Pakistan: 600-strong Muslim mob attacks church

The escalating persecution of Christians in Islamic lands gets little notice in the Western media. They're much too busy looking for cases of "Islamophobia."

Karachi (Agenzia Fides) - The Catholic Church of St. Francis, the oldest of the archdiocese of Karachi, in the old town, was attacked by a mob of about 600 Islamic radicals that devasted [sic] the yard, but did not manage to break through the front door.
The two Franciscan monks who live there, Fr. Victor Mohan and Fr. Albert Jamil, OFM, and the sisters who work there "are afraid, they fear more attacks, but trust in the Providence of God," they tell Fides.

The episode, which has aroused indignation and concern throughout the Catholic community in Karachi, took place at 7 pm last Friday, October 12. A Franciscan priest told Fides: "Fr. Victor had just finished celebrating a wedding, when he heard noises and shouting from the compound of the church. Immediately all the faithful, women and children were sent to the parish house. The radicals, shouting against the Christians, broke into the building and started devastating everything: cars, bikes, vases of flowers. They broke an aediculeand took the statue of the Madonna. They tried to force the door of the church, throwing stones at the church and destroying the windows " The acts of vandalism continued for an hour, then the police arrived, the crowd dispersed. According to Fides sources, the attack can still be a reaction to the blasphemous film on Mohammed or otherwise related to the issue of blasphemy.

In the days following the Catholic Church in Karachi organized a public demonstration of protest, led by the Archbishop of Karachi, Mgr. Joseph Coutts, with the participation of hundreds of priests, nuns, lay people, members of the Commission "Justice and Peace" and of human rights activists. The Assembly, gathered in a peaceful manner, prayed for peace and respect for all religions. Archbishop Coutts told Fides: "The church of San Francesco has always served the poor with a school and a medical clinic run by nuns. For nearly 80 years it carries out a humble service to humanity without any discrimination of caste, ethnicity or religion. Why these acts? Why are we not safe? ".

But in Dar-al-Islam, getting up a mob hundreds strong to *attack a church* seems to be a piece of cake.

Yes—what madness. And it's all bs—most of the "Islamophobia" involves entirely peaceful resistance to Jihad. It's not as though there are roving mobs in the West attacking Mosques.

"The Providence of God"? Certainly, a better bet than hoping for protection from the Pakistani police or military.

Here's a picture of peaceful demonstrators with signs protesting the attack. One characteristic sign reads. "Attack on religious and educational institute is attack on the future of Pakistan".

Not exactly "Behead those who insult the Prophet", is it?

Of course, all too many pious Muslims envision a future for Pakistan where all the Christians—and Hindus, and Sikhs—have been driven out, forcibly converted, or murdered.

*Friday*. As poster Dumbledore's Army points out, so many attacks by Muslim mobs take place on Fridays, after the "faithful" have been whipped up by fiery Kutbahs into a frenzy of hate against the Kuffar.

What would the mob have done had they been able to break into the parish house? What would they have done to the women and children there?

And note, it took police *an hour* to arrive—at a location right in the center of Karachi. Even by the shoddy standards of a third-world police force, there is no ordinary way to account for this. They *intended* to give the mob time for destruction.

This is by no means uncommon in Dar-al-Islam. We have seen just the same thing happen in Egypt, in northern Nigeria, in Iraq, in Indonesia—on and on. And it happens quite frequently in Pakistan itself. In fact, police have even been known to *join in* on attacks against Infidels.

"Otherwise related to the issue of blasphemy"—since the mere presence of Christians in a Muslim country is considered "blasphemy", this is a pretty broad category...

And even if this *was* supposedly about the "blasphemous" film about Mohammed, note what Shari'ah does—it victimizes people for the actions of other Infidels literally *half way around the world*.

Imagine living under Shari'ah, and having to worry about the actions of any Infidel, anywhere on the face of the earth, lest it "inflame" the rage of local Muslims. Collective punishment doesn't get any worse than this.

And remember—all that American film trailer did was draw attention to the oppression of another threatened Christian minority—the Copts in Egypt—on the model of the "Prophet" of Islam.

Under Shari'ah, Infidels are not even allowed to lament their own oppression and victimization—lest they want to risk being victimized again.

The fact that this church has cared for Muslims for most of a century will not save them from the vicious Muslim mobs, I'm afraid.

Muslims often attack hospitals, clinics, doctors, nurses, rescue personnel, and charity workers.

God, I hate Islam.
