not be too surprised given the level of infiltration of MB in the US government. I am at a loss at which is worse: the situation in Europe or in the US.

I was there as well, and noted that the first thing he needed to tell the assembly was "I am a practicing Muslim!". While he may certainly know a lot about Islam, that does not differ vastly from having Germans on board during the 1930's due to their close understanding of National Socialism...

Related, Alex Johnson, also of the US delegation, was repeatedly and personally addressed as 'Brother' by a represenative of an Islamic NGO. I wonder why?

Finally I noticed that several representatives from the US delegation stressed the United States as a "Defender of Pluralism" - I was left wondering what that means. Hopefully not that the US/CIA would sponsor civil war in Syria or something..?

I might add that I have been attending OSCE events for three and a half years and I have not seen Marayati once until Monday.

And I will deposit an urgent call to all freedom-loving NGO's to register at OSCE and join us next year.

Americans MUST vote this man out of office.
He is dangerous for USA. And if he stays for 4 more years, I dread to think what will happen.

No surprise here. This paid for ward of Socialist and Islamic elitists, has been facillitating their agenda since day one. Obama, does not do anything singularly. It's time we remove this shill, that is systematically destroying our free enterprise system.

Here's the right article. That's the fox in the hen house.

sorry, I shouldn't yell ...I'll use my small chicken voice baagaa

You wrote: ...the first thing he needed to tell the assembly was "I am a practicing Muslim!"

Islam is the only religion that practicing guarantees you'll always be imperfect! Very imperfect!

Appointment of SALAM AL-MARAYATI is the correct step in the right direction. This is a brave move by the Department of State.

I bet right wing neo-con Zionist would like to see one of the violent disciple late Mier Kahane appointed for the same post, who terrorize Palestinian children in around Hebron, occupied Palestine on a daily basis.

LOL, right wing neo-con Zionist can not permanently occupy Palestine. It would remain a dream.

One of the greatest progressive American President ever...GO OBAMA ! 100% landslide guaranteed in 2012 !

"The State Department, however, defended al-Marayati’s participation, calling him 'valued and highly credible.'"

The al-Obama administration would ...

that's because obama is one of THEM.

Hi, LemonLime ...

You wrote:

So right, LemonLime ..."Rich" does not support Israel, nor does "danny". In fact I would guess from their comments that they both HATE Israel. Yeah they're quite a pair of pretenders, imo. And if they don't hate Israel, then lets see how they respond to my accusation. Lets just see if they reply by correcting me and proclaim, "I love Israel!"

But I kinda doubt it ...

And then this "danny" clown is such a hypocrite who runs through the halls of Jihad Watch everyday with his hair on fire screaming at us to LOOOVE! not hate; when in fact he does not even support Israel's right to exist! Boy he needs to heed his own advice and stat.

I love Israel! Long live Israel!

Thanks god. This guy is no Jonathan Pollard

@danny you misguided fool and tool for allah ...

Take your complaints about the 'Palestinian plight' to the correct complaint department: the Arabs! ..not Jihad Watch

The Arabs are the ones that you need to complain to, since THEY are the ones that have rejected their own people.

Aiming your complaints in the RIGHT direction is a good first start for you to take ...

Next is for you to get help with your reading comprehension because the quran is a manual-4-murder you moron.

What, don't you read it? Obviously not ...

Only if we allow him to steal the vote, like any good muslim, by way of Spain and Chicago thugs....

"In the last days of the Roman Empire, she bestowed the highest honor of the office of arms and of the administration of the palaces to barbarians, who maintained secrete correspondence with their country, who acquired the knowledge and advantages that supported its decline."

Actually that theory about the fall of the Roman Empire has been persuasively counter-argued by the Pirenne thesis, recently given new vigor by a new study --

Mohammed and Charlemagne Revisited:
The History of a Controversy
by Emmet Scott
New English Review Press · 2012 · 270 pages
$19.95 · Kindle version $9.95

A truly stellar essay about it and its implications (using copious quotes from the book) was written a couple of months ago by Baron Bodissey:

Who Really Killed the Pax Romana?

The answer to that question you'll find by reading the essay, but I can offer a "spoiler" I'm sure you saw coming a mile away: The Muslims.

The interesting corollary to that answer is that the Germanic barbarians who slowly percolated into the vast and sprawling Empire, far from being a threat and "ending" the Empire, actually assimilated into its culture and values and virtues because they (with of course exceptions) saw Rome as superior to their own culture in many ways, and really wanted to be "Roman" -- and they did become Roman, and then not long after that, became Roman Christians, at least a good 300 years before Mohammed was even in diapers (I mean around his loins, not the diapers around his head). I.e., unlike Muslims, Germans assimilated and eventually became productive members of a culture they came to respect as superior to theirs: the Germans had no supremacist script from on high, as did the Muslims, with an eternal and deranged vengeance.

You're right Champ. I suspect that "Rich" would be slipperier than danny on your question: he'd answer with that big Palestinian Butt, by saying "I support Israel, but..." -- with what follows, word by word chipping away at his first three words until there's no real support left (revealing his true feelings).

Yep! especially given Rich's rabid support of "Palestine" ...

It's a human rights conference!!

The Obama appointment reflects a pattern seen in Leftist newspapers.

As the biggest human rights offenders on earth are Muslim nations.

So as not to offend - they get a Muslim writer and in this case a Muslim appointee to pretty much negate the issue.

::

Look at the Guardian newspaper - you have Copts being attacked - these few day long broad daylight pogroms - with shops, homes and cars burnt out - Copts openly attacked in the streets and shot dead - footage appears on youtube - such that one cannot claim - this did not happen [that it is all "Islamophobia"] - so in order to address the issue - of Muslim persecution of Christians - they hand the story to a Muslim writer.

The Guardian's fave is an Egyptian who calls himself an 'Arab' - and the story would never mention the denial of civil rights for non-Muslims and how he as a Muslim - if he were living in Egypt - would have more rights under the law than - any Copt. [As for him it's what God wants!]

The conflict of interests doesn't occur to them - so long as the Left - after this horrible mess is over - were not seen as having offended Islam.

::

But let's not forget the focus of Islam is Israel - and this is something they and the Left share. And with this - the biggest offenders of human rights on earth - get a free pass!!

::

Think about it ~ the US Constitution is probably small potatoes for these guys - it will be the Universal Declaration of Human Rights they will try to dismantle next - with the Left just-following-orders - trying to excuse away its meaning - as possibly being offensive to some people!

George Orwell is smirking at Miss Hillary, thinking to himself, ...."make note of her for my sequel....."

Sam, please translate that; my Yiddish isn't what it used to be. :)

I second Mike Ryan's comment.

Who cares if he was a Muslim?

Hush, danny boy.

I see you are taking my name in vain again Lemonlime. Have you finally gone bonkers or are you replying to someone else, or have you started thinking of me your every waking moment and a good bit of your dreams too? Read my post at the very top.

OK Champ and Lemonlime you two bigots par excellence. Just shut up about me you two old farts.

You put "Palestine" in inverted comma's as though its a myth.

Educate yourselves here:

My "rabid" support of "Palestine" consists of saying that if at some stage they adopt secularism and give up trying to destroy Israel and recognise its right to exist they have a right to have their own country.

You have stated you do not support any Arabs be they secular or Christian or peaceful Muslims. You have shown yourselves to be bigots.

Ah, Wikipedia, that paragon of objective information!

Lemonlime "Why? Hamas and Hezbollah are just fighting in self-defense for the "Palestinian people" .."

So you think there is nothing wrong in Salam al-Marayati representing the US at human rights conference?

LemonLime "..the "Palestinian people" you care so much about."

Ok I've analysed you a long time ago LemonLime. Though at that time I didnt realise what a bigot you were, just a mirror image of an Islamic Jihadist.

By an accident of fate you were born into your beliefs which you will die with, as are the Jihadists - though a different set of beliefs to yours.

You condemn all Arabs - Christian Arabs are too "Dhimmified" to be of any concern, secular Arabs or peaceful Muslim Arabs are too cowed and useless to be supported - subjugate and exterminate the lot is your philosophy.

Had you been in their shoes, surrounded by murderous gun toting Jihadists, you would have spoken up and shown them whats what. You would have done that in countries that are more than 90% Muslim. But in USA which is less than 5% Muslim you'd be a little careful. I understand that.

There are people who are born into Muslim households but who have had the intelligence and courage to shake off the indoctrination they have been subjected to all their lives. I believe they should be supported and encouraged. I believe that propaganda should be confronted with logic and truth. I believe that secularism will eventually prevail.

You would rather condemn them all.

Over here you jealously guard your territory against any newcomers, specially if, god forbid, they might actually be able to think for themselves and have opinions of their own.

Isnt that right Lemonlime?

I can understand the motivation of Christian dhimmis (Hugh Fitzgerald's islamochristians), the basic human instinct for survival among a majority of ruthless, vicious, hateful, fanatical, violent population of Muslims.

That may be tragic for them; but we have a primary priority: protecting our own. Nothing else takes precedence over that. When dealing with a wildly unpredictable deadliness as we do with Muslims, where one misculaculation, one instinct of sympathy could result in not stopping a suicide bombing of a public place -- or worse -- we don't have the luxury of letting our sentimentality dictate a dream world. We have to live in the real world, with Muslims metastasizing in our time. Anyone who gets in our way of protecting our loved ones and our fellow citizens is no different from someone standing in the way of saving our child from a burning house.

it will be the Universal Declaration of Human Rights they will try to dismantle next

Ehm, 'Next'..?

Have a look at this video, where ICLA explains the OIC skunkworks project to do exactly that. They've been on it for more than 20 years.

It is abundantly clear...this administration favors the interests of the islamic world over the interestests of America. It has been gravitating towrds the OIC ever since this president became President. And...Hillary fits right in. She just sponsored a jolly little conference with the OIC over defamatioon of religion and hate speech. Euphemisms to harness our first amendment. In my opinion...the only difference between Hillary and Barack is the size and color of the pant suits.

America needs a new president. And...with that would come a new secretary of state. Two problems solved in one election. One can only hope!!!

Unfortunately American's have been put to sleep and kept asleep by a very compliant and pro-Islamic media.

This is all part of the plan found in the new book:

***THE ISLAMIC CONQUEST OF EUROPE 2020*** found on Amazon.com

You won't believe what comes next!

Eurodhimmi

thanks so much for the 'inside' view.

You wrote - "I was present at this conference this past week and I can tell you that I nearly fell off the chair when I heard Marayati speak. How can it be that a man representing MPAC is given diplomatic status? Where are the representatives of the Christians, the Buddhists, the Hindus, the Atheists?"

Very good question, as regards the Buddhists. And the atheists, for that matter, who were certainly more numerous than the Muslims.

In *Australia*, Buddhists and Hindus together comprise a significantly *larger* portion of the population than do the Muslims...and are growing *faster*. Yet it is Muslims who get all the airtime and 'face time', Muslims who have their representatives on this that and the other 'multicultural' body. When in fact, instead of having earnest glossy booklets designed to help schoolkids and their teachers understand the wonderfulness of Islam and how to accommodate Muslims, one would expect booklets on *Buddhism* to be getting published...

And according to the CIA's world factbook, 2012 updated version, here are the stats on 'religion' in the USA:

"Protestant 51.3%, Roman Catholic 23.9%, Mormon 1.7%, other Christian 1.6%, Jewish 1.7%, Buddhist 0.7%, Muslim 0.6%, other or unspecified 2.5%, unaffiliated 12.1%, none 4% (2007 est.)".

There are MORE Buddhists in the USA, than Muslims - Buddhists comprising .7 % of the population whereas Muslims comprise .6 %.

If 'minority religions' were to be represented, then on the basis of population percentages, a Buddhist should have been selected rather than a Muslim.

I have a Christian sourcebook 'Operation World' - a bit dated, it was published in 2001 - and its figures on religious groups in the US back then are interesting when compared to the 2007 estimates from the CIA page.

In 2001, the breakdown was Christian (all varieties) 84 percent, non-religious 9.4 percent, Jews 2 percent, Muslims 1.49 percent [I suspect this may have been an overestimate] with a growth rate of 1.7 %, and Buddhists 0.9 percent, but ...this is very interesting...with a growth rate of 3.2 percent. Which suggests that Muslim claims to be 'the fastest growing religion' were certainly not true, as far as America was concerned, at that time [it was the 'Buddhist' and 'Chinese' i.e. Chinese traditional beliefs, Taoism, Confucianism etc, that had the highest growth rates, 3.2 % and 5.4 % respectively!]. And it is interesting that in 2012, the Muslim percentage of the population as a whole seems to be somewhat *less* than it was in 2001, while the *Buddhist* percentage has increased, sneaking past that of the Muslims....

Mate

just bear in mind that the best-laid plans o' mice and men/ gang aft agley. And that can mean the best-laid plans of our Enemy, just as much as those of our own side. And the longer-running and more elaborate and ramified a Plan is, the more subject it is to disruption by Time and Chance.

And remember what G K Chesterton once said. I can't give you the reference - I'm not sure which book of his it's in - but he talks somewhere about what he calls "the game of 'Cheat the Prophet'" which is played by ordinary people in the countries of what used to be called Christendom.

In Chesterton's great poem about the battle of Lepanto, he has 'Mahound' say -
"But a noise is in the mountains, in the mountains, and I know
The voice that shook our palaces—four hundred years ago:
It is he that saith not 'Kismet'; it is he that knows not Fate;
It is Richard, it is Raymond, it is Godfrey at the gate!"

'You wont' believe what comes next'?

What if 'what comes next' is a surprise for everybody...including, and perhaps especially, the Muslim plotters and planners?

Treason is Treason. Giving aid or comfort to our enemies is treason Mr. President. You are doing so by this and other appointments and actions.
