Pamela Geller: Choose love, defeat jihad

The creator of the controversial anti-jihad ads defends them against attacks from self-deluded Leftist clergy: "Choose Love: Defeat Jihad," by Pamela Geller in the Jewish Voice, October 10:

There are now three separate ad campaigns devoted to opposing my pro-Israel ad in New York subways, and more are coming.
My ad reads: “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad.” Some Jewish and Christian groups have called this message hateful, and have decided to put up counter-ads that they say are more “loving.”

One of these ads says, “help stop bigotry against our Muslim neighbors.” Another: “love your Muslim neighbor.” And a third: “support peace in word and deed.” Rabbi Jill Jacobs of Rabbis for Human Rights explained: “We, as an organization of rabbis want to make it clear to New York and to the U.S. that neither rabbis nor the mainstream Jewish community support this dehumanization, but in fact we value partnership with our Muslim neighbors and Muslim organizations."

These rabbis have good intentions. But is my ad really “bigoted” and “dehumanizing”? Or does it just state unpleasant facts? The jihad against Israel is a jihad against innocent civilians, and the targeting of civilians is indeed savage. The relentless 60-year campaign of terror against the Jewish people is savage. The torture of hostage Gilad Shalit was savage. The bloody hacking to death of the Fogel family was savage. The Munich Olympic massacre was savage. The unspeakable torture of Ehud Goldwasser was savage. The tens of thousands of rockets fired from Gaza into southern Israel (into schools, homes, etc.) Are savage. The vicious Jew-hatred behind this genocide is savage. The endless demonization of the Jewish people in the Palestinian and Arab media is savage. The refusal to recognize the state of Israel as a Jewish state is savage. The list is endless.

I am all for countering hate. The ad speaks to the defense of freedom and individual rights for all. There’s nothing hateful about it. 9/11 was hate. 3/11 in Madrid was hate. 7/7 in London was hate. The Fort Hood jihadi was hate. The Christmas underwear bomber was hate. The Fort Dix Six was hate. Pushing back against such hate is not hate.

I doubt that the rabbis in Rabbis for Human Rights know anything about the jihad doctrine that relentlessly seeks to violently impose islamic law and pursues jihad against non-muslims, or about the Islamic antisemitism that is deeply ingrained in the qur’an and sunnah, and that identifies the Jews as the worst enemies of the Muslims (qur’an 5:82) and under allah’s curse (qur’an 9:30). When have they spoken out against that hate, because of which Jews suffer daily? When have they called upon Muslim leaders to reform the qur’an and expunge its virulently antisemitic texts, which are routinely quoted on Palestinian Authority TV as justifying endless warfare against the state of Israel and Jews everywhere? What topsy-turvy moral compass have they employed to come to the conclusion that the “hater” is not the imams who routinely preach violence and antisemitism in mosques and on TV in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, but me when I try to call attention to the barbaric cruelty of the jihad against Israel?

Maybe so, but there is little or no excuse for that ignorance...The information about Islam, jihad and sharia is available and free on the web...and/or excellent books are available...The dhimmi minded are simply intellectually lazy...It's much easier to just stay stupid...It's a form of bliss...Allah thinks of everything...

BIGOTRY: stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own.

Islam is an evil ideology. "Muslims" are the adherents of that evil ideology. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with hating Islam and Muslims. Quite frankly, we must encourage it until we rid the world of that evil.

Love is not going to transform that which is inherently evil. Get real!

Like duh_swami above points out, it literally comes down to an ignorance about the teachings of Islam.

Still way to many Westerners go about their daily business never taking the time to understand why there is an Al Qaeda or Hezbollah among around 35 other Islamic terrorist groups recognized by our own state department.

What drives them? You would think most non Muslims would certainly want to take the time to truly understand why they want to kill us, you would think they might venture over to read about the prescribed obligation of jihad against the infidel so easily read in the Quran or Koran that can easily be found in Barnes and Noble, but sadly very few do take that time.

Robert Spencer in the past has recommended " The Koran" by N..J. Dawood in the past. One could easily Google jihad on internet as well in a heartbeat.

You would think Americans would be spurred onto understand jihad in the Islamic trilogy after the horrific trauma of 9-11 or the massacre at Fort Hood by Major Nadal Hassan among so many others that came without provocation.

There are in fact jihads occurring across the planet daily from the Philippines to Nigeria and nearly 40 other places.

Still we see people who ignore these teachings that this aggressive and intolerant totalitarian ideology pushes across the planet everyday.

Yes there are Muslims who want to live peaceful lives and who do not want to commit jihad against the infidel, but sadly Islam does not teach such peaceful coexistence with other religions in almost anyway and it is the fundamentalist or literalists of Islam who we have to deal with.

We need to be reminded that the words of Mohamed are considered pure for all time and cannot be abrogated in anyway no matter how archaic they are, to do so invites the charge of blasphemy.

That standing against Jihad terrrorism and Honor Killings is now considered "Hate Speech" by many exemplifies the madness of our times.

So if love must be "sincere", then it's impossible to love what is evil; and I think that we can all agree that "jihad" is EVIL. Hey it's quite evil.

Yes, I agree, defeating jihad is in fact a very loving thing to do ...

I would even add that *tough love* is needed; especially where islam and company are concerned.

Choose love: defeat Jihad. (Wafa Sultan, ex-Muslim, wrote a whole book about Islam and called it "A God Who Hates').

Choose life: defeat Jihad.

Choose Humanity: defeat Jihad.

Islam is nihilist, death-worshipping and anti-human/ inhuman.

When Islam is not able to compel 'conversion' by the sword, its chief appeal (when presented raw, without a deceptive nicey-nice mask) is to two types of people who get off on the dream of power freed from all moral restraints, one at the very bottom or margins of society - that is, career criminals, your basic thug or bully - and one among the upper echelons, among the Dorian Greys, the spoilt-rich-kid connoisseurs of nihilism, decadence and sexual perversion. In other words, the kinds of people who were naturally drawn to the Nazi party...I suspect Mohammedan recruiters within non-Muslim societies are always on the look out for these types, but particularly for the decadent upper-crust specimens, as they are likely to have more economic and political clout than the thugs. And it is perfectly possible to imagine that a person of corrupted tastes might embrace Islam simply from reading the Islamic texts, without ever actually meeting a Muslim.

Of course, some normal decent westerners - like our Saleem Smith and Istanbul Chick, - *can* be sucked in by Islam when it uses its smiling da'wa mask...but if they're lucky, as these two were, their commonsense kicks in once the mask slips away and they begin to see the Void behind it, and they turn round and flee.
