Why Obama? Surely the title should read "American backed rebels burn down church".

Truly, if we Americans want to get rid of the Islamic menace, we should stop buying oil from the Saudis and stop selling them arms and military hardware. Everyone knows that the Saudis are behind most of the terrorists funding and killing of Christians and other non-Muslims in Africa, the US and elesewhere and the building of mega-mosques in Europe and the US. And our politicians and Presidents should also stop making business with them, whatever their political stripe. The truth, unpleasant as it is, is that the US has supported Islam for decades and even created the rogue country of Saudi Arabia, all for the love of oil.

I can speak for the Armenians in Syria and can tell you that they are deathly afraid that the Syrian government will be overthrown by Muslim Brotherhood and Salafi connected groups. The Western media make no mention of churches being attacked and of Christians being massacred by the Islamist groups the West supports, but when they do mention it they blame it on the Syrian government!

It is strange indeed when I, a staunch anti-Communist American-Armenian during the Cold War, now support Russia and China drawing a line in the sand against the West attacking the Syrian government.

The U.S. government is aiding and assisting the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafis coming to power in multiple countries in the Middle East. This is the biggest strategic blunder by the West since the 1500s, along with Europe’s Euro-Arab Dialog which over the past 40 years has opened Europe to mass Muslim invasion. I spent most of my life believing in Western civilization but near the end of my life I see the West for what it has become — ignorant, deceptive, propelled by self-hatred, digging its own grave. It is no longer worthy of its inheritance.

Get a copy of their petition and, if you are a church-goer, wave it under the noses of your fellow parishioners (and do a bit of consciousness-raising about the Jihad at the same time). You don't have to be a Christian to do this - you can just be someone who cares up human rights - freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, and for that matter, simply the right to *life* and property (which are not assured for Christians or any other non-Muslims, within Muslim lands). If not a Christian, you can bring the petition to the attention of family, friends, workmates and social circle.

Write a letter to your elected representative, using some of the points made by Barnabas.

Christians can take part in the Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, and can encourage their clergy and parish church to observe 'Suffering Church Sunday'. (These events can provide opportunities for the Resistance to make others aware of what the Ummah does to *all* non-Muslims over which it has temporal power; which can and should lead to a healthy awareness of the dangers of being complacent about Islamisation of our own societies).
