An update on this story. "Christian teenager Ryan Stanten held for blasphemy in Pakistan," from Continental News, October 21 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

A Muslim mob ransacked the home of a 16-year-old Christian boy accused of sending a blasphemous text message; he has been charged with Pakistan’s most serious “blasphemy” offence, which carries the death penalty.
According to Barnabas Fund (www.barnabasfund.org), Ryan Stanten allegedly forwarded on Tuesday. October 9, 2012, a text containing material deemed offensive to Islam. It was sent to fellow residents of a middle-class colony in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, for employees of a gas company.

The 16-year-old was brought before the gas company boss and a local imam; Ryan told them that he had received the text message from someone else and then forwarded it to Muslim friends without reading it.

“The following day, an angry Muslim mob led by Islamic clerics attacked the home where Ryan lives with his mother, Rubina Bryan,” said a spokesperson for the UK-based group. “They ransacked the property and set fire to numerous household items, including a bed, washing machine and fridge, after dragging them into the street. The assailants also shouted insults against the Christian family, who had already abandoned the house.

“The police arrived at the scene and tried to appease the protestors by assuring them that a case would be registered”.

Barnabas Fund went on to say that Ryan was subsequently detained and charged with the most serious blasphemy offence in the Pakistan Penal Code, section 295-C, which carries the death penalty for using derogatory remarks against Muhammad. He was also charged under the country’s Anti-Terrorism Act and Telegraph Act.

His mother has reportedly been dismissed from her job at the gas company....

What's the status of Ryan Stanten and his mother, Rubina Bryan?

These are not Pakistani names, not even for Pakistani Christians. Is the family expat, with his mother working for a Pakistani gas company?

Are they Americans, or Brits? Are our Western diplomats on the case? Does anyone know?

Like the Berlin wall, the ideological wall of fear, keeping Islam's followers inside it's grip, will crumble as well. Islam is eroding with each act of violence perpetrated on those who dare to think freely.

Being a Christian in an islamic hellhole (like Pakistan)is hell on earth! Clearly this young man and his mother are being persecuted just for being Christian, and not over this text. The text is just a bogus excuse to carry out their hatred for *non-muslims*. Yeah hating comes natually to those that follow islam.

They appeased the protestors? When they should have arrested THEM for their criminal behavior. Herein lies yet another example of insanity and backwards *justice* within the ranks of islam and company--where truth and justice simply do not exist.

the adherants to SHARIA (a recent moral law that is supposed to be more instructive and helpful than that of Moses)complete its central purpose to enslave and bring a person to beggary. that's the downside of (or the bleakside) of its supposed glory. It's a cruel tool used to break and terrorize and bring chaos.

since the brothers behave in unison we must observe they think they are moral beings...everyone else was doing it.... But the SHARIA produces amoral individuals who besmirch their humanity, for they are unable to be merciful and kind, like the Allah god (unknowable; as imagined) is purported to be.

and there's the rub: that side of the Allah god is not seen ... only it's blood lust and unbearable cruelty.

this incident is reported for the third time in this month.the first link sent by me to RS[i was credited] with brief info; followed by a more detailed post sent by another reader.now the third time.

the boy must've been forced to confess.his mother was 'well employed', by paki standards.this must have enraged her muslim neighbours.

i feel they should be given asylum in any western country, whether they are of british/US or asian origin.

If Ryan Stanton survives prison to be brought before a court, he will very likely be acquitted and released because of international pressure. But all Pakistanis, including the judges, police and politicians know, that this is just a tactic for him to be murdered by the mob.

This way the Pakistani government is absolved, and gets its Western Jizya.

Yes, I do. That was Abdul Rahman, who was given sanctuary in Italy—and kudos to them for taking him in. The poor man was under death sentence as an apostate in Afghanistan.

In fact, I would like to see the West taking in threatened Infidels fleeing from Dar-al-Islam. That would be far more decent—and far saner—than the current situation, where we seem to be importing large numbers of violent Jihad-minded Muslims.

Apparently India is taking a huge number of refugees those who can make it. As far as I can figure, Pakistan is a living hell and it always was like that.

Unfortunately we never read these kind of report about Pakistan before 9/11. The things were not that much different before either. Just need to do a simple arithmetic :

Pak population in 1947 = 34 Mil (2012 it is 180 Mil) that is not due to millions flocking to the hell hole;

In 1947, for instance there were more than 15% Hindus and 5% Christians and today the Pakies claim there are 1.6% Christians and 3.3% Hindus. I do not believe there are so many Hindus and Christians still living there, because they never give any reliable figures. They concoct population figures to draw more Western aid. The country is a mess and messed up by the Islamists.

id love a word for word translation. every time this happens, its a paper tiger...islam. or a 'sandcamel'. kick it over.

i remember the 1st ever news story i saw or heard about islam. it was about the beheading of natives in west papua.

that was about 38 years ago. its still ingrained.

Of course, even India is deeply troubled by its violent Muslim minority. But it is much better for any Infidel than what you rightly call the living hell of the "Land of the Pure".

Keep in mind, when Pakistan claims it is prosecuting "terrorists", it may really mean that it is *persecuting Christians*. Madness.
