I happened across this story several days ago and searched in vain for mainstream news coverage. So scant as to defy belief!

We really are living in an Orwellian world.

The UK has morphed into Oceania.

We here in the United States rest in the assurances of the First Amendment. But those assurances are eroded daily.

We're not far behind Eurabia now.

I never thought that this slide would happen THIS fast.

What I fail to understand at the moment is how Mr. Robinson can be suffering this treatment in the 21st Century in the UK? Does he not have access to any legal representation to protect his Englishman's rights?

Despots everywhere have discovered that they can be racist, misogynist, hate mongers of whatever sort. All they have to do is to declare the hatred, misogyny, and racism against themselves and there will be lots of gullible people who will fight for them.

Sooner or later, the whole definition of this word will be so sullied that people will actually fight FOR those who are the very antithesis of this effort. Hang in there Tommy. The UK government thinks they will shut you up but they are doing you a favour. Being unjustly locked up for standing up for freedom and human rights will only highlight the problems the government want to sweep under the carpet. There are many examples in history where freedom fighters such as you have ended up in the highest positions of power.

If you can't do anything else, call the nearest UK embassy and complain civilly but strongly to whoever answers the phone...

It is disappointing that no lawyer is offerring his services for no charge.

Tommy Robinson" served a twelve months prison sentence for assaulting an off-duty police officer who had intervened to stop a domestic incident between Lennon and his partner Jenna Vowles.[ He was convicted on 18 April 2005 for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault with intent to resist arrest while his partner was cautioned for possession of cocaine

Despite this I was very active on EDL,s forums, submitting a lot of data concerning sharia (islam)

What changed my attitude towards EDL where several things, such as the anti-Israel sentiments of a large section of members, led by Villa Loyal, Around the same time, there was a founding member arrested, and Villa Loyal declared him as a political prisoner and urged supporters to write to the Prime Minister and MPs to try to “win justice for Richard Price, EDL” co-ordinator of the West Midlands division of the EDL, after he was jailed for violent behaviour. But the leadership did not say anything about Price, 41, had being convicted in June 2010 of making four indecent images of children, and possessing cocaine and crack cocaine.

That conviction followed an earlier arrest in 2009 for public order offences believed to have been connected with EDL marches. Police were understood to have seized and analysed his computer, leading to the discovery of sexual images of children that he had downloaded. His home was also searched and the drugs were found.

Price admitted four counts of making indecent images of children and two charges of possessing cocaine when he appeared at Birmingham Crown Court. He was banned from owning a computer for a year, given a three-year community supervision order and ordered to sign on to the sex offenders register for five years.

Lennon claimed Price had been “stitched up” When Price was finally exposed Lennon promised a statement, which he still has not delivered.

To make things worse

On 24 August 2010, Lennon was involved in a fight between supporters of Luton Town and Newport County in Luton, on the evening the two clubs played at Kenilworth Road. Lennon reportedly led the group of Luton fans, and played an integral part in starting the 100-man brawl, during which he chanted "EDL till I die". Eleven months later, in July 2011, he was convicted of having used "threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour" on the night of the incident. He was given a 12-month community rehabilitation order and a three-year ban from attending football matches. He was also sentenced to 150 hours' unpaid work, and ordered to pay £650 in costs.

Lennon was arrested after an EDL demonstration in Tower Hamlets on 3 September 2011 for breach of bail conditions, as he had been banned from attending the demonstration. After his arrest, Lennon began what he called a hunger strike in custody in Bedford Prison, claiming to be a "political prisoner of the state" and refused to eat halal meat (which in fact he had not even been offered). A local paper however reported that Bedford Prison sources had claimed that "his hunger strike lasted only 24 hours and then he gave up when he got peckish". A handful of EDL supporters protested outside the prison in support of Lennon during his incarceration, peaking in a turnout of 100 protesters on 10 September. Lennon was released from prison on 12 September.

On 29 September 2011 he was convicted of common assault after headbutting a fellow EDL member at a rally in Blackburn in April that year. The judge stated that a custodial sentence could not be ruled out.

On 8 November 2011, Lennon held a protest against the ban on wearing a poppy for the England team on the rooftop of the FIFA building in Zurich. As a result, he was fined £3000 and jailed for three days.
On 20 October 2012, Lennon was arrested over an alleged assault.

On 22 October 2012, Lennon appeared at Westminster magistrates' court charged with using someone else's passport to travel to the United States in September 2012 ("possession of a false identity document with improper intention"). He was remanded in custody until he is due to appear in court in January 2013

Lennon has been put in prison for possecession of an illegal document This is not the only thing he has done, he has assaulted people, and he has incited violence, by doing so he has given those people that oppose his views the right to lock him up, in doing this he has brought about his own downfall also the downfall of the EDL

Lennon, by fighting in football grounds, amongst other things, given the law the right to lock him away, what he and his group need to do is to learn that to campaign against something that any government is keen on keeping in place, you need to make sure that you work hard to keep yourself in a position to maintain your freedom of speech, that means avoiding breaking laws, not inciting arrest.

Remember, he was given the privilege of release on bail while awaiting trial for an alleged assault during an EDL demo, despite his previous jail term for a serious assault. Most with his record would have been remanded. His bail condition, to lessen the risk of his re-offending, was that he should not attend any demos while on remand. He CHOSE to ignore that bail condition. By doing so, he CHOSE to await trial on remand in prison, rather than be free on bail.

If EDL was organised in a more effective and intelligent way, they could gain considerable support for their cause, but, because of actions such as these, they simply put themselves in the firing line.

I am only one of the many thousands that have left the EDL.

Christians are commanded to 'visit the sick and those in prison'.

British Christians: contact the Archbishop of Canterbury, and to whoever is Bishop of the area where Mr Robinson lives, and put them on the spot: tell them what has been done to Tommy, and ask them to *demand* to visit him.

His own Bishop and certainly the priest of the parish within which he usually resides should be contacted, and asked to pay him a pastoral visit.

Is there a prison chaplain (Christian)? Even if Tommy is an atheist or agnostic, I think it would be a good move for the chaplain to be contacted and asked to visit him.

Let's put it this way: it will be very embarrassing for the UK government if respectable Christian clergypersons are known to have been officially prevented from visiting a fellow Briton who has basically been locked up for political reasons.

And has anyone contacted Amnesty International? And the Red Cross?

final thought: British Freedom Party members and supporters were being asked to write to their MPs.

Over at Atlasshrugs, one of the posters suggested that if at all possible, action should not be confined to *letters* or phone calls: constituents should instead demand to see their MPs in person.

I see all kind of comments suggesting calling and writing politicians or having clergy protest. That's all nice, but the man is going to need lawyers. This is one of the most compelling times I can think of to send some money for a cause. From what I see the Brits are trying to use their jail to kill Tommy. Let's get him out of there.

If you sent funds to help Geert Wilders, as I was motivated to do, please realize that this is a much more urgent need. I'm sure jail was much more benign for Geert, Tommy is with the general population - and as the article describes, he is in a cell with radical muzzies! The Dutch were trying to silence Wilders' voice, the British are openly acting like they wish to end Tommy Robinson's life.

The last posting on this thread - though it claims to be from 'a true Patriot' is altogether too foul a rant, far too gleefully gloating over the vision of a non-Muslim prisoner being "the bitch for the Muslim Guards lol.", to be anything other than a Mohammedthug.

If Jan, who has always come across as a sane and sober person, vouches for the EDL and the BFP - and if Esmerelda Weatherwax, who has personally with her own eyes viewed some of their rallies in London, and has heard Mr Robinson speak, vouches for them - then I will trust them rather than never(or very rarely)-before-seen-here 'gunung' (is he the same poster, I wonder, as the 'yahoo' sign-in above??) and his massive attempt to undermine them.
