IDF soldiers spell out "Bibi loser" for not using ground forces in Gaza, accepting truce favorable to Hamas

Loser.jpg

Growing frustration with the unwillingness of leaders -- any leader -- to confront the jihad. "Soldiers spell out critique of Netanyahu as a ‘loser’ for not using ground forces in Gaza," by Aaron Kalman in the Times of Israel, November 22 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

The IDF Spokesman’s Office said Thursday it was looking into a photograph circulating widely on Facebook in which 16 IDF soldiers arranged their uniformed bodies on the sand, to spell out the Hebrew words “Bibi loser” — in a deft physical critique of Prime Minister Benjamin (Bibi) Netanyahu’s failure to send ground troops into Gaza during the just-ended Operation Pillar of Defense.

Netanyahu warned throughout the operation that a wider military assault on Hamas might be about to unfold. The IDF called up tens of thousands of reservists and deployed large troop contingents close to the Gaza border, and some troops were reportedly ordered more than once to gear up for an incursion, only to be ordered to stand down at the last moment.

“We were twice ordered to gear up and told that we are going in, and then we were called back to Israel,” one soldier said Thursday; others said they had even opened border gates before being told to return....

Many commenters on the photo said that the soldiers should be court-martialed; many others empathized with the soldiers’ evident sense of frustration at having been wound up for battle and then wound down, calling Netanyahu a coward and criticizing the prime minister for preventing the IDF from “getting the job done” and “giving it to Hamas.”...

Don't worry lads! Hamas are congenital liars. They will very soon break the truce (hudna) by launching more rockets. Then you can go in and wipe the floor with them.

Remember that you are a distinguished part of the fourth most powerful army in the world and God is on your side, and your enemy is a collection of loudmouthed d***heads.

Go Israel!

We have one problem, and one problem only, in today's world: Leadership; true, courageous, honest, brave and principled leadership.

http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2010/05/accursed-book-le-livre-maudit.html

I honestly wish I could join the IDF. But I’m not Jewish or Israeli. This is going to be a long battle. Corners will have to be cut.

I believe Netanyahu did the smart thing. The Gazans will certainly use the hudna period to regroup, set up more missiles, and launch them again. We now know that Israel is capable of handling such a situation.

Over 20 percent of Israel's population is Muslim, and that is without including West Bank, Gaza, or Golan Heights. They are growing faster than others in the country, and IMO are far more serious threat to Jewish Israel than terrorists in Gaza. Those who care about Israel need to figure out how to keep these Israeli Muslims from becoming a headache for non-Muslims in the country.

It isn't just the IDF soldiers - and the people in southern Israel, from Tel Aviv southward - who are disappointed that they didn't get to go in and HAMMER Jihad Fortress Gaza.

It's a lot of other ordinary folks all over the western world - and probably beyond it, in places like India - who have become Islamosavvy over the past few years and have therefore gained a new understanding of Israel's situation.

UNSC calls for Israel and Hamas to uphold cease-fire

I came across this very interesting story from a poster calling himself 'Viscount Adam', who is I think a diaspora Jew, presently in Australia.

He recounts the 'vox pop' that he personally observed. I won't reproduce all of the posting, just his remarks about what he perceives as a shift in public opinion at ground level in parts of the west.

"Being in Australia at the moment...and in one of the more 'redneck,' usually anti-Israel and anti-Jewish states of the federation.

"**I was in a hospital clinic waiting romm and amazed at the discussions about the news (media is usually pro-Pal to a fault here)** {my emphasis - dda}.

"But, **not a single person I spoke to believed that a truce would hold, that Israel had been in the wrong AT ALL WHATSOEVER and that she should [not] have entered and decimated Gaza and Hamas before even entertaining any sort of a truce. {Note: the 'not' was added by me, to clarify - it's pretty plain from the drift of the whole comment that he meant, 'not a single person believed that Israel should not have entered and decimated Gaza and Hamas..'.- dda}.

"To me, this indicates a watershed change of opinion at a basic level to wards the 'Palestinians' - which people are starting to acknowledge here, are terrorists and fakes.

"I think this war (and whatever semantics one wishes to harp upon, it IS a war) has changed the scales of balance towards Israel's favour in the global PR war.

"Australia is a key ally of the US...but I am hearing nothing positive about Obama, but much positive about the US Democrat-controlled Senate and the Republican House of Representatives.

"But interestingly enough, the message is getting through finally that Britain (and France) butchered their Mandates in the 1920-1940s and created the basis of a fake people - and gave away the Arab 'state' in the BMT to the Arabian Hashemites.

"I am finding it amazing that the myth of the Palestinian people in Gaza, let alone the ones in Judea and Samaria is cracking and that people are openly talking about them being ideological pawn imports to destroy the Jewish State.

"This, in Queensland, of all G-d forsaken places, is somewhat heartening. It does not mean I don't want to be out of here as soon as possible, though. G-d willing!...". END QUOTE

He should not have been quite so surprised...Queensland, to my knowledge, contains quite a few rural pockets that are what one might call 'bible belts' of the evangelical protestant variety, and in those areas there is a strong current of interest in and support for Israel. It's not so much the 'rednecks out in the bush, as the intellectual types in the big cities - in *all* states of Australia - who went to University in the sixties and seventies and there got brainwashed and fell for the whole 'Pity the Poor "Palestinians"' schtick.

Correction/ expansion to the final sentence of the final paragraph of my posting above.

i agree with those solders

I think those angry IDF soldiers are men like your son.

Decent men with warrior souls.

They had had enough, and then some, of the sh*t from the Mohammedan Mob, and they wanted to just go in there and hammer Jihad Fortress Gaza into the ground, so that Jewish kids can sleep in peace in southern Israel henceforward.

These soldiers *knew* some of them would likely get killed in the process of doing the hammering..but they were all psyched up, as good soldiers do, to take that risk...and then...bafflingly, infuriatingly, they got told to 'stand down'.

When they *know* that, sooner or later, the Muslims will once more start lobbing rockets at Jewish farms and kindergartens and shops and homes and schools and synagogues.

Israel's sheepdogs can *see* the foxes - or, rather, the jackals, the hyenas - prowling and lurking, right there in front of them; and they are straining at their leashes, leaping and growling; they just can't understand why the leash isn't slipped so that they can get to grips.

Interesting to note that "loser" is spelled lamed-vov-zayin-rosh (haven't set it up to do Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino, or Biblical Aramaic)--their "loser" is a borrowing from English!

@dda

Re your comment on Viscount Adam, the social studies chair at my school is reliably socialist, but I remember how once, while saying he didn't care a fig about the Mideast conflicct, he also let slip that he thought the Palestinians were "such utter bastards".

I myself have a sneaky suspicion that among non-Muslims of varied persuasions in a lot of the West, there's a sense that Muslims themselves created Islamophobia where there was none before; and not by lying a concept into existence, but by behaviors that can only anger and disgust the Kufr.

I'll still give individual Muslims the benefit of the doubt, since I've met too many who are (a) decent people, (b) exiting the religion, or (c) simply Muslim by tradition and inertia more than anything else. But I'm also one who has learned more about Islam than he really cared to learn following 09/11/01, and has decided he really doesn't like what he sees.

@miriam rove, DDA:

Miriam, I know you don't like any traditional religion, but I am going to pray for your ancestral country of Iran that God will be merciful, turn the hearts of its people, and prevent a major war from happening--especially a nuclear one, which, I fear, is what's in the offing.

I do not like the mullah-ocracy. I do not like Islam. I support Israel (albeit on natural law rather than by biblical proof-text). But, I suppose that after reading Jonah in the Old Testament, in which God berates the prophet for being angry over the Assyrians' repenting and being spared, I dare to hope that God can do it with many others.

DDA--not all of us Evangelical Protestants accept the Dispensational premillennial view that modern Israel is the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. I have always understood that God's chosen are those in Messiah, whether Jew or Gentile. But it is clear that in the aftermath of WWII, the Jews needed a place; and that they've tried to be as good a neighbor as possible in a rough neighborhood.

Also, surprisingly, I once got into some online correspondence with a Christian guy from Mainland China about how even there, where the official Communist line is that Israel is an outpost of Western colonialism, there's a certain amount of pro-Israel sentiment.

Valid point.

Certainly the same thing applies proportionate numbers here in our America.

And, let's not hear any of that "peace-loving Muslims" nonsense......I like to use the analogy of "being just a little bit pregnant".

Does their Koran permit their co-religionists to pick and choose among the verses to be observed? May we see the Koranic citation for that permissiveness? Or, is such liberal permissiveness a variation of their taqiyya?

Why is there little or nothing said about the passive, heads-down Muslims here who very effectively have hidden their inner loyalties (probably no loyalty to America other than preserving their personal status-quo's while they grow financially more secure in this ....gasp!...unwashed, infidel-heathen-commercial me-first-shopping mall United States.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Muslim.

But, that hypocrisy seems to be dangerously amorphous here in our America. No one seems to be giving these sleeper-Muslims the attention (at least publicly) that they deserve.

We Americans badly need to revive the Cold War terminology of "moles", "sleepers", infiltration, penetration, "fellow travelers"....and also "cells".

But methinks I'm whistling against the current politically correct winds and climate change.

"I like to use the analogy of "being just a little bit pregnant"."

Great analogy. I will use the same when I debate people who have their heads stuck in the sand. Thanks.

You had better start packing. Unless the rules have changed radically neither of those things has ever been an impediment to joining the Israeli army.

Really? Can you send me more details? Because I lived in Israel for about a year, and my understanding was that you needed to be Jewish or Israeli. I’m absolutely serious about this. I’ve researched it pretty carefully. If you have any information as to how I can join the IDF please post it! Believe me, I’ve researched every angle of this – security guard, etc. I think there is some lower-level cop-type person that non-Jewish, non-Israelis can be a part of. But I never figured out how to get there. But what I would really like to do is join the IDF. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated. I always thought the coolest dudes were the private security dudes that hung out in East Jerusalem with Uzis and shades. I’d even take a gig like that. Send info!

The real losers are those morons in the photo and I am not certain that they are Israeli soldiers and if they are that they are part of a fighting unit -- I guess that we will find out in due course.

That aside, the fact of the matter is that 70% of the Israeli population thought that ground invesion should only be used as the last resort.

Does anyone here really believe that a ground invesion would have brought a different resuts other than some dead soldiers? There is no such thing as casualty-free urban fighting. To me every life of an Israeli soldier is precious.

I am not a Bibi fun but this time he was absolutely right in not sending the army into Gaza -- the threat itself was sufficent to stop the rockets with minimum casualties to IDF which was Israel objective all along.

Strikes me that if the Israelis did like the French and created a 'Foreign Legion' - hey, they could name it after the legendary Orde Wingate - they might get a surprising number of recruits.

It would, of course, differ from the French model in that this 'legion of friendly foreigners' *would* be mostly serving on Israeli soil (Non-French who joined the French Foreign Legion were originally not permitted to serve on French soil; the reverse would be the case for any 'open to friendly foreigners' 'Foreign Legion' Israel might create, for it would be composed of Friends of Zion who saw the defence of Israel against Jihad as an important part of the defence of *all of humanity* against the Ummah).

Post script:

for anyone who doesn't know who Orde Wingate was, this remarkable man was one of the few among the British in 'Mandatory Palestine' who empathised and sided with the Jews, rather than with the Arab Muslims. See this link, for a potted biography:

M.G. Orde C. Wingate – British Christian Zionist, Father of the IDF and Valiant Commander of the CHINDITS in WWII Burma

That’s actually a very important suggestion DDA. That is what Israel should do. And thank you for informing me about Orde Wingate. I had not been aware of this person previously. He seems like an inspirational figure.

Yeah, maybe I should take another crack at this.

Israel has three major problems: 1) it is Socialist, 2) it is over-run by the Russian mob, and 3) Israelis won’t do anything about their problems for religious reasons.

Ironically, the Jewish Israelis that are from Eastern Europe and Russia are the most balls-out (excuse my language) Zionists.

Those Eastern Europeans are serious knuckle-draggers, but they are un-afflicted by Western PC hand-wringing. They know how to take care of business. They’re very practical.

One of my main problems was financing.

Give me three mill and one hundred Eastern European Jewish Israelis, and I’ll do some serious damage to Hamas. Shit, I might even be able to take back the Sinai.

dda, aside from all the interesting and valuable content you provide, I'm also impressed by your editorial standards for attribution and quotation. It's a virtue others would do well to emulate.
