My uncle Calvin Stevens, Lt US Army, now deceased, was on the Guadalcanal front lines for 162 days, leading patrols into the jungle every night looking to engage the enemy...The war ended for him when a snipers bullet hit him in the chest, missing his heart by one half inch...
He got called back up for the Korean war, and fought in several battles...he and a sergeant were coming out of a bunker on Heartbreak Ridge, when an enemy mortar landed on them killing the Sargent and blowing my uncles legs off...He survived but the rest of his life was legless...

For a few years, I have been assisting a local veterans assistance rehabbing nonprofit, which in my paltry way helps to give renewed hope and assistance for those who have been giving all for our America, Western Civilization, and Liberty and Freedom.

A day does not go by, without knowing what our organized forces are sacrificing and ready to do, as are many of us here and everywhere in America, who are not part of the direct organized forces.

Military is a blind instrument. It can equally be good or bad. Freedom is still not shrinking; except, America has become too divided, and , worse, the judiciary power is unchecked. A homo judge will stand for homos; an atheist or Jewish judge will favor Muslims over Christians; A non-white judge will not be for the whites. When come to freedom of speech, it all will depend on who you have for a judge. A judge, who was born in a country where freedom does not exist, will not protect freedom.

We are fucked up by division.

The soldier who dies in a just war, fighting for what is morally right by any liberal humanist standard, is in a minority in these dark times.

Instead, in the case of the United States, Vietnam ushered in a new era. One where soldiers are sent to fight and die and do the bidding of the United States Military Industrial Complex. And all done under the pretext of "spreading democracy and freedom".

We can never force democracy and freedom on people who never created and enjoyed it for themselves before a war. Germany, Italy, Japan all had democracies in the beginning of the 20th Century and were advanced, modern societies who created themselves before darkness descended. The ultimate consequence of WW2 was not to "spread democracy and freedom" to them, but to restore them to the path they were progressing on already.

This is absolutely nothing like Afghanistan nor Iraq nor Egypt nor Libya et al. There is no comparison.

So when we hear the lies of "spreading and advancing freedom and democracy" in the muslim world, spoken by shadowy, bad presidents like George Bush or Obama, all we have to do is look at this stark difference between what they, as the proxies of the US Military Industrial Complex and other behind the scenes forces, are trying to sell us on and what history shows us to be true. There is no connection.

Surely there can be no greater tragedy than good men and women believing in a noble cause being sent to die for an ignoble one under false pretenses -- all while their noble cause slowly dies in their own back yard.

Why is that story important? It's important because it exemplifies the condition of "can't see Islam for the Muslims."

To Flea, Islam may just be another religion (let alone a political system)--no different than any other religion--and that's the problem.

Until the masses (and popular figures, like Flea) understand Islam for what it truly is, and understand the fact that Muslims represent Islam--until then, they will enable the general acceptance of Islam as just another religion among the various religions of the world.

Yes they did …

Most of them fled the city and some the country … the rest are sitting ducks they left to different parts of the city where it is less troubled, when the bombing is unbearable .

Most of my relatives houses is grounded …and there is nothing to go back to, when it is all over …

It is hard to imagine and accept this reality and I am here …

the future is bleak for them because they are talking about splitting Syria to 3 parts .. one for the Alawats, and one for Sunnis, and one for the Kurds … Aleppo is going to be part of Turkey ..

My only sister that stayed in Aleppo because she is forced to keep going to work where she does nothing but sit, like all of other workers are doing …that happens because it is under the control of government .. she told me if she stopped going to work, she will be considered a traitor.

Horrific existence …

You do not know how much I am glad, I am here with family safe and sound ..

Both of my grandfathers fought in World War I. My father, two of my Uncles and one of my Aunts fought in World War II. My father then went on to Korea. My husband and I both "visited" Viet Nam. I went on to take little "fun" trips to Panama, Grenada, and a wonderful side trip to Saudi. Just before I retired, I got to walk halfway across Iraq. Combat Camera is just that. Going into combat with a camera instead of an M-16. I was lucky enough that the Marine Rifle teams that got stuck with "that zoomie photo-gray-pher broad" always had a spare weapon for me. Before anyone gets snarky, they always had a grin when they called me that and at least once, there was a small but decisive fist fight when someone NOT on the team called me that. Go figure. Thanks for keeping this broad alive, Marines. Thanks to all my family members who instilled in me a sense of honor and love of country. Thank you, God, for allowing me to be born in this country and allowing me to be part of a line of defenders.
