Is Islamic Jihad Not “Savagery”?

CivilizedMan.jpg

At Frontpage today, Jamie Glazov interviews Pamela Geller about the hypocrisy of the media uproar over her use of the word "savage" to describe Islamic jihadists:

FP: Pamela Geller, thank you for joining FrontPage interview today.

Pamela Geller: Thank you, Jamie.

FP: Pamela, you have placed ads nationwide saying: “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat jihad.”

These ads have attracted a great deal of controversy. How Come?

PG: Jamie, this ad touched off a nationwide firestorm, with pundits and activists all over the country excoriating me for using the word “savage” to describe Islamic jihadists and supremacists. Leftists and Islamic supremacists denounced them as “racist” and “offensive.” For example, Ahmed Rehab of the Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) recently denounced the ad on Chicago television, saying that since jihad is central to Islam, therefore “Defeat Jihad” means “Defeat All Muslims.” Then he says that because the ad refers to all Muslims, it is racist. These are two immense leaps of logic. We’re always told that the vast majority of Muslims reject jihad violence, but now suddenly when it comes to my ads, to refer to jihad means to refer to all Muslims. And of course Islam is not a race, and Muslims are not all members of a single race.

Rehab was not the only one. Dhimmi Jewish groups joined in as well. Leftist Christians and Jews put up counter ads. And most notoriously, CNN “journalist” Mona Eltahawy attacked the ad and my associate Pamela Hall with a can of spray-paint in the New York subway. She has since then stoutly defended her action on the grounds that my ad was “racist.” After her little act of fascism she had the gall to claim that she was merely exercising her freedom of speech.

However, recently the hypocrisy and double standards of the leftists and mainstream media has become clear. It turns out that using the word “savage” is not always racist and offensive.

FP: Really? When is the word “savage” not racist and offensive?

PG: Last Wednesday both the New York Post and the New York Daily News ran cover photos of “Palestinian” Muslims dragging the corpses of accused Israeli collaborators behind their motorcycles. Both used the caption “Savages.” And that wasn’t all. In Tunisian citizen Souhir Stephenson’s “Tunisia, a Sad Year Later,” published a week earlier in the New York Times, she wrote: “Tourism is dwindling. Who wants to vacation among bands of bearded savages raiding embassies, staking their black pirate flag over universities or burning trucks carrying beer?”

“Bearded savages.” This appeared in the Times just six weeks after the paper ran a piece calling my American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) subway ads “potentially inflammatory” and quoting Muneer Awad of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) calling me “a bigot and a racist” for the ad.

FP: What is the difference between the New York Times’s use of the word savage and your use of it?

PG: Or Hillary Clinton’s, for that matter? In a statement on September 12, she used the same word to characterize those who had attacked our consulate in Benghazi and murdered Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American officials: “This was an attack by a small and savage group — not the people or Government of Libya.”

FP: Why is Clinton’s use of the word savage inoffensive but your use of the word is “racist”?

PG: It’s clearly hypocritical, Jamie. In all of these instances, we are all describing the same barbarians: Islamic jihadists who glory in violence and murder. So why is my ad unacceptable, but no one is angry with the New York Post, the Daily News, Souhir Stephenson or the Secretary of State?

My use of the word “savage” has been widely decried as “racist” and “dehumanizing.” Critics have invoked the use of the term to describe Native Americans and others in attempts to prove that any use of it is clear evidence of racist and even genocidal inclinations. But is any and every use of the word “savage” really some kind of thinly veiled call for genocide? Nonsense. Franklin Delano Roosevelt called the Nazis “savages.” And they were. Would Muneer Awad call him “a bigot and a racist” as well?

Read it all.

Here is something about jihad:

"The Story that the Historical Muhammad talked of a Greater,Spiritual Jihad/Struggle and a Lesser,Military Jihad is False"

http://www.antisharia.com/2011/05/21/the-story-that-the-historical-muhammad-talked-of-a-greaterspiritual-jihadstruggle-and-a-lessermilitary-jihad-is-false/

AND ALSO

"Thirteen photos of the Gigantic,Islamic-Style Arch, that is in Lima,Peru,a Unique Case"

http://www.antisharia.com/2012/11/25/thirteen-photos-of-the-giganticislamic-style-archthat-is-in-limaperua-unique-case/

absolutely right. Every Muslim knows only one meaning of jihad - that is "holy war" to spread Islam and killing of all those who oppose is religiously justified.

It is the stupid pseudo experts of the West and the taqiyya toting Muslims who spread this false and fake notion of it meaning "inner struggle" which may be a literal meaning but real meaning as Muslims know is that of holy war to spread Islam. From seventh century onward Muslims have always united in the name of jihad and then they went invading other countries to loot, murder and rape to reap the benefits of jihad.

How could one lose in this "struggle" - if you die in jihad there are 72 virgin hoories waiting for you in heaven and if you live than you have all the riches and women of infidels in your possession - a win-win situation. Such an offer that no one could deny!!

Pam's adversaries are totally busted.

A close look at Islamic and nonIslamic sources in regards to the personal lives of Mohammed and his first disciples show that Islam is a violent superstition, founded by a known killer.

When we're dealing with the Ummah, we are not dealing with what one might call 'simple' or ordinary savagery, such as was practised by a Norse or a Lakota warrior.

To me, Islam at its core smells of Decadence and Nihilism; of the sophisticate gone slumming. I think those who created Islam knew what they were doing; there is a sense of someone, or more than one person, saying, 'Evil, be thou my good'.

Islam *produces* primitive mind-numbed mobs, by the millions; but that is what it was *created* - by subtle, corrupted, malevolent minds - to do. It *represents* itself as born among the simple tribes of the desert; but it seems possible that that is its myth, not the reality of its creation; that it was born as much in the decadent city, as in the sands.

It strikes me as being like the nihilism that Pasolini charted in his film 'Salo', based on the work of the Marquis de Sade. Or like the legendary 'Hellfire Club' of Georgian London, dreamed up by bored sophisticates dabbling in the occult.

James Freeman Clarke, 19th century clergyman and abolitionist, in chapter 11 of his book 'Ten Great Religions', discusses 'Mohammed and Islam', drawing on all the greatest western non-Muslim scholars and observers then available to him.

Summarising what he learned, he writes in section 5: 'religious doctrines and practices among the Mohammedans', that

'Everywhere [that is, in Muslim lands - dda] we find arbitrary will taking the place of law.
“In most places the people have no protection for life or property, and know the government only through its tax-gatherers.

“And all this is necessarily and logically derived from the fundamental principle of Mohammedan theology.

"God is pure will, not justice, not reason, not love.
'Christianity says, "God is love"; Mohammedanism says, "God is will." Christianity says, "Trust in God"; Mohammedanism says, "Submit to God."
'
Hence the hardness, coldness, and cruelty of the system; hence its utter inability to establish any good government...

"'The religion of Islam is an outward form, a hard shell of authority, hollow at heart. It constantly tends to the two antagonistic but related vices of luxury and cruelty"..

In section 6, Clarke cites a scholar named Palgrave who had studied the Islamic texts in depth:

'Mr. Palgrave, who has given the latest and best account of the condition of Central and Southern Arabia, under the great Wahhabee revival, sums up all Mohammedan theology as teaching a Divine unity of pure will.
'God is the only force in the universe. Man is wholly passive and impotent.
'He calls the system, "A pantheism of force."

'God has no rule but arbitrary will.
'He is a tremendous unsympathizing autocrat, but is yet jealous of his creatures, lest they should attribute to themselves something which belongs to him.
'He delights in making all creatures feel that they are his slaves.
'This, Mr. Palgrave asserts, is the main idea of Mohammedanism, and of the Koran, and this was what lay in the mind of Mohammed."...

And in section 7, Mr Clarke observes:

"The merits and demerits, the good and evil, of Mohammedanism are to be found in this, its central idea concerning God.
" It has taught submission, obedience, patience; but it has fostered a wilful individualism.
" It has made social life lower. Its governments are not governments.
" Its virtues are stoical.
" It makes life barren and empty.

" It encourages a savage pride and cruelty.

"It makes men tyrants or slaves, women puppets, religion the submission to an infinite despotism." END

A gnostic death cult.

G K Chesterton captures the atmosphere of it, in his poem, 'The Crusader returns from Captivity':

"I have come forth alive from the land of purple and poison and glamour
where the charm is strong as the torture, being chosen to change the mind;
torture of wordless dance and wineless feast without clamour
palace hidden in palace, garden with garden behind;
'Women veiled in the sun or bare as brass in the shadows
and the endless eyeless patterns where each thing seems an eye..."..

"I have trod the curves of the Crescent in the maze of them that adore it
curved around doorless chambers and unbeholden abodes..".

There is a phrase that David Bentley Hart, in his 'Atheist Delusions: the Christian Revolution and Its Fashionable Enemies' uses to define the Greco-Roman and tribal barbarian world into which the church went out. He writes that the gospel had to work upon 'hard and intractable natures - the frank brutality of barbarians, the refined cruelty of the civilized'.

In dar al Islam one sees *both* those 'hard and intractable natures' combined - 'the frank brutality of barbarians, the refined cruelty of the civilised': unloosed and sacralised and feeding off each other, with the latter consciously making use of the former.
