I've noticed frequent usage of this type of language by the commenter "Youssef" whom I believe is one of those ex-Muslims who can't quite extirpate the demon of Islam from his psyche, and so he must invent and comfort himself with an artificial "Islamism" and "extremist" this and "radicalized" that in order to avoid condemning Islam straight no chaser no rocks no water.

LemonLime, I believe "Youssef" is a Christian from the Mahgreb—if I recall correctly, this is how he described himself some months back. The rest of your analysis, though, I believe is spot on—this hedging is by no means uncommon even with those who—like Youssef—definitely have some understanding of the Jihad threat.

And good post, Swami. There is indeed nothing "extreme" about Shari'ah in Mali—all of these atrocities are perfectly mainstream Islamic law.

So do not condemn *Youssef* for the wording of that paragraph; you had better rather rail against Associated Press and Reuters and Al Arabiya...There's no byline for the Associated Press material, so we don't know who among their 'stable' produced it.

Incidentally, Youssef, I appreciate your linking to stories of Jihad from North Africa, many of which I would not see otherwise.

But until they show themselves, there is not much we can do, we can only react to actions in that case.

Take a good look at the opening frame of that video above, do you see a savage? I can hear evil, it is spoken, but what I see above is, perhaps, not yet lost, there is always hope.

But we must act to end it, one step before the other.

No—but Islofob is absolutely right that this is the first step. As long as those in the West hem and haw about Islam's being a "great Abrahamic religion" or pretend that its vile teachings are being "hijacked" by "terrorists who are not really Muslim", then we will be unable to really face the Jihad threat.

Calling evil out *as evil* has enormous power—and is something that PC/MC types become almost hysterical to avoid.

I believe you are both correct. I very much believe in individual free will. I also believe that some people will do evil even under the most optimal of circumstances, while others will be generally decent even in the most horrific societies.

But indoctrination has enormous power. For one thing, most people generally follow the credos of their culture without giving the matter much thought—this is true in good societies and bad.

The other matter is that the more pervasive indoctrination becomes, the fewer alternative models exist. A decent person in an evil society will generally keep their decency to themselves, and may even *feel guilty* for not being as evil as their teachers urge.

At best, a naturally decent person in an evil society will be either impotent or else wind up a victim of their evil society, or both.

Just the same, a person who has chosen evil in a decent society will generally be constrained by that society—either by hiding the worst of their evil and chanelling it into generally more socially-acceptable forms, or else—if unable to do so—they will probably be shunned or even wind up in prison from an early age.

There is no reason to suppose that all of these boys in the video above are naturally evil.

Some probably don't understand the full implications of what they are singing—yet—and some probably just want to please their teacher. The uglier, no doubt, do apprehend at least some of the vileness of this song, and feel a frisson of pleasure in singing it.

But this performance, of course, is just one small part of these childrens' ongoing indoctrination. Some few may eventually resist this evil, some will simply deny to themselves that this is evil at all, and some—perhaps most—will fully embrace this evil by the time they are adults, and will be ready to indoctrinate the next generation of children.

Tunisia is, in fact, a society already saturated with the nastiness of Islam that is further fast Islamizing, and on its way to becoming a full Shari'ah state int he wake of the "Arab Spring".

Islofob, I have nothing against trying to "end Islam". I just objected to your implication that that's all we have to do. Opposing Muslims is, and will be, considerably more difficult and complex than ending an ideology. You can outlaw anything, but if a group is fanatical enough, they will obviously not abide by the law. Then what? All laws require the teeth of violence to back them up, in the case of outlaws savage and fanatical enough not to care about our pieces of paper that "declare" that Islam is outlawed.

That raises the question, why is a website run by "Maghreb Christians" using the term "Islamists" (and occasionally "radical Islamists" as though "Islamists weren't enough) like it's going out of style. It's safe to say they see a difference between "Islamists" and the majority who are potential Christians. That's a grievous distinction, and not much different from the damnable TMOE we have to suffer with in the West from our PC MC mainstream.

I understand what you are saying. In no way is the step to outlaw islam the end of it, it is the needed beginning. Do that, and move forward to extract islam from this country, in every way. Nothing must be allowed to stay, and it must be done with full description, as to why and how, it is needed.

This is the only way to protect our way of life, and to defend the homeland against the threat of islam. If the U.S. leads on this, the western world will likely follow with like minded actions.

The world awaits this first step, and it will be taken, or all will be lost.

I wasn't meaning to imply that these children are in fact evil, or born evil, just that as they come to adulthood, they will have to choose whether to embrace their foul cult, or reject it.

Perhaps I should reassess; I believe some people are born with a propensity to do evil, and I mean *evil*, like torturing and murdering for pleasure, or for gain, and they actively *choose* to follow that path.
