Royal British Legion to protect poppy sellers from Muslim attackers

This PC Telegraph article notes an "Asian," i.e., Muslim, attack on a poppy seller, and then dutifully adds, "Yobs also hurled abuse at two Asian girl cadets." This is just window dressing. In Britain, Islamic supremacists hurl abuse at returning British troops, and are the only reason why poppy sellers are in any danger.

Poppy sellers will receive protection from Royal British Legion “minders” for the first time after a spate of attacks last year in which volunteers were verbally abused and spat on.
The unprecedented security will be provided for young Army cadets in Bradford, West Yorks, after the attacks on teenage collectors.

The security chaperones will accompany the volunteers, aged between 10 and 17, amid concerns many are now too frightened to participate in fund-raising efforts.

From this week they will be shadowed by motor enthusiasts from the Legion’s Riders branch, many of whom are former members of the Armed Forces, following the series of incidents last year.

Those attacks left the local Legion branch horrified and forced Army officials to visit schools to stress the need to honour the fallen and overcome cultural barriers.

In one incident, a 13 year-old Army cadet, Bethany Holmes, was spat at three times by a group of younger Asian boys while collecting for the first time.

Yobs also hurled abuse at two Asian girl cadets and two other sellers were sworn at in the city centre while one young poppy seller also had her tin grabbed from her shoulder.

"It [security] is something we need and it's ideal because it would keep the cadets safe,” Barbara Allsopp, the Bradford RBL Poppy Appeal organiser, said last night.

The Riders is a branch of the British legion established in 2004, in which members include ex-forces motorcyclist ethusiasts [sic], who offer support to the poppy appeal.

Rod Walker, a spokesman for the Riders West Yorkshire, added: "After what happened last year we thought our job should be to support the branches....

You are probably right Sean. As a Brit I can tell you that Bradford has a very high Muslim population. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that "the group of younger Asian boys" were Muslims.

That was my first thought, the girls were Sikh or Hindu. Since there is a larger Sikh population in Bradford and Hindus are more likely to stay out of the limelight I agree that they are probably Sikhs.

And of course, the poppy is the very symbol of patriotism and support for the troops in Britain.

I can remember poppy sellers here in the States from when I was a child, but that was more linked specifically with WWI veterans here than in Britain. Even when I was a child I remember most of the sellers were quite elderly.

I kept one of the paper poppies until I left home. I wish I still had it.

What this really is is an attack on Britain *as Britain* by vile Muslim "youth".

The first time I ever heard of Muslims in Bradford was in 1989, when they burned copies of the "Satanic Verses" and called for Salman Rushdie's head. I remember not only being appalled, but also surprised that a city *in Yorkshire* had a significant Muslim population. Of course, I am no longer surprised. Bradford has become a hotbed of "street Jihad" since.

Yes, these are kids—but they are also *army cadets*. I doubt that they are frightened off by jeering or spitballs. That means the Muslim "youth" are seriously violent.

"Cultural barriers". With Islam, that would be the desire to conquer the Infidels. That leads, naturally enough, to a hatred of those who defend Infidels, the foremost of which are the armed forces. How are they going to "overcome" that?

They don't want to *honour* the fallen—they want to ensure that there are many more of them.

Somehow, I doubt very much that those 'Asian' girl cadets - that is, Army cadets - would have been Pakistani Muslims.

They are much more likely to have been from the *other* 'Asian' (that is, South Asian, or subcontinental) communities in the UK, either Hindu (quite probably daughters of Gurkha fathers) or Sikh (with fathers or grandfathers who had proudly served in the British army) or even ethnically-Indian **Christians** (such as one finds in the ranks of, for example, the 'British Pakistani Christian Association', holding protests at Downing Street and outside Pakistani diplomatic premises in the UK, to deplore Muslim Pakistan's abuses of its non-Muslim minorities).

And I'd hazard the guess that the 'yobs' who attacked them were...Muslims, just as in the preceding paragraph.

My Grandparents fought in WW2, both of them. Grandma went to France to work with the Resistance and Grandpa was 'just a lad doing his bit' as he put it.
Both British, and I'm learning from Family History that my lineage in England goes back over 10 Generations, thus far.
It's also pretty convoluted.

They fought, shed blood, enemy and their own, for Britain, the Allies, Liberty and the ideals of Humanity.

Now, we have this...Treason allowing these filthy svoluches to infest every Western nation, spreading like a fast-growing cancer, bringing hatred, violence and insanity as well as the islamic atrocity exhibition, demanding special accomodation and leeching the social systems dry.
Now, this lovely demonstration of how truly excremental, foul, disgustingly despicable and bilious islam truly stands revealed as.

This is Personal for me, on a very real level, as my ancestors are all buried in England and it's a nation I have had to forsake ever visiting--I'd wanted to see England, not Bludgetain. I don't even want to think about what's going to happen to my ancestors gravestones and tombs there with these sub-human abominations running around uncaged and being allowed to go un-challenged.

I'm afraid what it *actually* means is that in any altercation with proper *British* army cadets, and muslim scum, the police are far more likely to arrest the *army cadets*.

Thus far has our country fallen. 40 years ago this scenario would have been the stuff of nightmarish science fiction.

Last week was the culmination of that poignant fortnight in which people all over the world wear a poppy in the lead-up to Remembrance Day. Nothing is more dramatic than seeing the sea of red flowers in the lapels of British men and women as they make their way to the office in the early-morning rush hour. All across the British Isles men and women of all ages wear a poppy. When I arrived in the United Kingdom thirty years ago from the United States I was so touched by this tradition that I made sure to buy one from a British Legion volunteer as soon as November rolled around.

The poppy is a symbol of the terrible loss of life in World War I in the fields of Flanders, where these blood-red flowers sprouted above the acres of corpses of fallen soldiers. As the decades have passed, the poppy has been worn to show one’s respect for the millions who have died in successive conflicts as recent as Iraq and Afghanistan. On British television, every presenter and anchor wears a poppy. In keeping with the motto of the British Legion—“Wear your poppy with pride”—every shopkeeper, publican, hotel manager and cabbie wears a poppy. This year I proudly bought mine at my local doctor’s office.

It was therefore all the more astonishing last week when I took a long walk along Edgware Road, the most densely Muslim section of London, and discovered that not one person was wearing a poppy.

I believe it is well worth quoting John McCrae's iconic poem here:

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

This moving poem has remained popular for so long because of its resonance—it can easily be applied to any brave peoples fighting evil—Fascism, say—*or Jihad*.

No wonder pious Muslims hate its symbolism, and are willing to assault those who wear or sell it. Because it is the very symbol of those who will *fight them* to keep England—and by extension, the whole of the West—free.

It is called "Remembrance Day" for a reason. Always Remember—Never Submit.
